1 A poi regele David a zis întregii adunări: „Fiul meu Solomon, singurul pe care l-a ales Dumnezeu, este tânăr şi plăpând, iar lucrarea este atât de mare, căci Templul nu este pentru un om, ci pentru Însuşi Domnul Dumnezeu.

And David the king saith to all the assembly, `Solomon my son -- the one on whom God hath fixed -- young and tender, and the work great, for not for man is the palace, but for Jehovah God;

2 A m pregătit din răsputeri pentru Casa lui Dumnezeu aur pentru ce este din aur, argint pentru ce este din argint, bronz pentru ce este din bronz, fier pentru ce este din fier, lemn pentru ce este din lemn, pietre de onix de fixat pe monturi, pietre de antimoniu, tot felul de pietre preţioase, pietre de diferite culori, precum şi pietre de alabastru din belşug.

and with all my power I have prepared for the house of my God, the gold for gold, and the silver for silver, and the brass for brass, the iron for iron, and the wood for wood, shoham stones, and settings, and stones of painting and of diverse colours, and all precious stone, and stones of white marble, in abundance.

3 D e asemenea, în râvna mea pentru Casa lui Dumnezeu, pe lângă toate pregătirile pe care le-am făcut pentru Sfântul Lăcaş, ofer pentru Casa Dumnezeului meu bogăţiile mele în aur şi argint

`And again, because of my delighting in the house of my God, the substance I have -- a peculiar treasure of gold and silver -- I have given for the house of my God, even over and above all I have prepared for the house of the sanctuary:

4 – trei mii de talanţi de aur, aur de Ofir, şi şapte mii de talanţi de argint pur – pentru poleirea pereţilor clădirilor

three thousand talents of gold, of the gold of Ophir, and seven thousand talents of refined silver, to overlay the walls of the houses,

5 ş i pentru întreaga lucrare pe care o vor face meşteşugarii; ofer aur pentru lucrările din aur şi argint pentru lucrările din argint. Aşadar, cine îşi mai aduce contribuţia, dedicându-se astăzi Domnului ?“ Răspunsul poporului la mesajul regelui

even gold for gold, and silver for silver, and for all the work by the hand of artificers; and who he that is offering willingly to consecrate his hand to-day to Jehovah?'

6 C ăpeteniile familiilor, căpeteniile seminţiilor lui Israel, căpeteniile peste mii şi peste sute şi căpeteniile responsabile cu lucrarea regelui şi-au adus contribuţia.

And the heads of the fathers, and the heads of the tribes of Israel, and the heads of the thousands, and of the hundreds, even to the heads of the work of the king, offer willingly.

7 E i au dat pentru lucrarea de la Casa lui Dumnezeu: cinci mii de talanţi de aur şi zece mii de darici de aur, zece mii de talanţi de argint, optsprezece mii de talanţi de bronz şi o sută de mii de talanţi de fier.

And they give for the service of the house of God, of gold -- talents five thousand, and drams a myriad; and of silver -- talents ten thousand, and of brass -- a myriad and eight thousand talents; and of iron -- a hundred thousand talents;

8 C ine a avut pietre preţioase le-a dăruit pentru vistieria Casei Domnului, de care avea grijă gherşonitul Iehiel.

and he with whom stones are found hath given to the treasury of the house of Jehovah, by the hand of Jehiel the Gershonite.

9 P oporul s-a bucurat de darurile pe care le-a făcut, căci le-a dăruit Domnului din toată inima; de asemenea, şi regele David s-a bucurat nespus de mult. Rugăciunea lui David

And the people rejoice because of their offering willingly, for with a perfect heart they have offered willingly to Jehovah; and also David the king hath rejoiced -- great joy.

10 D avid a binecuvântat pe Domnul înaintea întregii adunări, zicând astfel: „Binecuvântat să fii Tu, Doamne, Dumnezeul lui Israel, Părintele nostru, pentru veci de veci!

And David blesseth Jehovah before the eyes of all the assembly, and David saith, `Blessed Thou, Jehovah, God of Israel our father, from age even unto age.

11 A le Tale sunt, Doamne, măreţia, puterea, gloria, biruinţa şi maiestatea, atât în ceruri, cât şi pe pământ! A Ta, Doamne, este stăpânirea şi Tu Te înalţi ca suveran peste toate!

To Thee, O Jehovah, the greatness, and the might, and the beauty, and the victory, and the honour, because of all in the heavens and in the earth; to Thee, O Jehovah, the kingdom, and he who is lifting up himself over all for head;

12 B ogăţia şi slava vin dinaintea Ta. Tu stăpâneşti peste toate. În mâna Ta este puterea şi tăria; mâna Ta poate să înalţe şi să întărească pe oricine.

and the riches, and the honour from before Thee, and Thou art ruling over all, and in Thy hand power and might, and in Thy hand, to make great, and to give strength to all.

13 A cum, Dumnezeul nostru, noi Îţi aducem mulţumiri şi lăudăm slăvitul Tău Nume.

`And now, our God, we are giving thanks to Thee, and giving praise to Thy beauteous name;

14 C ăci ce sunt eu şi ce este poporul meu, ca să putem fi în stare să-Ţi oferim aceste daruri? De la Tine le avem pe toate şi ceea ce Ţi-am oferit a fost primit din mâna Ta.

yea, because, who I, and who my people, that we retain power to offer thus willingly? but of Thee the whole, and out of Thy hand we have given to Thee;

15 Î naintea Ta noi suntem doar nişte străini şi peregrini, la fel ca şi strămoşii noştri. Zilele noastre pe pământ sunt ca o umbră, fără nădejde.

for sojourners we before Thee, and settlers, like all our fathers; as a shadow our days on the land, and there is none abiding.

16 D oamne, Dumnezeul nostru, tot acest belşug pe care l-am strâns ca să zidim o Casă Numelui Tău cel sfânt, vine din mâna Ta şi totul Îţi aparţine Ţie.

`O Jehovah our God, all this store that we have prepared to build to Thee a house, for Thy holy name, out of Thy hand, and of Thee the whole.

17 D umnezeul meu, ştiu că Tu cercetezi inima, iar curăţia Îţi este plăcută. Eu am dăruit toate acestea în curăţie de inimă şi am privit cu bucurie la poporul Tău, care se află aici, aducându-Ţi darurile lui.

`And I have known, my God, that Thou art trying the heart, and uprightness dost desire; I, in the uprightness of my heart, have willingly offered all these: and now, Thy people who are found here I have seen with joy to offer willingly to Thee.

18 D oamne, Dumnezeul lui Avraam, Isaac şi Israel, strămoşii noştri, păstrează această dorinţă în inima poporului Tău pe vecie şi ţine-le inima aproape de Tine!

`O Jehovah, God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, our fathers, keep this to the age for the imagination of the thoughts of the heart of Thy people, and prepare their heart unto Thee;

19 I ar fiului meu Solomon, dă-i o inimă dedicată întru totul, ca să păzească poruncile Tale, mărturiile Tale şi rânduielile Tale, să le împlinească pe toate şi să zidească Templul pentru care am făcut pregătiri.“

and to Solomon my son give a perfect heart, to keep Thy commands, Thy testimonies, and Thy statutes, and to do the whole, even to build the palace which I have prepared.'

20 A poi David i-a zis întregii adunări: „Binecuvântaţi pe Domnul, Dumnezeul vostru!“ Şi toată adunarea a binecuvântat pe Domnul, Dumnezeul strămoşilor lor; ei s-au închinat cu toţii, plecându-se înaintea Domnului şi a regelui. Solomon recunoscut drept rege

And David saith to all the assembly, `Bless, I pray you, Jehovah your God;' and all the assembly bless Jehovah, God of their fathers, and bow and do obeisance to Jehovah, and to the king.

21 Î n ziua următoare au adus jertfe Domnului şi au oferit ca arderi de tot Domnului o mie de boi, o mie de berbeci şi o mie de miei, împreună cu jertfe de băutură şi o mulţime de alte jertfe aduse din partea întregului Israel.

And they sacrifice to Jehovah sacrifices, and cause to ascend burnt-offerings to Jehovah on the morrow of that day, bullocks a thousand, rams a thousand, lambs a thousand, and their oblations, even sacrifices in abundance, for all Israel.

22 Î n ziua aceea au mâncat şi au băut în prezenţa Domnului cu mare bucurie, l-au făcut rege a doua oară pe Solomon, fiul lui David, şi l-au uns drept conducător al Domnului, iar pe Ţadok – ca preot.

And they eat and drink before Jehovah on that day with great joy, and cause Solomon son of David to reign a second time, and anoint before Jehovah for leader, and Zadok for priest.

23 S olomon s-a aşezat pe tronul Domnului, ca să domnească în locul lui David, tatăl său; el a avut izbândă şi întregul Israel a ascultat de el.

And Solomon sitteth on the throne of Jehovah for king instead of David his father, and prospereth, and all Israel hearken unto him,

24 T oate căpeteniile, vitejii şi toţi fiii regelui David, s-au supus regelui Solomon.

and all the heads, and the mighty men, and also all the sons of king David have given a hand under Solomon the king;

25 D omnul l-a înălţat pe Solomon înaintea întregului Israel şi i-a făcut parte de o domnie mai strălucită decât a oricărui alt rege al lui Israel care a fost înainte de el. Necrologul lui David

and Jehovah maketh Solomon exceedingly great before the eyes of all Israel, and putteth upon him the honour of the kingdom that hath not been on any king over Israel before him.

26 D avid, fiul lui Işai, a domnit peste întregul Israel.

And David son of Jesse hath reigned over all Israel,

27 E l a domnit peste Israel timp de patruzeci de ani: la Hebron a domnit timp de şapte ani, iar la Ierusalim a domnit timp de treizeci şi trei de ani.

and the days that he hath reigned over Israel forty years; in Hebron he reigned seven years, and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty and three;

28 D avid a murit după o bătrâneţe fericită, sătul de zile, de bogăţie şi de slavă. În locul lui a domnit fiul său Solomon.

and he dieth in a good old age, satisfied with days, riches, and honour, and reign doth Solomon his son in his stead.

29 F aptele regelui David, cele dintâi şi cele de pe urmă, sunt scrise în „Cronicile văzătorului Samuel“, în „Cronicile profetului Natan“ şi în „Cronicile văzătorului Gad“,

And the matters of David the king, the first and the last, lo, they are written beside the matters of Samuel the seer, and beside the matters of Nathan the prophet, and beside the matters of Gad the seer,

30 î mpreună cu toată domnia şi puterea lui şi cu evenimentele care au avut loc în viaţa lui, în Israel şi în toate regatele celorlalte ţări.

with all his reign, and his might, and the times that went over him, and over Israel, and over all kingdoms of the lands.
