1 L e-a zis apoi ucenicilor Săi: „Este imposibil să nu vină pricini de păcătuire, dar vai de cel prin care vin!

And he said unto the disciples, `It is impossible for the stumbling blocks not to come, but wo through whom they come;

2 A r fi mai bine pentru el dacă i s-ar atârna de gât o piatră de moară şi ar fi aruncat în mare, decât să facă pe vreunul din aceşti micuţi să păcătuiască!

it is more profitable to him if a weighty millstone is put round about his neck, and he hath been cast into the sea, than that he may cause one of these little ones to stumble.

3 L uaţi seama la voi înşivă! Dacă fratele tău păcătuieşte, mustră-l, iar dacă se pocăieşte, iartă-l!

`Take heed to yourselves, and, if thy brother may sin in regard to thee, rebuke him, and if he may reform, forgive him,

4 Ş i chiar dacă păcătuieşte împotriva ta de şapte ori pe zi şi de şapte ori se întoarce la tine şi zice: «Mă pocăiesc!», tu să-l ierţi!“

and if seven times in the day he may sin against thee, and seven times in the day may turn back to thee, saying, I reform; thou shalt forgive him.'

5 A postolii I-au zis Domnului: – Măreşte-ne credinţa!

And the apostles said to the Lord, `Add to us faith;'

6 D omnul le-a răspuns: – Dacă aţi avea credinţă cât un bob de muştar, aţi zice acestui dud: „Dezrădăcinează-te şi sădeşte-te în mare!“, iar el v-ar asculta!

and the Lord said, `If ye had faith as a grain of mustard, ye would have said to this sycamine, Be uprooted, and be planted in the sea, and it would have obeyed you.

7 C ine dintre voi care are un sclav ce ară sau paşte oile, îi va zice când vine de la câmp: „Vino îndată şi aşază-te să mănânci!“?!

`But, who is he of you -- having a servant ploughing or feeding -- who, to him having come in out of the field, will say, Having come near, recline at meat?

8 N u-i va zice mai degrabă: „Pregăteşte-mi să mănânc şi încinge-te să-mi slujeşti câtă vreme mănânc şi beau eu, iar după aceea vei mânca şi vei bea şi tu!“?!

but will not say to him, Prepare what I may sup, and having girded thyself about, minister to me, till I eat and drink, and after these things thou shalt eat and drink?

9 V a trebui el oare să-i fie recunoscător sclavului său pentru că a făcut ceea ce-i poruncise? (Nu cred).

Hath he favour to that servant because he did the things directed? I think not.

10 T ot aşa şi voi: când faceţi tot ceea ce vi s-a poruncit, să ziceţi: „Suntem nişte sclavi nevrednici de laudă; am făcut ceea ce eram datori să facem.“ Isus curăţă zece leproşi

`So also ye, when ye may have done all the things directed you, say -- We are unprofitable servants, because that which we owed to do -- we have done.'

11 Î n drum spre Ierusalim, El a trecut printre Samaria şi Galileea.

And it came to pass, in his going on to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee,

12 Î n timp ce intra într-un sat, L-au întâlnit zece leproşi. Ei au stat la distanţă

and he entering into a certain village, there met him ten leprous men, who stood afar off,

13 ş i şi-au ridicat glasul zicând: – Stăpâne Isus, ai milă de noi!

and they lifted up the voice, saying, `Jesus, master, deal kindly with us;'

14 C ând i-a văzut, Isus le-a zis: – Duceţi-vă şi arătaţi-vă preoţilor! Şi, în timp ce se duceau, au fost curăţiţi.

and having seen, he said to them, `Having gone on, shew yourselves to the priests;' and it came to pass, in their going, they were cleansed,

15 U nul dintre ei, când a văzut că a fost vindecat, s-a întors slăvindu-L pe Dumnezeu cu glas tare.

and one of them having seen that he was healed did turn back, with a loud voice glorifying God,

16 E l a căzut cu faţa la pământ la picioarele lui Isus şi I-a mulţumit. Era samaritean.

and he fell upon face at his feet, giving thanks to him, and he was a Samaritan.

17 I sus a zis: „Oare nu zece au fost curăţiţi?! Unde sunt ceilalţi nouă?

And Jesus answering said, `Were not the ten cleansed, and the nine -- where?

18 N u s-a găsit decât străinul acesta să se întoarcă şi să dea slavă lui Dumnezeu?“

There were not found who did turn back to give glory to God, except this alien;'

19 A poi i-a zis: „Ridică-te şi du-te; credinţa ta te-a vindecat!“ Venirea Împărăţiei lui Dumnezeu şi a Fiului Omului

and he said to him, `Having risen, be going on, thy faith hath saved thee.'

20 F iind întrebat de către farisei când va veni Împărăţia lui Dumnezeu, Isus le-a răspuns: „Împărăţia lui Dumnezeu nu vine în aşa fel încât să fie observată

And having been questioned by the Pharisees, when the reign of God doth come, he answered them, and said, `The reign of God doth not come with observation;

21 ş i nici nu se va zice: «Iat-o aici!» sau « Iat-o acolo!», pentru că Împărăţia lui Dumnezeu este în mijlocul vostru!“

nor shall they say, Lo, here; or lo, there; for lo, the reign of God is within you.'

22 L e-a zis apoi ucenicilor: – Vor veni zile când veţi dori să vedeţi una din zilele Fiului Omului, dar n-o veţi vedea!

And he said unto his disciples, `Days will come, when ye shall desire to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and ye shall not behold;

23 V ă vor zice: „Iată-L aici!“ sau „Iată-L acolo!“ Să nu vă duceţi, nici să nu- i urmaţi!

and they shall say to you, Lo, here; or lo, there; ye may not go away, nor follow;

24 C ăci aşa cum iese fulgerul şi luminează de la o margine a cerului la cealaltă, tot aşa va fi şi cu Fiul Omului (în ziua Sa)!

for as the lightning that is lightening out of the one under heaven, to the other part under heaven doth shine, so shall be also the Son of Man in his day;

25 D ar mai întâi trebuie să sufere multe şi să fie respins de această generaţie.

and first it behoveth him to suffer many things, and to be rejected by this generation.

26 A şa cum s-a întâmplat în zilele lui Noe, tot aşa va fi şi în zilele Fiului Omului.

`And, as it came to pass in the days of Noah, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of Man;

27 O amenii mâncau, beau, se însurau şi se măritau, până în ziua când Noe a intrat în arcă şi a venit potopul şi i-a distrus pe toţi.

they were eating, they were drinking, they were marrying, they were given in marriage, till the day that Noah entered into the ark, and the deluge came, and destroyed all;

28 V a fi la fel cum s-a întâmplat şi în zilele lui Lot: oamenii mâncau, beau, cumpărau, vindeau, plantau, construiau,

in like manner also, as it came to pass in the days of Lot; they were eating, they were drinking, they were buying, they were selling, they were planting, they were building;

29 d ar, în ziua când Lot a ieşit din Sodoma, a plouat foc şi pucioasă din cer şi i-a distrus pe toţi.

and on the day Lot went forth from Sodom, He rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed all.

30 T ot aşa va fi şi atunci când se va arăta Fiul Omului.

`According to these things it shall be, in the day the Son of Man is revealed;

31 Î n ziua aceea, cel ce va fi pe acoperişul casei şi va avea lucrurile în casă, să nu coboare să le ia, iar cel ce va fi la câmp, de asemenea, să nu se mai întoarcă la ce a rămas în urmă!

in that day, he who shall be on the house top, and his vessels in the house, let him not come down to take them away; and he in the field, in like manner, let him not turn backward;

32 A duceţi-vă aminte de soţia lui Lot!

remember the wife of Lot.

33 O ricine caută să-şi scape viaţa o va pierde, dar cel care şi-o va pierde o va păstra.

Whoever may seek to save his life, shall lose it; and whoever may lose it, shall preserve it.

34 V ă spun că, în noaptea aceea, din doi care vor fi într-un pat, unul va fi luat, iar celălalt va fi lăsat.

`I say to you, In that night, there shall be two men on one couch, the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left;

35 D ouă femei vor măcina împreună – una va fi luată, iar cealaltă va fi lăsată.

two women shall be grinding at the same place together, the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left;

36 ( Doi bărbaţi vor fi la câmp – unul va fi luat, iar celălalt va fi lăsat.“)

two men shall be in the field, the one shall be taken, and the other left.'

37 E i L-au întrebat: – Unde, Doamne? Isus le-a răspuns: – Unde va fi trupul, acolo se vor aduna şi vulturii!

And they answering say to him, `Where, sir?' and he said to them, `Where the body, there will the eagles be gathered together.'
