1 E lisa redete mit dem Weibe, dessen Sohn er hatte lebendig gemacht, und sprach: Mache dich auf und gehe hin mit deinem Hause und wohne in der Fremde, wo du kannst; denn der HERR wird eine Teuerung rufen, die wird ins Land kommen sieben Jahre lang.

And Elisha spake unto the woman whose son he had revived, saying, `Rise and go, thou and thy household, and sojourn where thou dost sojourn, for Jehovah hath called for a famine, and also, it is coming unto the land seven years.'

2 D as Weib machte sich auf und tat, wie der Mann Gottes sagte, und zog hin mit ihrem Hause und wohnte in der Philister Land sieben Jahre.

And the woman riseth, and doth according to the word of the man of God, and goeth, she and her household, and sojourneth in the land of the Philistines seven years.

3 D a aber die sieben Jahre um waren, kam das Weib wieder aus der Philister Land; und sie ging aus, den König anzurufen um ihr Haus und ihren Acker.

And it cometh to pass, at the end of seven years, that the woman turneth back from the land of the Philistines, and goeth out to cry unto the king, for her house, and for her field.

4 D er König aber redete mit Gehasi, dem Diener des Mannes Gottes, und sprach: Erzähle mir alle großen Taten, die Elisa getan hat!

And the king is speaking unto Gehazi, servant of the man of God, saying, `Recount, I pray thee, to me, the whole of the great things that Elisha hath done.'

5 U nd indem er dem König erzählte, wie er hätte einen Toten lebendig gemacht, sieh, da kam eben das Weib, dessen Sohn er hatte lebendig gemacht, und rief den König an um ihr Haus und ihren Acker. Da sprach Gehasi: Mein Herr König, dies ist das Weib, und dies ist der Sohn, den Elisa hat lebendig gemacht.

And it cometh to pass, he is recounting to the king how he had revived the dead, and lo, the woman whose son he had revived is crying unto the king, for her house and for her field, and Gehazi saith, `My lord, O king, this the woman, and this her son, whom Elisha revived.'

6 U nd der König fragte das Weib; und sie erzählte es ihm. Da gab ihr der König einen Kämmerer und sprach: Schaffe ihr wieder alles, was ihr gehört; dazu alles Einkommen des Ackers, seit der Zeit, daß sie das Land verlassen hat, bis hierher!

And the king asketh at the woman, and she recounteth to him, and the king appointeth to her a certain eunuch, saying, `Give back all that she hath, and all the increase of the field from the day of her leaving the land even till now.'

7 U nd Elisa kam gen Damaskus. Da lag Benhadad, der König von Syrien, krank; und man sagte es ihm an und sprach: Der Mann Gottes ist hergekommen.

And Elisha cometh in to Damascus, and Ben-Hadad king of Aram is sick, and it is declared to him, saying, `The man of God hath come hither.'

8 D a sprach der König zu Hasael: Nimm Geschenke zu dir und gehe dem Mann Gottes entgegen und frage den HERRN durch ihn und sprich, ob ich von dieser Krankheit möge genesen.

And the king saith unto Hazael, `Take in thy hand a present, and go to meet the man of God, and thou hast sought Jehovah by him, saying, Do I revive from this sickness?'

9 H asael ging ihm entgegen und nahm Geschenke mit sich und allerlei Güter zu Damaskus, eine Last für vierzig Kamele. Und da er kam, trat er vor ihn und sprach: Dein Sohn Benhadad, der König von Syrien, hat mich zu dir gesandt und läßt dir sagen: Kann ich auch von dieser Krankheit genesen?

And Hazael goeth to meet him, and taketh a present in his hand, even of every good thing of Damascus, a burden of forty camels, and he cometh in and standeth before him, and saith, `Thy son Ben-Hadad, king of Aram, hath sent me unto thee, saying, Do I revive from this sickness?'

10 E lisa sprach zu ihm: Gehe hin und sage ihm: Du wirst genesen! Aber der HERR hat mir gezeigt, daß er des Todes sterben wird.

And Elisha saith unto him, `Go, say, Thou dost certainly not revive, seeing Jehovah hath shewed me that he doth surely die.'

11 U nd der Mann Gottes schaute ihn starr und lange an und weinte.

And he setteth his face, yea, he setteth till he is ashamed, and the man of God weepeth.

12 D a sprach Hasael: Warum weint mein Herr? Er sprach: Ich weiß, was für Übel du den Kindern Israel tun wirst: du wirst ihre festen Städte mit Feuer verbrennen und ihre junge Mannschaft mit dem Schwert erwürgen und ihre jungen Kinder töten und ihre schwangeren Weiber zerhauen.

And Hazael saith, `Wherefore is my lord weeping?' and he saith, `Because I have known the evil that thou dost to the sons of Israel -- their fenced places thou dost send into fire, and their young men with sword thou dost slay, and their sucklings thou dost dash to pieces, and their pregnant women thou dost rip up.'

13 H asael sprach: Was ist dein Knecht, der Hund, daß er solch großes Ding tun sollte? Elisa sprach: Der HERR hat mir gezeigt, daß du König von Syrien sein wirst.

And Hazael saith, `But what, thy servant the dog, that he doth this great thing?' And Elisha saith, `Jehovah hath shewed me thee -- king of Aram.'

14 U nd er ging weg von Elisa und kam zu seinem Herrn; der sprach zu ihm: Was sagte dir Elisa? Er sprach: Er sagte mir: Du wirst genesen.

And he goeth from Elisha, and cometh in unto his lord, and he saith unto him, `What said Elisha to thee?' and he saith, `He said to me, Thou dost certainly recover.'

15 D es andern Tages aber nahm er die Bettdecke und tauchte sie in Wasser und breitete sie über sein Angesicht; da starb er, und Hasael ward König an seiner Statt.

And it cometh to pass on the morrow, that he taketh the coarse cloth, and dippeth in water, and spreadeth on his face, and he dieth, and Hazael reigneth in his stead.

16 I m fünften Jahr Jorams, des Sohnes Ahabs, des Königs in Israel, ward Joram, der Sohn Josaphats, König in Juda.

And in the fifth year of Joram son of Ahab king of Israel -- and Jehoshaphat king of Judah -- hath Jehoram son of Jehoshaphat king of Judah reigned;

17 Z weiunddreißig Jahre alt war er, da er König ward. Und er regierte acht Jahre zu Jerusalem

a son of thirty and two years was he in his reigning, and eight years he hath reigned in Jerusalem.

18 u nd wandelte auf dem Wege der Könige Israels, wie das Haus Ahab tat; denn Ahabs Tochter war sein Weib. Und er tat, was dem HERRN übel gefiel;

And he walketh in the way of the kings of Israel, as did the house of Ahab, for a daughter of Ahab was to him for a wife, and he doth the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah,

19 a ber der HERR wollte Juda nicht verderben um seines Knechtes David willen, wie er ihm verheißen hatte, ihm zu geben eine Leuchte unter seinen Kindern immerdar.

and Jehovah was not willing to destroy Judah, for the sake of David his servant, as He said to him, to give to him a lamp -- to his sons all the days.

20 Z u seiner Zeit fielen die Edomiter ab von Juda und machten einen König über sich.

In his days hath Edom revolted from under the hand of Judah, and they cause a king to reign over them,

21 D a zog Joram gen Zair und alle Wagen mit ihm und machte sich des Nachts auf und schlug die Edomiter, die um ihn her waren, dazu die Obersten über die Wagen, daß das Volk floh in seine Hütten.

and Joram passeth over to Zair, and all the chariots with him, and he himself hath risen by night, and smiteth Edom, that is coming round about unto him, and the heads of the chariots, and the people fleeth to its tents;

22 D och blieben die Edomiter abtrünnig von Juda bis auf diesen Tag. Auch fiel zur selben Zeit ab Libna.

and Edom revolteth from under the hand of Judah till this day; then doth Libnah revolt at that time.

23 W as aber mehr von Joram zu sagen ist und alles, was er getan hat, siehe, das ist geschrieben in der Chronik der Könige Juda's.

And the rest of the matters of Joram, and all that he did, are they not written on the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Judah?

24 U nd Joram entschlief mit seinen Vätern in der Stadt Davids. Und Ahasja, sein Sohn, ward König an seiner Statt.

And Joram lieth with his fathers, and is buried with his fathers in the city of David, and reign doth Ahaziah his son in his stead.

25 I m zwölften Jahr Jorams, des Sohnes Ahabs, des Königs Israels, ward Ahasja, der Sohn Jorams, König in Juda.

In the twelfth year of Joram son of Ahab king of Israel reigned hath Ahaziah son of Jehoram king of Judah;

26 Z weiundzwanzig Jahre alt war Ahasja, da er König ward, und regierte ein Jahr zu Jerusalem. Seine Mutter hieß Athalja, eine Tochter Omris, des Königs Israels.

a son of twenty and two years Ahaziah in his reigning, and one year he hath reigned in Jerusalem, and the name of his mother Athaliah daughter of Omri king of Israel,

27 U nd er wandelte auf dem Wege des Hauses Ahab und tat, was dem HERRN übel gefiel, wie das Haus Ahab; denn er war Schwager im Hause Ahab.

and he walketh in the way of the house of Ahab, and doth the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah, like the house of Ahab, for he son-in-law of the house of Ahab.

28 U nd er zog mit Joram, dem Sohn Ahabs, in den Streit wider Hasael, den König von Syrien gen Ramoth in Gilead; aber die Syrer schlugen Joram.

And he goeth with Joram son of Ahab to battle with Hazael king of Aram in Ramoth-Gilead, and the Aramaeans smite Joram,

29 D a kehrte Joram, der König, um, daß er sich heilen ließ zu Jesreel von den Wunden, die ihm die Syrer geschlagen hatten zu Rama, da er mit Hasael, dem König von Syrien, stritt. Und Ahasja, der Sohn Jorams, der König Juda's, kam hinab, zu besuchen Joram, den Sohn Ahabs, zu Jesreel; denn er lag krank.

and Joram the king turneth back to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds with which the Arameans smite him in Ramah, in his fighting with Hazael king of Aram, and Ahaziah son of Jehoram king of Judah hath gone down to see Joram son of Ahab in Jezreel, for he is sick.
