1 O , Dumnezeu al răzbunărilor! O, Doamne! O, Dumnezeu al răzbunărilor, străluceşte Tu!

God of vengeance -- Jehovah! God of vengeance, shine forth.

2 R idică-Te, Judecător al pământului; răsplăteşte celor mândri după mândria lor!

Be lifted up, O Judge of the earth, Send back a recompence on the proud.

3 P ână când vor triumfa cei răi, Doamne, până când?

Till when the wicked, O Jehovah? Till when do the wicked exult?

4 E i bolborosesc, vorbesc cu trufie, toţi cei ce săvârşesc nelegiuirea se laudă.

They utter -- they speak an old saw, All working iniquity do boast themselves.

5 A supresc pe poporul Tău, Doamne, apasă asupra moştenirii Tale.

Thy people, O Jehovah, they bruise, And Thine inheritance they afflict.

6 Î i omoară pe văduvă şi pe străin; îl ucid pe orfan.

Widow and sojourner they slay, And fatherless ones they murder.

7 E i zic: „Nu vede Domnul! Dumnezeul lui Iacov nu ia aminte!“

And they say, `Jehovah doth not see, And the God of Jacob doth not consider.'

8 L uaţi aminte, voi, oameni fără minte din popor! Neghiobilor, când vă veţi deştepta?

Consider, ye brutish among the people, And ye foolish, when do ye act wisely?

9 S ă nu audă Cel Ce a sădit urechea? Să nu vadă Cel Ce a plăsmuit ochiul?

He who planteth the ear doth He not hear? He who formeth the eye doth He not see?

10 S ă nu mustre oare Cel Ce disciplinează neamurile, Cel Ce învaţă pe om cunoaşterea?

He who is instructing nations, Doth He not reprove? He who is teaching man knowledge Jehovah.

11 D omnul cunoaşte gândurile omului; ştie că sunt zadarnice.

He knoweth the thoughts of man, that they vanity.

12 F erice de bărbatul pe care-l disciplinezi Tu, Doamne, şi pe care-l înveţi din Legea Ta,

O the happiness of the man Whom Thou instructest, O Jah, And out of Thy law teachest him,

13 c a să-l linişteşti în zilele cele rele, până se va săpa groapa celui rău.

To give rest to him from days of evil, While a pit is digged for the wicked.

14 D omnul nu-Şi părăseşte poporul, nici nu-Şi uită moştenirea!

For Jehovah leaveth not His people, And His inheritance forsaketh not.

15 C ăci din nou se va face judecată cu dreptate şi toţi cei cu inima cinstită o vor urma.

For to righteousness judgment turneth back, And after it all the upright of heart,

16 C ine se va ridica pentru mine împotriva celor răi? Cine va lua poziţie pentru mine împotriva celor ce săvârşesc nelegiuirea?

Who riseth up for me with evil doers? Who stationeth himself for me with workers of iniquity?

17 D acă Domnul nu ar fi ajutorul meu, foarte curând sufletul meu ar fi culcat în tăcerea morţii.

Unless Jehovah a help to me, My soul had almost inhabited silence.

18 C ând zic: „Mi se clatină piciorul!“, îndurarea Ta, Doamne, mă sprijină!

If I have said, `My foot hath slipped,' Thy kindness, O Jehovah, supporteth me.

19 Î n mulţimea frământărilor mele lăuntrice, alinările Tale îmi încântă sufletul.

In the abundance of my thoughts within me, Thy comforts delight my soul.

20 P oate oare un tron corupt să Ţi se alăture, unul care plăsmuieşte necazul prin decret?

Is a throne of mischief joined Thee? A framer of perverseness by statute?

21 E i uneltesc împotriva sufletului celui drept şi osândesc sânge nevinovat.

They decree against the soul of the righteous, And innocent blood declare wicked.

22 D omnul este întăritura mea! Dumnezeul meu este stânca mea de adăpost!

And Jehovah is for a high place to me, And my God for a rock -- my refuge,

23 E l le va răsplăti după nelegiuirea lor şi-i va nimici pentru răutatea lor; Domnul, Dumnezeul nostru, îi va nimici.

And turneth back on them their iniquity, And in their wickedness cutteth them off; Jehovah our God doth cut them off!
