1 O Senhor terá compaixão de Jacó; tornará a escolher Israel e os estabelecerá em sua própria terra. Os estrangeiros se juntarão a eles e farão parte da descendência de Jacó.

Because Jehovah loveth Jacob, And hath fixed again on Israel, And given them rest on their own land, And joined hath been the sojourner to them, And they have been admitted to the house of Jacob.

2 P ovos os apanharão e os levarão ao seu próprio lugar. E a descendência de Israel possuirá os povos como servos e servas na terra do Senhor. Farão prisioneiros os seus captores e dominarão sobre os seus opressores.

And peoples have taken them, And have brought them in unto their place, And the house of Israel have inherited them, On the land of Jehovah, For men-servants and for maid-servants, And they have been captors of their captors, And have ruled over their exactors.

3 N o dia em que o Senhor lhe der descanso do sofrimento, da perturbação e da cruel escravidão que sobre você foi imposta,

And it hath come to pass, In the day of Jehovah's giving rest to thee, From thy grief, and from thy trouble, And from the sharp bondage, That hath been served upon thee,

4 v ocê zombará assim do rei da Babilônia: Como chegou ao fim o opressor! Sua arrogância acabou-se!

That thou hast taken up this simile Concerning the king of Babylon, and said, How hath the exactor ceased,

5 O Senhor quebrou a vara dos ímpios, o cetro dos governantes,

Ceased hath the golden one. Broken hath Jehovah the staff of the wicked, The sceptre of rulers.

6 q ue irados feriram os povos com golpes incessantes, e enfurecidos subjugaram as nações com perseguição implacável.

He who is smiting peoples in wrath, A smiting without intermission, He who is ruling in anger nations, Pursuing without restraint!

7 T oda a terra descansa tranqüila, todos irrompem em gritos de alegria.

At rest -- quiet hath been all the earth, They have broken forth singing.

8 A té os pinheiros e os cedros do Líbano alegram-se por sua causa e dizem: “Agora que você foi derrubado, nenhum lenhador vem derrubar-nos!”

Even firs have rejoiced over thee, Cedars of Lebanon --: Since thou hast lain down, The hewer cometh not up against us.

9 N as profundezas o Sheol está todo agitado para recebê-lo quando chegar. Por sua causa ele desperta os espíritos dos mortos, todos os governantes da terra. Ele os faz levantar-se dos seus tronos, todos os reis dos povos.

Sheol beneath hath been troubled at thee, To meet thy coming in, It is waking up for thee Rephaim, All chiefs ones of earth, It hath raised up from their thrones All kings of nations.

10 T odos responderão e lhe dirão: “Você também perdeu as forças como nós, e tornou-se como um de nós”.

All of them answer and say unto thee, Even thou hast become weak like us! Unto us thou hast become like!

11 S ua soberba foi lançada na sepultura, junto com o som das suas liras; sua cama é de larvas, sua coberta, de vermes.

Brought down to Sheol hath been thine excellency, The noise of thy psaltery, Under thee spread out hath been the worm, Yea, covering thee is the worm.

12 C omo você caiu dos céus, ó estrela da manhã, filho da alvorada! Como foi atirado à terra, você, que derrubava as nações!

How hast thou fallen from the heavens, O shining one, son of the dawn! Thou hast been cut down to earth, O weakener of nations.

13 V ocê, que dizia no seu coração: “Subirei aos céus; erguerei o meu trono acima das estrelas de Deus; eu me assentarei no monte da assembléia, no ponto mais elevado do monte santo.

And thou saidst in thy heart: the heavens I go up, Above stars of God I raise my throne, And I sit in the mount of meeting in the sides of the north.

14 S ubirei mais alto que as mais altas nuvens; serei como o Altíssimo”.

I go up above the heights of a thick cloud, I am like to the Most High.

15 M as às profundezas do Sheol você será levado, irá ao fundo do abismo!

Only -- unto Sheol thou art brought down, Unto the sides of the pit.

16 O s que olham para você admiram-se da sua situação, e a seu respeito ponderam: “É esse o homem que fazia tremer a terra, abalava os reinos,

Thy beholders look to thee, to thee they attend, Is this the man causing the earth to tremble, Shaking kingdoms?

17 f ez do mundo um deserto, conquistou cidades e não deixou que os seus prisioneiros voltassem para casa?”

He hath made the world as a wilderness, And his cities he hath broken down, Of his bound ones he opened not the house.

18 T odos os reis das nações jazem honrosamente, cada um em seu próprio túmulo.

All kings of nations -- all of them, Have lain down in honour, each in his house,

19 M as você é atirado fora do seu túmulo, como um galho rejeitado; como as roupas dos mortos que foram feridos à espada; como os que descem às pedras da cova; como um cadáver pisoteado,

And -- thou hast been cast out of thy grave, As an abominable branch, raiment of the slain, Thrust through ones of the sword, Going down unto the sons of the pit, As a carcase trodden down.

20 v ocê não se unirá a eles num sepultamento, pois destruiu a sua própria terra, e matou o seu próprio povo. Nunca se mencione a descendência dos malfeitores!

Thou art not united with them in burial, For thy land thou hast destroyed, Thy people thou hast slain, Not named to the age is the seed of evil doers.

21 P reparem um local para matar os filhos dele por causa da iniqüidade dos seus antepassados; para que eles não se levantem para herdar a terra e cobri-la de cidades.

Prepare ye for his sons slaughter; Because of the iniquity of their fathers, They rise not, nor have possessed the land, Nor filled the face of the world cities.

22 “ Eu me levantarei contra eles”, diz o Senhor dos Exércitos. “Eliminarei da Babilônia o seu nome e os seus sobreviventes, sua prole e os seus descendentes”, diz o Senhor.

And I have risen up against them, (The affirmation of Jehovah of Hosts,) And have cut off, in reference to Babylon, Name and remnant, and continuator and successor, The affirmation of Jehovah.

23 “ Farei dela um lugar para corujas e uma terra pantanosa; vou varrê-la com a vassoura da destruição”, diz o Senhor dos Exércitos. Profecia contra a Assíria

And have made it for a possession of a bittern, And ponds of waters, And daubed it with the mire of destruction, The affirmation of Jehovah of Hosts!

24 O Senhor dos Exércitos jurou: “Certamente, como planejei, assim acontecerá, e, como pensei, assim será.

Sworn hath Jehovah of Hosts, saying, `As I thought -- so hath it not been? And as I counselled -- it standeth;

25 E smagarei a Assíria na minha terra; nos meus montes a pisotearei. O seu jugo será tirado do meu povo, e o seu fardo, dos ombros dele”.

To break Asshur in My land, And on My mountains I tread him down, And turned from off them hath his yoke, Yea, his burden from off their shoulder turneth aside.

26 E sse é o plano estabelecido para toda a terra; essa é a mão estendida sobre todas as nações.

This the counsel that is counselled for all the earth, And this the hand that is stretched out for all the nations.

27 P ois esse é o propósito do Senhor dos Exércitos; quem pode impedi-lo? Sua mão está estendida; quem pode fazê-la recuar? Profecia contra os Filisteus

For Jehovah of Hosts hath purposed, And who doth make void? And His hand that is stretched out, Who doth turn it back?'

28 E sta advertência veio no ano em que o rei Acaz morreu:

In the year of the death of king Ahaz was this burden:

29 V ocês, filisteus, todos vocês, não se alegrem porque a vara que os feria está quebrada! Da raiz da cobra brotará uma víbora, e o seu fruto será uma serpente veloz.

Rejoice not thou, Philistia, all of thee, That broken hath been the rod of thy smiter, For from the root of a serpent cometh out a viper, And its fruit a flying saraph.

30 O mais pobre dos pobres achará pastagem, e os necessitados descansarão em segurança. Mas eu matarei de fome a raiz de vocês, e ela matará os seus sobreviventes.

And delighted have the first-born of the poor, And the needy in confidence lie down, And I have put to death with famine thy root, And thy remnant it slayeth.

31 L amente, ó porta! Clame, ó cidade! Derretam-se todos vocês, filisteus! Do norte vem um exército, e ninguém desertou de suas fileiras.

Howl, O gate; cry, O city, Melted art thou, Philistia, all of thee, For from the north smoke hath come, And there is none alone in his set places.

32 Q ue resposta se dará aos emissários daquela nação? Esta: “O Senhor estabeleceu Sião, e nela encontrarão refúgio os aflitos do seu povo”.

And what doth one answer the messengers of a nation? `That Jehovah hath founded Zion, And in it do the poor of His people trust!'
