1 Î n timpul domniei lui Iehoiachim, Nebucadneţar, împăratul Babilonului, a pornit la război împotriva lui şi Iehoiachim i-a fost supus timp de trei ani. Dar apoi s-a răzgândit şi s-a răsculat împotriva lui.

In his days hath Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon come up, and Jehoiakim is to him a servant three years; and he turneth and rebelleth against him,

2 D omnul a trimis împotriva lui Iehoiachim cete de caldeeni, de aramei, de moabiţi şi de amoniţi. El le-a trimis împotriva lui Iuda, pentru a o distruge, după Cuvântul Domnului pe care-l rostise prin robii Săi, profeţii.

and Jehovah sendeth against him the troops of the Chaldeans, and the troops of Aram, and the troops of Moab, and the troops of the sons of Ammon, and He sendeth them against Judah to destroy it, according to the word of Jehovah, that He spake by the hand of His servants the prophets;

3 L ucrul acesta s-a întâmplat numai după porunca Domnului şi pentru a îndepărta pe Iuda din prezenţa Lui, din cauza tuturor păcatelor săvârşite de Manase

only, by the command of Jehovah it hath been against Judah to turn aside from His presence, for the sins of Manasseh, according to all that he did,

4 ş i din cauza sângelui nevinovat pe care-l vărsase. El a umplut Ierusalimul de sânge nevinovat şi de aceea Domnul n-a vrut să-l ierte.

and also the innocent blood that he hath shed, and he filleth Jerusalem with innocent blood, and Jehovah was not willing to forgive.

5 C elelalte fapte ale lui Iehoiachim şi tot ce a făcut el, nu sunt scrise oare în „Cartea cronicilor regilor lui Iuda“?

And the rest of the matters of Jehoiakim, and all that he did, are they not written on the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Judah?

6 I ehoiachim s-a culcat alături de părinţii săi, iar în locul lui a domnit fiul său Iehoiachin.

And Jehoiakim lieth with his fathers, and Jehoiachin his son reigneth in his stead.

7 M onarhul Egiptului n-a mai ieşit din ţara lui, căci împăratul Babilonului luase tot ce aparţinea monarhului Egiptului, de la Râul Egiptului până la râul Eufrat. Domnia lui Iehoiachin peste Iuda

And the king of Egypt hath not added any more to go out from his own land, for the king of Babylon hath taken, from the brook of Egypt unto the river Phrat, all that had been to the king of Egypt.

8 I ehoiachin era în vârstă de optsprezece ani când a devenit rege şi a domnit la Ierusalim timp de trei luni. Mama sa se numea Nehuşta şi era fiica lui Elnatan din Ierusalim.

A son of eighteen years Jehoiachin in his reigning, and three months he hath reigned in Jerusalem, and the name of his mother Nehushta, daughter of Elnathan of Jerusalem,

9 E l a făcut ce este rău înaintea Domnului, tot aşa cum făcuse şi tatăl său.

and he doth the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah, according to all that his fathers did.

10 Î n vremea aceea, slujitorii lui Nebucadneţar, împăratul Babilonului, au înaintat împotriva Ierusalimului şi au asediat cetatea.

At that time come up have servants of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon to Jerusalem, and the city goeth into siege,

11 N ebucadneţar însuşi, împăratul Babilonului, a venit înaintea cetăţii în timp ce slujitorii lui o asediau.

and Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon cometh against the city, and his servants are laying siege to it,

12 I ehoiachin, regele lui Iuda, s-a predat împăratului Babilonului împreună cu mama sa, slujitorii săi, conducătorii săi şi demnitarii săi. Împăratul Babilonului l-a luat prizonier în al optulea an al domniei lui.

and Jehoiachin king of Judah goeth out unto the king of Babylon, he, and his mother, and his servants, and his chiefs, and his eunuchs, and the king of Babylon taketh him in the eighth year of his reign,

13 N ebucadneţar a luat de acolo toate comorile Templului Domnului şi toate comorile palatului regelui; a sfărâmat toate obiectele de aur, pe care le făcuse Solomon, regele lui Israel, în Casa Domnului, întocmai cum a spus Domnul.

and bringeth out thence all the treasures of the house of Jehovah, and the treasures of the house of the king, and cutteth in pieces all the vessels of gold that Solomon king of Israel made in the temple of Jehovah, as Jehovah had spoken.

14 I -a dus în captivitate pe toţi locuitorii Ierusalimului: pe toţi conducătorii şi pe toţi războinicii viteji, în număr de zece mii de prizonieri, pe toţi tâmplarii şi pe toţi fierarii, lăsând în ţară doar poporul sărac.

And he hath removed all Jerusalem, and all the chiefs, and all the mighty ones of valour -- ten thousand the removal -- and every artificer and smith, none hath been left save the poor of the people of the land.

15 L -a dus pe Iehoiachin în captivitate la Babilon şi a mai dus în captivitate, din Ierusalim la Babilon, pe mama regelui, soţiile regelui, pe demnitarii săi, pe nobilii ţării,

And he removeth Jehoiachin to Babylon, and the mother of the king, and the wives of the king, and his eunuchs, and the mighty ones of the land -- he hath caused a removal to go from Jerusalem to Babylon,

16 p recum şi şapte mii de oameni viteji, toţi numai oameni puternici şi potriviţi pentru război, şi o mie de tâmplari şi fierari. Împăratul Babilonului i-a dus în captivitate la Babilon.

and all the men of valour seven thousand, and the artificers and the smiths a thousand, the whole mighty men, warriors; and the king of Babylon bringeth them in a captivity to Babylon.

17 Î n locul lui Iehoiachin, împăratul Babilonului l-a pus rege pe Matania, unchiul acestuia, şi i-a schimbat numele în Zedechia. Domnia lui Zedechia peste Iuda

And the king of Babylon causeth Mattaniah his father's brother to reign in his stead, and turneth his name to Zedekiah.

18 Z edechia era în vârstă de douăzeci şi unu de ani când a devenit rege şi a domnit la Ierusalim timp de unsprezece ani. Mama sa se numea Hamutal şi era fiica lui Ieremia din Libna.

A son of twenty and one years Zedekiah in his reigning, and eleven years he hath reigned in Jerusalem, and the name of his mother Hamutal daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah,

19 E l a făcut ce este rău înaintea Domnului, tot aşa cum făcuse şi Iehoiachim.

and he doth the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah according to all that Jehoiakim did,

20 D in pricina mâniei Domnului s-au întâmplat aceste lucruri în Ierusalim şi în Iuda, pe care, în cele din urmă, le-a izgonit din prezenţa Sa. Zedechia s-a răsculat împotriva împăratului Babilonului.

for, by the anger of Jehovah it hath been against Jerusalem and against Judah, till he cast them out from His presence, that Zedekiah rebelleth against the king of Babylon.
