1 D umnezeu i-a binecuvântat pe Noe şi pe fiii săi şi le-a zis: „Fiţi roditori, înmulţiţi-vă şi umpleţi pământul.

And God blesseth Noah, and his sons, and saith to them, `Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the earth;

2 F rica şi groaza de voi să fie peste toate vieţuitoarele pământului, peste păsările cerului, peste toate creaturile care mişună pe pământ şi peste toţi peştii mării. Ele vă sunt date în stăpânire.

and your fear and your dread is on every beast of the earth, and on every fowl of the heavens, on all that creepeth on the ground, and on all fishes of the sea -- into your hand they have been given.

3 T ot ce se mişcă şi are viaţă vă va fi hrană. Aşa cum v-am dat plantele verzi, acum vă dau totul.

Every creeping thing that is alive, to you it is for food; as the green herb I have given to you the whole;

4 D ar să nu mâncaţi carne cu viaţa ei, adică cu sânge.

only flesh in its life -- its blood -- ye do not eat.

5 P entru sângele vieţilor voastre voi cere socoteală; voi cere socoteală de la orice vietate. Iar din mâna omului, voi cere socoteală pentru viaţa semenului său.

`And only your blood for your lives do I require; from the hand of every living thing I require it, and from the hand of man, from the hand of every man's brother I require the life of man;

6 C ine varsă sângele omului, de om sângele-i va fi vărsat, căci după chipul lui Dumnezeu l-a făcut Dumnezeu pe om.

whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man is his blood shed: for in the image of God hath He made man.

7 I ar voi, fiţi roditori şi înmulţiţi-vă; răspândiţi-vă pe pământ şi înmulţiţi-vă pe el.“

And ye, be fruitful and multiply, teem in the earth, and multiply in it.'

8 A poi Dumnezeu le-a spus lui Noe şi fiilor săi:

And God speaketh unto Noah, and unto his sons with him, saying,

9 „ Fac un legământ cu voi, cu urmaşii voştri

`And I, lo, I am establishing My covenant with you, and with your seed after you,

10 ş i cu toate vieţuitoarele care au fost cu voi – păsările, vitele şi toate animalele sălbatice care au fost cu voi, toate cele care au ieşit din arcă – cu toate vieţuitoarele de pe pământ.

and with every living creature which with you, among fowl, among cattle, and among every beast of the earth with you, from all who are going out of the ark -- to every beast of the earth.

11 Î nchei un legământ cu voi: niciodată nu vor mai fi distruse toate creaturile de apele vreunui potop şi niciodată nu va mai fi vreun potop care să distrugă pământul.“

And I have established My covenant with you, and all flesh is not any more cut off by waters of a deluge, and there is not any more a deluge to destroy the earth.'

12 D umnezeu a mai zis: „Acesta este semnul legământului pe care îl fac cu voi şi cu toate vieţuitoarele care au fost cu voi, pentru toate generaţiile viitoare:

And God saith, `This is a token of the covenant which I am giving between Me and you, and every living creature that with you, to generations age-during;

13 p un în nori curcubeul Meu; el va fi semnul legământului dintre Mine şi pământ.

My bow I have given in the cloud, and it hath been for a token of a covenant between Me and the earth;

14 C ând voi aduce nori peste pământ, iar curcubeul se va vedea în nori,

and it hath come to pass (in My sending a cloud over the earth) that the bow hath been seen in the cloud,

15 Î mi voi aminti de legământul pe care l-am făcut cu voi şi cu toate vieţuitoarele de toate felurile. Apele nu vor mai deveni niciodată potop care să distrugă toate creaturile.

and I have remembered My covenant which is between Me and you, and every living creature among all flesh, and the waters become no more a deluge to destroy all flesh;

16 C ând curcubeul va fi în nori, îl voi vedea şi Îmi voi aminti de legământul veşnic dintre Dumnezeu şi toate vieţuitoarele de toate felurile care sunt pe pământ.“

and the bow hath been in the cloud, and I have seen it -- to remember the covenant age-during between God and every living creature among all flesh which on the earth.'

17 D umnezeu i-a zis lui Noe: „Acesta este semnul legământului pe care l-am făcut cu toate creaturile care sunt pe pământ.“ Fiii lui Noe

And God saith unto Noah, `This a token of the covenant which I have established between Me and all flesh that upon the earth.'

18 F iii lui Noe, care au ieşit din arcă, au fost: Sem, Ham şi Iafet. Ham a fost tatăl lui Canaan.

And the sons of Noah who are going out of the ark are Shem, and Ham, and Japheth; and Ham is father of Canaan.

19 A ceştia trei au fost fiii lui Noe şi din ei s-au răspândit oameni pe tot pământul.

These three sons of Noah, and from these hath all the earth been overspread.

20 N oe a început să lucreze pământul şi a plantat o vie.

And Noah remaineth a man of the ground, and planteth a vineyard,

21 E l a băut vin, s-a îmbătat şi s-a dezbrăcat în cortul său.

and drinketh of the wine, and is drunken, and uncovereth himself in the midst of the tent.

22 H am, tatăl lui Canaan, a văzut goliciunea tatălui său şi le-a spus despre acest lucru celor doi fraţi ai săi de afară.

And Ham, father of Canaan, seeth the nakedness of his father, and declareth to his two brethren without.

23 D ar Sem şi Iafet au luat o haină, şi-au pus-o pe umeri, au intrat în cort mergând cu spatele şi au acoperit goliciunea tatălui lor; feţele lor erau întoarse, astfel încât ei n-au văzut goliciunea tatălui lor.

And Shem taketh -- Japheth also -- the garment, and they place on the shoulder of them both, and go backward, and cover the nakedness of their father; and their faces backward, and their father's nakedness they have not seen.

24 C ând Noe s-a trezit din beţie şi a aflat ce i-a făcut fiul său cel tânăr,

And Noah awaketh from his wine, and knoweth that which his young son hath done to him,

25 a zis: „Blestemat să fie Canaan; să fie cel mai de jos dintre sclavi pentru fraţii săi.“

and saith: `Cursed Canaan, Servant of servants he is to his brethren.'

26 N oe a mai zis: „Binecuvântat să fie Domnul, Dumnezeul lui Sem, iar Canaan să-i fie sclav.

And he saith: `Blessed of Jehovah my God Shem, And Canaan is servant to him.

27 F ie ca Dumnezeu să mărească teritoriul lui Iafet; el să locuiască în corturile lui Sem, iar Canaan să-i fie sclav.“

God doth give beauty to Japheth, And he dwelleth in tents of Shem, And Canaan is servant to him.'

28 D upă potop Noe a mai trăit trei sute cincizeci de ani.

And Noah liveth after the deluge three hundred and fifty years;

29 A stfel, Noe a trăit în total nouă sute cincizeci de ani; apoi a murit.

and all the days of Noah are nine hundred and fifty years, and he dieth.
