1 V oi cânta mereu îndurările Domnului, din generaţie în generaţie voi face cunoscută credincioşia Ta cu gura mea.

An instruction, by Ethan the Ezrahite. Of the kind acts of Jehovah, to the age I sing, To all generations I make known Thy faithfulness with my mouth,

2 C ăci zic: „Îndurarea Ta are temelii veşnice şi în ceruri Ţi-ai întărit credincioşia!“

For I said, `To the age is kindness built, The heavens! Thou dost establish Thy faithfulness in them.'

3 „ Am încheiat un legământ cu alesul Meu şi i-am jurat robului Meu David, zicând:

I have made a covenant for My chosen, I have sworn to David My servant:

4 « Îţi voi întări sămânţa pe vecie şi voi statornici tronul tău de-a lungul generaţiilor!»“ Sela

`Even to the age do I establish thy seed, And have built to generation and generation thy throne. Selah.

5 C erurile laudă minunile Tale, Doamne, precum şi credincioşia Ta în adunarea sfinţilor.

and the heavens confess Thy wonders, O Jehovah, Thy faithfulness also in an assembly of holy ones.

6 C ăci, în ceruri, cine se poate asemăna cu Domnul ? Este cineva ca Domnul printre fiii lui Dumnezeu ?

For who in the sky, Compareth himself to Jehovah? Is like to Jehovah among sons of the mighty?

7 D umnezeu este înfricoşător în marea adunare a sfinţilor şi înspăimântător pentru cei din preajma Lui.

God is very terrible, In the secret counsel of His holy ones, And fearful over all surrounding Him.

8 D oamne, Dumnezeu al Oştirilor, cine este ca Tine? Doamne, Tu eşti puternic, şi credincioşia Ta Te înconjoară!

O Jehovah, God of Hosts, Who like Thee -- a strong Jah? And Thy faithfulness round about Thee.

9 T u stăpâneşti semeţia mării; când i se ridică valurile, Tu i le linişteşti.

Thou ruler over the pride of the sea, In the lifting up of its billows Thou dost restrain them.

10 T u ai zdrobit Rahabul ca pe un stârv; cu braţul Tău puternic i-ai împrăştiat pe duşmanii Tăi.

Thou hast bruised Rahab, as one wounded. With the arm of Thy strength Thou hast scattered Thine enemies.

11 C erurile sunt ale Tale, aşa cum tot al Tău este şi pământul; Tu ai întemeiat lumea cu tot ce cuprinde ea!

Thine the heavens -- the earth also Thine, The habitable world and its fulness, Thou hast founded them.

12 T u ai creat nordul şi sudul. Taborul şi Hermonul strigă de bucurie la auzirea Numelui Tău.

North and south Thou hast appointed them, Tabor and Hermon in Thy name do sing.

13 B raţul Tău este tare, mâna Ta este puternică, dreapta Ta este înălţată.

Thou hast an arm with might, Strong is Thy hand -- high Thy right hand.

14 D reptatea şi judecata sunt temelia tronului Tău; îndurarea şi credincioşia merg înaintea Ta.

Righteousness and judgment the fixed place of Thy throne, Kindness and truth go before Thy face.

15 F erice de poporul care pricepe sunetul trâmbiţei şi care umblă în lumina feţei Tale,

O the happiness of the people knowing the shout, O Jehovah, in the light of Thy face they walk habitually.

16 c are se bucură din pricina Numelui Tău în fiecare zi şi se laudă cu dreptatea Ta,

In Thy name they rejoice all the day, And in Thy righteousness they are exalted,

17 c ăci slava puterii lui eşti Tu şi prin bunăvoinţa Ta ne înalţi puterea.

For the beauty of their strength Thou, And in Thy good will is our horn exalted,

18 D omnul este scutul nostru! Sfântul lui Israel este împăratul nostru!

For of Jehovah our shield, And of the Holy One of Israel our king.

19 A tunci ai vorbit printr-o vedenie şi le-ai spus credincioşilor Tăi: „I-am dat ajutor unui viteaz, am ales un tânăr din popor.

Then Thou hast spoken in vision, To Thy saint, yea, Thou sayest, I have placed help upon a mighty one, Exalted a chosen one out of the people,

20 L -am găsit pe robul Meu David şi l-am uns cu untdelemnul Meu cel sfânt.

I have found David My servant, With My holy oil I have anointed him.

21 M âna Mea îl va sprijini; da, braţul Meu îl va întări.

With whom My hand is established, My arm also doth strengthen him.

22 D uşmanul nu-i va pretinde tribut şi nelegiuitul nu-l va înjosi.

An enemy exacteth not upon him, And a son of perverseness afflicteth him not.

23 Î i voi zdrobi pe duşmanii lui dinaintea lui şi-i voi lovi pe cei ce-l urăsc.

And I have beaten down before him his adversaries, And those hating him I plague,

24 C redincioşia şi îndurarea Mea îl vor însoţi; puterea îi va fi înălţată prin Numele Meu.

And My faithfulness and kindness with him, And in My name is his horn exalted.

25 V oi da în mâna lui marea şi în dreapta lui râurile.

And I have set on the sea his hand, And on the rivers his right hand.

26 E l Mă va numi: «Tatăl meu, Dumnezeul meu, Stânca mântuirii mele!»

He proclaimeth me: `Thou my Father, My God, and the rock of my salvation.'

27 E u îl voi face întâi născut, cel mai înălţat dintre regii pământului.

I also first-born do appoint him, Highest of the kings of the earth.

28 Î i voi păstra îndurarea Mea pe vecie, iar legământul Meu cu el va rămâne.

To the age I keep for him My kindness, And My covenant stedfast with him.

29 Î i voi întări sămânţa pe veci şi voi întări tronul lui cât vor dăinui cerurile.

And I have set his seed for ever, And his throne as the days of the heavens.

30 D acă fiii lui vor părăsi Legea Mea şi nu vor trăi după judecăţile Mele,

If his sons forsake My law, And in My judgments do not walk;

31 d acă vor încălca decretele Mele şi nu vor păzi poruncile Mele,

If My statutes they pollute, And My commands do not keep,

32 a tunci le voi pedepsi păcatul cu toiagul şi vinovăţiile cu lovituri.

I have looked after with a rod their transgression, And with strokes their iniquity,

33 N u-mi voi îndepărta însă îndurarea de la el şi nu-Mi voi trăda credincioşia.

And My kindness I break not from him, Nor do I deal falsely in My faithfulness.

34 N u-Mi voi încălca legământul şi nu voi schimba ce Mi-a ieşit de pe buze.

I profane not My covenant, And that which is going forth from My lips I change not.

35 O dată ce am jurat pe sfinţenia Mea, nu-l voi minţi pe David!

Once I have sworn by My holiness, I lie not to David,

36 V eşnică-i va fi sămânţa, iar tronul lui va ţine cât va fi soarele înaintea Mea;

His seed is to the age, And his throne as the sun before Me,

37 v a fi întărit pe veci precum luna, martorul cel credincios de pe cer.“ Sela

As the moon it is established -- to the age, And the witness in the sky is stedfast. Selah.

38 D ar Tu l-ai respins, l-ai îndepărtat, te-ai mâniat pe unsul Tău.

And Thou, Thou hast cast off, and dost reject, Thou hast shown Thyself wroth With Thine anointed,

39 A i nesocotit legământul cu robul Tău, i-ai pângărit coroana în ţărână,

Hast rejected the covenant of Thy servant, Thou hast polluted to the earth his crown,

40 i -ai dărâmat toate zidurile, i-ai prefăcut fortificaţiile în ruine,

Thou hast broken down all his hedges, Thou hast made his fenced places a ruin.

41 l -au jefuit toţi trecătorii şi a ajuns de batjocura vecinilor.

Spoiled him have all passing by the way, He hath been a reproach to his neighbours,

42 A i înălţat dreapta duşmanilor lui şi i-ai înveselit pe toţi potrivnicii lui.

Thou hast exalted the right hand of his adversaries, Thou hast caused all his enemies to rejoice.

43 D e asemenea, ai făcut ca tăişul sabiei lui să dea înapoi şi nu l-ai sprijinit în luptă.

Also -- Thou turnest back the sharpness of his sword, And hast not established him in battle,

44 I -ai pus capăt strălucirii, iar tronul i l-ai azvârlit la pământ.

Hast caused to cease from his brightness, And his throne to the earth hast cast down.

45 I -ai scurtat zilele tinereţii sale şi l-ai acoperit cu ruşine. Sela

Thou hast shortened the days of his youth, Hast covered him over shame. Selah.

46 D oamne, până când? Vei sta ascuns pentru totdeauna? Până când va mai arde mânia Ta ca un foc?

Till when, O Jehovah, art Thou hidden? For ever doth Thy fury burn as fire?

47 A du-Ţi aminte cât de scurtă este viaţa mea şi pentru ce deşertăciune i-ai creat pe toţi oamenii!

Remember, I pray Thee, what life-time? Wherefore in vain hast Thou created All the sons of men?

48 E ste oare vreun om care să poată trăi şi să nu vadă moartea sau care să-şi scape sufletul din gheara Locuinţei Morţilor? Sela

Who the man that liveth, and doth not see death? He delivereth his soul from the hand of Sheol. Selah.

49 S tăpâne, unde sunt îndurările Tale de la început, pe care, în credincioşia Ta, i le-ai promis prin jurământ lui David?

Where Thy former kindnesses, O Lord. Thou hast sworn to David in Thy faithfulness,

50 S tăpâne, adu-Ţi aminte de batjocura îndurată de robul Tău, pe care o port în piept din partea multor popoare,

Remember, O Lord, the reproach of Thy servants, I have borne in my bosom all the strivings of the peoples,

51 b atjocura cu care m-au ocărât duşmanii Tăi, Doamne, cu care au ocărât până şi paşii unsului Tău!

Wherewith Thine enemies reproached, O Jehovah, Wherewith they have reproached The steps of Thine anointed.

52 B inecuvântat să fie Domnul în veci! Amin! Amin!

Blessed Jehovah to the age. Amen, and amen!
