1 U nd David sprach: Ist auch noch jemand übriggeblieben von dem Hause Sauls, daß ich Barmherzigkeit an ihm tue um Jonathans willen?

And David saith, `Is there yet any left to the house of Saul, and I do with him kindness because of Jonathan?'

2 E s war aber ein Knecht vom Hause Sauls, der hieß Ziba; den riefen sie zu David. Und der König sprach zu ihm: Bist du Ziba? Er sprach: Ja, dein Knecht.

And the house of Saul hath a servant, and his name Ziba, and they call for him unto David; and the king saith unto him, `Art thou Ziba?' and he saith, `Thy servant.'

3 D er König sprach: Ist noch jemand vom Hause Sauls, daß ich Gottes Barmherzigkeit an ihm tue? Ziba sprach: Es ist noch da ein Sohn Jonathans, lahm an den Füßen.

And the king saith, `Is there not yet a man to the house of Saul, and I do with him the kindness of God?' And Ziba saith unto the king, `Jonathan hath yet a son -- lame.'

4 D er König sprach zu ihm: Wo ist er? Ziba sprach zum König: Siehe, er ist zu Lo-Dabar im Hause Machirs, des Sohnes Ammiels.

And the king saith to him, `Where he?' and Ziba saith unto the king, `Lo, he in the house of Machir, son of Ammiel, in Lo-Debar.'

5 D a sandte der König David hin und ließ ihn holen von Lo-Dabar aus dem Hause Machirs, des Sohnes Ammiels.

And king David sendeth, and taketh him out of the house of Machir son of Ammiel, of Lo-Debar,

6 D a nun Mephiboseth, der Sohn Jonathans, des Sohnes Sauls, zu David kam, fiel er auf sein Angesicht und beugte sich nieder. David aber sprach: Mephiboseth! Er sprach: Hier bin ich, dein Knecht.

and Mephibosheth son of Jonathan, son of Saul, cometh unto David, and falleth on his face, and doth obeisance, and David saith, `Mephibosheth;' and he saith, `Lo, thy servant.'

7 D avid sprach zu ihm: Fürchte dich nicht; denn ich will Barmherzigkeit an dir tun um Jonathans, deines Vaters, willen und will dir allen Acker deines Vaters Saul wiedergeben; du sollst aber täglich an meinem Tisch das Brot essen.

And David saith to him, `Be not afraid; for I certainly do with thee kindness because of Jonathan thy father, and have given back to thee all the field of Saul thy father, and thou dost eat bread at my table continually.'

8 E r aber fiel nieder und sprach: Wer bin ich, dein Knecht, daß du dich wendest zu einem toten Hunde, wie ich bin?

And he boweth himself, and saith, `What thy servant, that thou hast turned unto the dead dog -- such as I?'

9 D a rief der König Ziba, den Diener Sauls, und sprach zu ihm: Alles, was Saul gehört hat und seinem ganzen Hause, habe ich dem Sohn deines Herrn gegeben.

And the king calleth unto Ziba servant of Saul, and saith unto him, `All that was to Saul and to all his house, I have given to the son of thy lord,

10 S o arbeite ihm nun seinen Acker, du und deine Kinder und Knechte, und bringe es ein, daß es das Brot sei des Sohnes deines Herrn, daß er sich nähre; aber Mephiboseth, deines Herrn Sohn, soll täglich das Brot essen an meinem Tisch. Ziba aber hatte fünfzehn Söhne und zwanzig Knechte.

and thou hast served for him the land, thou and thy sons, and thy servants, and hast brought in, and there hath been to the son of thy lord bread, and he hath eaten it; and Mephibosheth son of thy lord doth eat continually bread at my table;' and Ziba hath fifteen sons and twenty servants.

11 U nd Ziba sprach zum König: Alles, wie mein Herr, der König, seinem Knecht geboten hat, so soll dein Knecht tun. Und Mephiboseth (sprach David) esse an meinem Tisch wie der Königskinder eins.

And Ziba saith unto the king, `According to all that my lord the king commandeth his servant, so doth thy servant;' as to Mephibosheth, `he is eating at my table () as one of the sons of the king.'

12 U nd Mephiboseth hatte einen kleinen Sohn, der hieß Micha. Aber alles, was im Hause Zibas wohnte, das diente Mephiboseth.

And Mephibosheth hath a young son, and his name Micha, and every one dwelling in the house of Ziba servants to Mephibosheth.

13 M ephiboseth aber wohnte zu Jerusalem; denn er aß täglich an des Königs Tisch, und er hinkte mit seinen beiden Füßen.

And Mephibosheth is dwelling in Jerusalem, for at the table of the king he is eating continually, and he lame of his two feet.
