1 D epois disso Jesus apareceu novamente aos seus discípulos, à margem do mar de Tiberíades. Foi assim:

After these things did Jesus manifest himself again to the disciples on the sea of Tiberias, and he did manifest himself thus:

2 E stavam juntos Simão Pedro; Tomé, chamado Dídimo; Natanael, de Caná da Galiléia; os filhos de Zebedeu; e dois outros discípulos.

There were together Simon Peter, and Thomas who is called Didymus, and Nathanael from Cana of Galilee, and the of Zebedee, and two others of his disciples.

3 “ Vou pescar”, disse-lhes Simão Pedro. E eles disseram: “Nós vamos com você”. Eles foram e entraram no barco, mas naquela noite não pegaram nada.

Simon Peter saith to them, `I go away to fish;' they say to him, `We go -- we also -- with thee;' they went forth and entered into the boat immediately, and on that night they caught nothing.

4 A o amanhecer, Jesus estava na praia, mas os discípulos não o reconheceram.

And morning being now come, Jesus stood at the shore, yet indeed the disciples did not know that it is Jesus;

5 E le lhes perguntou: “Filhos, vocês têm algo para comer?” Eles responderam que não.

Jesus, therefore, saith to them, `Lads, have ye any meat?'

6 E le disse: “Lancem a rede do lado direito do barco e vocês encontrarão”. Eles a lançaram, e não conseguiam recolher a rede, tal era a quantidade de peixes.

they answered him, `No;' and he said to them, `Cast the net at the right side of the boat, and ye shall find;' they cast, therefore, and no longer were they able to draw it, from the multitude of the fishes.

7 O discípulo a quem Jesus amava disse a Pedro: “É o Senhor!” Simão Pedro, ouvindo-o dizer isso, vestiu a capa, pois a havia tirado, e lançou-se ao mar.

That disciple, therefore, whom Jesus was loving saith to Peter, `The Lord it is!' Simon Peter, therefore, having heard that it is the Lord, did gird on the outer coat, (for he was naked,) and did cast himself into the sea;

8 O s outros discípulos vieram no barco, arrastando a rede cheia de peixes, pois estavam apenas a cerca de noventa metros da praia.

and the other disciples came by the little boat, for they were not far from the land, but as it were about two hundred cubits off, dragging the net of the fishes;

9 Q uando desembarcaram, viram ali uma fogueira, peixe sobre brasas, e um pouco de pão.

when, therefore, they came to the land, they behold a fire of coals lying, and a fish lying on it, and bread.

10 D isse-lhes Jesus: “Tragam alguns dos peixes que acabaram de pescar”.

Jesus saith to them, `Bring ye from the fishes that ye caught now;'

11 S imão Pedro entrou no barco e arrastou a rede para a praia. Ela estava cheia: tinha cento e cinqüenta e três grandes peixes. Embora houvesse tantos peixes, a rede não se rompeu.

Simon Peter went up, and drew the net up on the land, full of great fishes, an hundred fifty and three, and though they were so many, the net was not rent.

12 J esus lhes disse: “Venham comer”. Nenhum dos discípulos tinha coragem de lhe perguntar: “Quem és tu?” Sabiam que era o Senhor.

Jesus saith to them, `Come ye, dine;' and none of the disciples was venturing to inquire of him, `Who art thou?' knowing that it is the Lord;

13 J esus aproximou-se, tomou o pão e o deu a eles, fazendo o mesmo com o peixe.

Jesus, therefore, doth come and take the bread and give to them, and the fish in like manner;

14 E sta foi a terceira vez que Jesus apareceu aos seus discípulos, depois que ressuscitou dos mortos. Jesus Restaura Pedro

this now a third time Jesus was manifested to his disciples, having been raised from the dead.

15 D epois de comerem, Jesus perguntou a Simão Pedro: “Simão, filho de João, você me ama mais do que estes?” Disse ele: “Sim, Senhor, tu sabes que te amo”. Disse Jesus: “Cuide dos meus cordeiros”.

When, therefore, they dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, `Simon, of Jonas, dost thou love me more than these?' he saith to him, `Yes, Lord; thou hast known that I dearly love thee;' he saith to him, `Feed my lambs.'

16 N ovamente Jesus disse: “Simão, filho de João, você me ama?” Ele respondeu: “Sim, Senhor, tu sabes que te amo”. Disse Jesus: “Pastoreie as minhas ovelhas”.

He saith to him again, a second time, `Simon, of Jonas, dost thou love me?' he saith to him, `Yes, Lord; thou hast known that I dearly love thee;' he saith to him, `Tend my sheep.'

17 P ela terceira vez, ele lhe disse: “Simão, filho de João, você me ama?” Pedro ficou magoado por Jesus lhe ter perguntado pela terceira vez “Você me ama?” e lhe disse: “Senhor, tu sabes todas as coisas e sabes que te amo”. Disse-lhe Jesus: “Cuide das minhas ovelhas.

He saith to him the third time, `Simon, of Jonas, dost thou dearly love me?' Peter was grieved that he said to him the third time, `Dost thou dearly love me?' and he said to him, `Lord, thou hast known all things; thou dost know that I dearly love thee.' Jesus saith to him, `Feed my sheep;

18 D igo-lhe a verdade: Quando você era mais jovem, vestia-se e ia para onde queria; mas quando for velho, estenderá as mãos e outra pessoa o vestirá e o levará para onde você não deseja ir”.

verily, verily, I say to thee, When thou wast younger, thou wast girding thyself and wast walking whither thou didst will, but when thou mayest be old, thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another will gird thee, and shall carry whither thou dost not will;'

19 J esus disse isso para indicar o tipo de morte com a qual Pedro iria glorificar a Deus. E então lhe disse: “Siga-me!”

and this he said, signifying by what death he shall glorify God; and having said this, he saith to him, `Be following me.'

20 P edro voltou-se e viu que o discípulo a quem Jesus amava os seguia. (Este era o que estivera ao lado de Jesus durante a ceia e perguntara: “Senhor, quem te irá trair?”)

And Peter having turned about doth see the disciple whom Jesus was loving following, (who also reclined in the supper on his breast, and said, `Sir, who is he who is delivering thee up?')

21 Q uando Pedro o viu, perguntou: “Senhor, e quanto a ele?”

Peter having seen this one, saith to Jesus, `Lord, and what of this one?'

22 R espondeu Jesus: “Se eu quiser que ele permaneça vivo até que eu volte, o que lhe importa? Quanto a você, siga-me!”.

Jesus saith to him, `If him I will to remain till I come, what -- to thee? be thou following me.' This word, therefore, went forth to the brethren that that disciple doth not die,

23 F oi por isso que se espalhou entre os irmãos o rumor de que aquele discípulo não iria morrer. Mas Jesus não disse que ele não iria morrer; apenas disse: “Se eu quiser que ele permaneça vivo até que eu volte, o que lhe importa?”

yet Jesus did not say to him, that he doth not die, but, `If him I will to remain till I come, what -- to thee?'

24 E ste é o discípulo que dá testemunho dessas coisas e que as registrou. Sabemos que o seu testemunho é verdadeiro.

this is the disciple who is testifying concerning these things, and he wrote these things, and we have known that his testimony is true.

25 J esus fez também muitas outras coisas. Se cada uma delas fosse escrita, penso que nem mesmo no mundo inteiro haveria espaço suficiente para os livros que seriam escritos.

And there are also many other things -- as many as Jesus did -- which, if they may be written one by one, not even the world itself I think to have place for the books written. Amen.
