1 D isse Davi: Resta ainda alguém da casa de Saul, para que eu use de benevolência para com ele por amor de Jônatas?

And David saith, `Is there yet any left to the house of Saul, and I do with him kindness because of Jonathan?'

2 E havia um servo da casa de Saul, cujo nome era Ziba; e o chamaram ã presença de Davi. perguntou-lhe o rei: Tu és Ziba? Respondeu ele: Teu servo!

And the house of Saul hath a servant, and his name Ziba, and they call for him unto David; and the king saith unto him, `Art thou Ziba?' and he saith, `Thy servant.'

3 P rosseguiu o rei: Não há ainda alguém da casa de Saul para que eu possa usar com ele da benevolência de Deus? Então disse Ziba ao rei: Ainda há um filho de Jônatas, aleijado dos pés.

And the king saith, `Is there not yet a man to the house of Saul, and I do with him the kindness of God?' And Ziba saith unto the king, `Jonathan hath yet a son -- lame.'

4 P erguntou-lhe o rei: Onde está. Respondeu Ziba ao rei: Está em casa de Maquir, filho de Amiel, em Lo-Debar.

And the king saith to him, `Where he?' and Ziba saith unto the king, `Lo, he in the house of Machir, son of Ammiel, in Lo-Debar.'

5 E ntão mandou o rei Davi, e o tomou da casa de Maquir, filho de Amiel, em Lo-Debar.

And king David sendeth, and taketh him out of the house of Machir son of Ammiel, of Lo-Debar,

6 E Mefibosete, filho de Jônatas, filho de Saul, veio a Davi e, prostrando-se com o rosto em terra, lhe fez reverência. E disse Davi: Mefibosete! Respondeu ele: Eis aqui teu servo.

and Mephibosheth son of Jonathan, son of Saul, cometh unto David, and falleth on his face, and doth obeisance, and David saith, `Mephibosheth;' and he saith, `Lo, thy servant.'

7 E ntão lhe disse Davi: Não temas, porque de certo usarei contigo de benevolência por amor de Jônatas, teu pai, e te restituirei todas as terras de Saul, teu pai; e tu sempre comerás ã minha mesa.

And David saith to him, `Be not afraid; for I certainly do with thee kindness because of Jonathan thy father, and have given back to thee all the field of Saul thy father, and thou dost eat bread at my table continually.'

8 E ntão Mefibosete lhe fez reverência, e disse: Que é o teu servo, para teres olhado para um cão morto tal como eu?

And he boweth himself, and saith, `What thy servant, that thou hast turned unto the dead dog -- such as I?'

9 E ntão chamou Davi a Ziba, servo de Saul, e disse-lhe: Tudo o que pertencia a Saul, e a toda a sua casa, tenho dado ao filho de teu senhor.

And the king calleth unto Ziba servant of Saul, and saith unto him, `All that was to Saul and to all his house, I have given to the son of thy lord,

10 C ultivar-lhe-ás, pois, a terra, tu e teus filhos, e teus servos; e recolherás os frutos, para que o filho de teu senhor tenha pão para comer; mas Mefibosete, filho de teu senhor, comerá sempre ã minha mesa. Ora, tinha Ziba quinze filhos e vinte servos.

and thou hast served for him the land, thou and thy sons, and thy servants, and hast brought in, and there hath been to the son of thy lord bread, and he hath eaten it; and Mephibosheth son of thy lord doth eat continually bread at my table;' and Ziba hath fifteen sons and twenty servants.

11 R espondeu Ziba ao rei: Conforme tudo quanto meu senhor, o rei, manda a seu servo, assim o fará ele. Disse o rei: Quanto a Mefibosete, ele comerá ã minha mesa como um dos filhos do rei.

And Ziba saith unto the king, `According to all that my lord the king commandeth his servant, so doth thy servant;' as to Mephibosheth, `he is eating at my table () as one of the sons of the king.'

12 E tinha Mefibosete um filho pequeno, cujo nome era Mica. E todos quantos moravam em casa de Ziba eram servos de Mefibosete.

And Mephibosheth hath a young son, and his name Micha, and every one dwelling in the house of Ziba servants to Mephibosheth.

13 M orava, pois, Mefibosete em Jerusalém, porquanto sempre comia ã mesa do rei. E era coxo de ambos os pés.

And Mephibosheth is dwelling in Jerusalem, for at the table of the king he is eating continually, and he lame of his two feet.
