1 U nd Gott segnete Noah und seine Söhne und sprach: Seid fruchtbar und mehrt euch und erfüllt die Erde.

And God blesseth Noah, and his sons, and saith to them, `Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the earth;

2 F urcht und Schrecken vor euch sei über alle Tiere auf Erden und über alle Vögel unter dem Himmel, über alles, was auf dem Erdboden kriecht, und über alle Fische im Meer; in eure Hände seien sie gegeben.

and your fear and your dread is on every beast of the earth, and on every fowl of the heavens, on all that creepeth on the ground, and on all fishes of the sea -- into your hand they have been given.

3 A lles, was sich regt und lebt, das sei eure Speise; wie das grüne Kraut habe ich's euch alles gegeben.

Every creeping thing that is alive, to you it is for food; as the green herb I have given to you the whole;

4 A llein eßt das Fleisch nicht, das noch lebt in seinem Blut.

only flesh in its life -- its blood -- ye do not eat.

5 A uch will ich eures Leibes Blut rächen und will's an allen Tieren rächen und will des Menschen Leben rächen an einem jeglichen Menschen als dem, der sein Bruder ist.

`And only your blood for your lives do I require; from the hand of every living thing I require it, and from the hand of man, from the hand of every man's brother I require the life of man;

6 W er Menschenblut vergießt, des Blut soll auch durch Menschen vergossen werden; denn Gott hat den Menschen zu seinem Bilde gemacht.

whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man is his blood shed: for in the image of God hath He made man.

7 S eid fruchtbar und mehrt euch und regt euch auf Erden, daß euer viel darauf werden.

And ye, be fruitful and multiply, teem in the earth, and multiply in it.'

8 U nd Gott sagte zu Noah und seinen Söhnen mit ihm:

And God speaketh unto Noah, and unto his sons with him, saying,

9 S iehe, ich richte mit euch einen Bund auf und mit eurem Samen nach euch

`And I, lo, I am establishing My covenant with you, and with your seed after you,

10 u nd mit allem lebendigen Getier bei euch, an Vögeln, an Vieh und an allen Tieren auf Erden bei euch, von allem, was aus dem Kasten gegangen ist, was für Tiere es sind auf Erden.

and with every living creature which with you, among fowl, among cattle, and among every beast of the earth with you, from all who are going out of the ark -- to every beast of the earth.

11 U nd richte meinen Bund also mit euch auf, daß hinfort nicht mehr alles Fleisch verderbt werden soll mit dem Wasser der Sintflut, und soll hinfort keine Sintflut mehr kommen, die die Erde verderbe.

And I have established My covenant with you, and all flesh is not any more cut off by waters of a deluge, and there is not any more a deluge to destroy the earth.'

12 U nd Gott sprach: Das ist das Zeichen des Bundes, den ich gemacht habe zwischen mir und euch und allen lebendigen Seelen bei euch hinfort ewiglich:

And God saith, `This is a token of the covenant which I am giving between Me and you, and every living creature that with you, to generations age-during;

13 M einen Bogen habe ich gesetzt in die Wolken; der soll das Zeichen sein des Bundes zwischen mir und der Erde.

My bow I have given in the cloud, and it hath been for a token of a covenant between Me and the earth;

14 U nd wenn es kommt, daß ich Wolken über die Erde führe, so soll man meinen Bogen sehen in den Wolken.

and it hath come to pass (in My sending a cloud over the earth) that the bow hath been seen in the cloud,

15 A lsdann will ich gedenken an meinen Bund zwischen mir und euch und allen lebendigen Seelen in allerlei Fleisch, daß nicht mehr hinfort eine Sintflut komme, die alles Fleisch verderbe.

and I have remembered My covenant which is between Me and you, and every living creature among all flesh, and the waters become no more a deluge to destroy all flesh;

16 D arum soll mein Bogen in den Wolken sein, daß ich ihn ansehe und gedenke an den ewigen Bund zwischen Gott und allen lebendigen Seelen in allem Fleisch, das auf Erden ist.

and the bow hath been in the cloud, and I have seen it -- to remember the covenant age-during between God and every living creature among all flesh which on the earth.'

17 U nd Gott sagte zu Noah: Das sei das Zeichen des Bundes, den ich aufgerichtet habe zwischen mir und allem Fleisch auf Erden.

And God saith unto Noah, `This a token of the covenant which I have established between Me and all flesh that upon the earth.'

18 D ie Söhne Noahs, die aus dem Kasten gingen, sind diese: Sem, Ham und Japheth. Ham aber ist der Vater Kanaans.

And the sons of Noah who are going out of the ark are Shem, and Ham, and Japheth; and Ham is father of Canaan.

19 D as sind die drei Söhne Noahs, von denen ist alles Land besetzt.

These three sons of Noah, and from these hath all the earth been overspread.

20 N oah aber fing an und ward ein Ackermann und pflanzte Weinberge.

And Noah remaineth a man of the ground, and planteth a vineyard,

21 U nd da er von dem Wein trank, ward er trunken und lag in der Hütte aufgedeckt.

and drinketh of the wine, and is drunken, and uncovereth himself in the midst of the tent.

22 D a nun Ham, Kanaans Vater, sah seines Vaters Blöße, sagte er's seinen beiden Brüdern draußen.

And Ham, father of Canaan, seeth the nakedness of his father, and declareth to his two brethren without.

23 D a nahmen Sem und Japheth ein Kleid und legten es auf ihrer beider Schultern und gingen rücklings hinzu und deckten des Vaters Blöße zu; und ihr Angesicht war abgewandt, daß sie ihres Vater Blöße nicht sahen.

And Shem taketh -- Japheth also -- the garment, and they place on the shoulder of them both, and go backward, and cover the nakedness of their father; and their faces backward, and their father's nakedness they have not seen.

24 A ls nun Noah erwachte von seinem Wein und erfuhr, was ihm sein jüngster Sohn getan hatte,

And Noah awaketh from his wine, and knoweth that which his young son hath done to him,

25 s prach er: Verflucht sei Kanaan und sei ein Knecht aller Knechte unter seinen Brüdern!

and saith: `Cursed Canaan, Servant of servants he is to his brethren.'

26 u nd sprach weiter: Gelobt sei der HERR, der Gott Sem's; und Kanaan sei sein Knecht!

And he saith: `Blessed of Jehovah my God Shem, And Canaan is servant to him.

27 G ott breite Japheth aus, und lasse ihn wohnen in den Hütten des Sem; und Kanaan sei sein Knecht!

God doth give beauty to Japheth, And he dwelleth in tents of Shem, And Canaan is servant to him.'

28 N oah aber lebte nach der Sintflut dreihundertfünfzig Jahre,

And Noah liveth after the deluge three hundred and fifty years;

29 d aß sein ganzes Alter ward neunhundertundfünfzig Jahre, und starb.

and all the days of Noah are nine hundred and fifty years, and he dieth.
