1 P ois o Senhor se compadecerá de Jacó, e ainda escolherá a Israel e os porá na sua própria terra; e ajuntar-se-ão com eles os estrangeiros, e se apegarão ã casa de Jacó.

Because Jehovah loveth Jacob, And hath fixed again on Israel, And given them rest on their own land, And joined hath been the sojourner to them, And they have been admitted to the house of Jacob.

2 E os povos os receberão, e os levarão aos seus lugares; e a casa de Israel os possuirá por servos e por servas, na terra do Senhor e cativarão aqueles que os cativaram, e dominarão os seus opressores.

And peoples have taken them, And have brought them in unto their place, And the house of Israel have inherited them, On the land of Jehovah, For men-servants and for maid-servants, And they have been captors of their captors, And have ruled over their exactors.

3 N o dia em que Deus vier a dar-te descanso do teu trabalho, e do teu tremor, e da dura servidão com que te fizeram servir,

And it hath come to pass, In the day of Jehovah's giving rest to thee, From thy grief, and from thy trouble, And from the sharp bondage, That hath been served upon thee,

4 p roferirás esta parábola contra o rei de Babilônia, e dirás: Como cessou o opressor! como cessou a tirania!

That thou hast taken up this simile Concerning the king of Babylon, and said, How hath the exactor ceased,

5 J á quebrantou o Senhor o bastão dos ímpios e o cetro dos dominadores;

Ceased hath the golden one. Broken hath Jehovah the staff of the wicked, The sceptre of rulers.

6 c etro que feria os povos com furor, com açoites incessantes, e que em ira dominava as nações com uma perseguição irresistível.

He who is smiting peoples in wrath, A smiting without intermission, He who is ruling in anger nations, Pursuing without restraint!

7 T oda a terra descansa, e está sossegada! Rompem em brados de júbilo.

At rest -- quiet hath been all the earth, They have broken forth singing.

8 A té as faias se alegram sobre ti, e os cedros do Líbano, dizendo: Desde que tu caiste ninguém sobe contra nós para nos cortar.

Even firs have rejoiced over thee, Cedars of Lebanon --: Since thou hast lain down, The hewer cometh not up against us.

9 O Seol desde o profundo se turbou por ti, para sair ao teu encontro na tua vinda; ele despertou por ti os mortos, todos os que eram príncipes da terra, e fez levantar dos seus tronos todos os que eram reis das nações.

Sheol beneath hath been troubled at thee, To meet thy coming in, It is waking up for thee Rephaim, All chiefs ones of earth, It hath raised up from their thrones All kings of nations.

10 E stes todos responderão, e te dirão: Tu também estás fraco como nós, e te tornaste semelhante a nós.

All of them answer and say unto thee, Even thou hast become weak like us! Unto us thou hast become like!

11 E stá derrubada até o Seol a tua pompa, o som dos teus alaúdes; os bichinhos debaixo de ti se estendem e os bichos te cobrem.

Brought down to Sheol hath been thine excellency, The noise of thy psaltery, Under thee spread out hath been the worm, Yea, covering thee is the worm.

12 C omo caíste do céu, ó estrela da manhã, filha da alva! como foste lançado por terra tu que prostravas as nações!

How hast thou fallen from the heavens, O shining one, son of the dawn! Thou hast been cut down to earth, O weakener of nations.

13 E tu dizias no teu coração: Eu subirei ao céu; acima das estrelas de Deus exaltarei o meu trono; e no monte da congregação me assentarei, nas extremidades do norte;

And thou saidst in thy heart: the heavens I go up, Above stars of God I raise my throne, And I sit in the mount of meeting in the sides of the north.

14 s ubirei acima das alturas das nuvens, e serei semelhante ao Altíssimo.

I go up above the heights of a thick cloud, I am like to the Most High.

15 C ontudo levado serás ao Seol, ao mais profundo do abismo.

Only -- unto Sheol thou art brought down, Unto the sides of the pit.

16 O s que te virem te contemplarão, considerar-te-ão, e dirão: É este o varão que fazia estremecer a terra, e que fazia tremer os reinos?

Thy beholders look to thee, to thee they attend, Is this the man causing the earth to tremble, Shaking kingdoms?

17 Q ue punha o mundo como um deserto, e assolava as suas cidades? que a seus cativos não deixava ir soltos para suas casas?

He hath made the world as a wilderness, And his cities he hath broken down, Of his bound ones he opened not the house.

18 T odos os reis das nações, todos eles, dormem com glória, cada um no seu túmulo.

All kings of nations -- all of them, Have lain down in honour, each in his house,

19 M as tu és lançado da tua sepultura, como um renovo abominável, coberto de mortos atravessados a espada, como os que descem

And -- thou hast been cast out of thy grave, As an abominable branch, raiment of the slain, Thrust through ones of the sword, Going down unto the sons of the pit, As a carcase trodden down.

20 C om eles não te reunirás na sepultura; porque destruíste a tua terra e mataste o teu povo. Que a descendência dos malignos não seja nomeada para sempre!

Thou art not united with them in burial, For thy land thou hast destroyed, Thy people thou hast slain, Not named to the age is the seed of evil doers.

21 P reparai a matança para os filhos por causa da maldade de seus pais, para que não se levantem, e possuam a terra, e encham o mundo de cidades.

Prepare ye for his sons slaughter; Because of the iniquity of their fathers, They rise not, nor have possessed the land, Nor filled the face of the world cities.

22 L evantar-me-ei contra eles, diz o Senhor dos exércitos, e exterminarei de Babilônia o nome, e os sobreviventes, o filho, e o neto, diz o Senhor.

And I have risen up against them, (The affirmation of Jehovah of Hosts,) And have cut off, in reference to Babylon, Name and remnant, and continuator and successor, The affirmation of Jehovah.

23 E reduzi-la-ei a uma possessão do ouriço, e a lagoas de águas; e varrê-la-ei com a vassoura da destruição, diz o Senhor dos exércitos.

And have made it for a possession of a bittern, And ponds of waters, And daubed it with the mire of destruction, The affirmation of Jehovah of Hosts!

24 O Senhor dos exércitos jurou, dizendo: Como pensei, assim sucederá, e como determinei, assim se efetuará.

Sworn hath Jehovah of Hosts, saying, `As I thought -- so hath it not been? And as I counselled -- it standeth;

25 Q uebrantarei o assírio na minha terra e nas minhas montanhas o pisarei; então o seu jugo se apartará deles e a sua carga se desviará dos seus ombros.

To break Asshur in My land, And on My mountains I tread him down, And turned from off them hath his yoke, Yea, his burden from off their shoulder turneth aside.

26 E ste é o conselho que foi determinado sobre toda a terra; e esta é a mão que está estendida sobre todas as nações.

This the counsel that is counselled for all the earth, And this the hand that is stretched out for all the nations.

27 P ois o Senhor dos exércitos o determinou, e quem o invalidará? A sua mão estendida está, e quem a fará voltar atrás?

For Jehovah of Hosts hath purposed, And who doth make void? And His hand that is stretched out, Who doth turn it back?'

28 N o ano em que morreu o rei Acaz, veio este oráculo.

In the year of the death of king Ahaz was this burden:

29 N ão te alegres, ó Filístia toda, por ser quebrada a vara que te feria; porque da raiz da cobra sairá um basilisco, e o seu fruto será uma serpente voadora.

Rejoice not thou, Philistia, all of thee, That broken hath been the rod of thy smiter, For from the root of a serpent cometh out a viper, And its fruit a flying saraph.

30 E os primogênitos dos pobres serão apascentados, e os necessitados se deitarão seguros; mas farei morrer de fome a tua raiz, e será destruído o teu restante.

And delighted have the first-born of the poor, And the needy in confidence lie down, And I have put to death with famine thy root, And thy remnant it slayeth.

31 U iva, ó porta; grita, ó cidade; tu, ó Filístia, estás toda derretida; porque do norte vem fumaça; e não há vacilante nas suas fileiras.

Howl, O gate; cry, O city, Melted art thou, Philistia, all of thee, For from the north smoke hath come, And there is none alone in his set places.

32 Q ue se responderá pois aos mensageiros do povo? Que o Senhor fundou a Sião, e que nela acharão refúgio os aflitos do seu povo.

And what doth one answer the messengers of a nation? `That Jehovah hath founded Zion, And in it do the poor of His people trust!'
