1 C ăpeteniile clanurilor levitice s-au apropiat de preotul Elazar, de Iosua, fiul lui Nun, şi de căpeteniile clanurilor din seminţiile israeliţilor,

And the heads of the fathers of the Levites draw nigh unto Eleazar the priest, and unto Joshua son of Nun, and unto the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the sons of Israel,

2 l a Şilo, în Canaan, şi le-au vorbit astfel: „ Domnul a poruncit prin Moise să ni se dea cetăţi de locuit şi păşuni pentru animalele noastre.“

and they speak unto them in Shiloh, in the land of Canaan, saying, `Jehovah commanded by the hand of Moses to give to us cities to dwell in, and their suburbs for our cattle.'

3 A tunci israeliţii le-au dat leviţilor, pe teritoriul moştenirii lor, următoarele cetăţi cu păşunile din jur, aşa cum poruncise Domnul.

And the sons of Israel give to the Levites, out of their inheritance, at the command of Jehovah, these cities and their suburbs:

4 O parte a ieşit la sorţi pentru clanurile chehatiţilor; acestor leviţi, care erau urmaşii preotului Aaron, li s-au dat treisprezece cetăţi pe teritoriul seminţiilor lui Iuda, a lui Simeon şi a lui Beniamin.

And the lot goeth out for the families of the Kohathite, and there are for the sons of Aaron the priest (of the Levites), out of the tribe of Judah, and out of the tribe of Simeon, and out of the tribe of Benjamin, by lot thirteen cities,

5 C elorlalţi urmaşi ai lui Chehat li s-au dat zece cetăţi pe teritoriul clanurilor din seminţia lui Efraim, din seminţia lui Dan şi din jumătatea seminţiei lui Manase.

and for the sons of Kohath who are left, out of the families of the tribe of Ephraim, and out of the tribe of Dan, and out of the half of the tribe of Manasseh, by lot ten cities:

6 U rmaşilor lui Gherşon li s-au dat treisprezece cetăţi pe teritoriul clanurilor din seminţia lui Isahar, din seminţia lui Aşer, din seminţia lui Neftali şi din jumătatea seminţiei lui Manase, care ocupa Başanul.

And for the sons of Gershon, out of the families of the tribe of Issachar, and out of the tribe of Asher, and out of the tribe of Naphtali, and out of the half tribe of Manasseh in Bashan, by lot, thirteen cities.

7 U rmaşilor lui Merari li s-au dat douăsprezece cetăţi pe teritoriul clanurilor din seminţia lui Ruben, din seminţia lui Gad şi din seminţia lui Zabulon.

For the sons of Merari, for their families,, out of the tribe of Reuben, and out of the tribe of Gad, and out of the tribe of Zebulun, twelve cities.

8 I sraeliţii au dat astfel leviţilor cetăţile acestea cu păşunile din jur, aşa cum poruncise Domnul prin Moise.

And the sons of Israel give to the Levites these cities and their suburbs, as Jehovah commanded by the hand of Moses, by lot.

9 P e teritoriul seminţiei urmaşilor lui Iuda şi al seminţiei urmaşilor lui Simeon au dat următoarele cetăţi menţionate pe nume,

And they give out of the tribe of the sons of Judah, and out of the tribe of the sons of Simeon, these cities which are called by name;

10 c etăţi care au revenit urmaşilor lui Aaron din clanurile chehatiţilor (urmaşii lui Levi), căci ei au ieşit primii la sorţi:

and they are for the sons of Aaron, of the families of the Kohathite, of the sons of Levi, for theirs hath been the first lot;

11 l e-au dat Chiriat-Arba (Hebron) – Arba fusese tatăl lui Anac – cu păşunile din jur, în regiunea muntoasă a lui Iuda;

and they give to them the city of Arba father of Anak (it Hebron), in the hill-country of Judah, and its suburbs round about it;

12 î nsă câmpia cetăţii şi satele dimprejurul ei i-au fost date ca moştenire, lui Caleb, fiul lui Iefune.

and the field of the city and its villages they have given to Caleb son of Jephunneh for his possession.

13 A u dat deci Hebronul urmaşilor preotului Aaron, ca cetate de refugiu pentru ucigaşi, cu păşunile din jur, precum şi Libna cu păşunile din jur,

And to the sons of Aaron the priest they have given the city of refuge the man-slayer, Hebron and its suburbs, and Libnah and its suburbs,

14 I atir cu păşunile din jur, Eştemoa cu păşunile din jur,

and Jattir and its suburbs, and Eshtemoa and its suburbs,

15 H olon cu păşunile din jur, Debir cu păşunile din jur,

and Holon and its suburbs, and Debir and its suburbs,

16 A yin cu păşunile din jur, Iuta cu păşunile din jur şi Bet-Şemeş cu păşunile din jur – nouă cetăţi pe teritoriul acestor două seminţii;

and Ain and its suburbs, and Juttah and its suburbs, Beth-Shemesh and its suburbs; nine cities out of these two tribes.

17 p e teritoriul seminţiei lui Beniamin le-au dat: Ghivon cu păşunile din jur, Gheva cu păşunile din jur,

And out of the tribe of Benjamin, Gibeon and its suburbs, Geba and its suburbs,

18 A natot cu păşunile din jur şi Almon cu păşunile din jur – patru cetăţi.

Anathoth and its suburbs, and Almon and its suburbs -- four cities;

19 T oate cetăţile preoţilor, urmaşii lui Aaron, cu păşunile din jurul lor erau în număr de treisprezece.

all the cities of the sons of Aaron the priests, thirteen cities and their suburbs.

20 C elorlalţi leviţi care au mai rămas din clanurile urmaşilor lui Chehat, li s-au dat cetăţi pe teritoriul seminţiei lui Efraim:

And for the families of the sons of Kohath, the Levites, who are left of the sons of Kohath, even the cities of their lot are of the tribe of Ephraim;

21 l e-au dat Şehem, cetatea de refugiu pentru ucigaşi, cu păşunile din jur, în regiunea muntoasă a lui Efraim, Ghezer cu păşunile din jur,

and they give to them the city of refuge the man-slayer, Shechem and its suburbs, in the hill-country of Ephraim, and Gezer and its suburbs,

22 C hibţayim cu păşunile din jur şi Bet-Horon cu păşunile din jur – patru cetăţi;

and Kibzaim and its suburbs, and Beth-Horon and its suburbs -- four cities.

23 p e teritoriul seminţiei lui Dan le-au dat: Elteke cu păşunile din jur, Ghibeton cu păşunile din jur,

And out of the tribe of Dan, Eltekeh and its suburbs, Gibbethon and its suburbs,

24 A ialon cu păşunile din jur şi Gat-Rimon cu păşunile din jur – patru cetăţi;

Aijalon and its suburbs, Gath-Rimmon and its suburbs -- four cities.

25 p e teritoriul jumătăţii seminţiei lui Manase le-au dat: Taanah cu păşunile din jur şi Ibleam cu păşunile din jur – două cetăţi.

And out of the half of the tribe of Manasseh, Taanach and its suburbs, and Gath-Rimmon and its suburbs -- two cities;

26 T oate cetăţile date clanurilor care au rămas din urmaşii lui Chehat, cu păşunile din jur, erau în număr de zece.

all the cities ten and their suburbs, for the families of the sons of Kohath who are left.

27 G herşoniţilor, unul din clanurile leviţilor, le-au fost date, pe teritoriul jumătăţii seminţiei lui Manase, următoarele: Golan, cetatea de refugiu pentru ucigaşi, care era în Başan, cu păşunile din jur şi Aştarot, cu păşunile din jur – două cetăţi;

And for the sons of Gershon, of the families of the Levites, out of the half of the tribe of Manasseh, the city of refuge the man-slayer, Golan in Bashan and its suburbs, and Beeshterah and its suburbs -- two cities.

28 p e teritoriul seminţiei lui Isahar le-au dat: Kişion cu păşunile din jur, Dabrat cu păşunile din jur,

And out of the tribe of Issachar, Kishon and its suburbs, Dabarath and its suburbs,

29 I armut cu păşunile din jur şi En-Ganim cu păşunile din jur – patru cetăţi;

Jarmuth and its suburbs, En-Gannim and its suburbs -- four cities.

30 p e teritoriul seminţiei lui Aşer le-au dat: Mişal cu păşunile din jur, Abdon cu păşunile din jur,

And out of the tribe of Asher, Mishal and its suburbs, Abdon and its suburbs,

31 H elkat cu păşunile din jur şi Rehob cu păşunile din jur – patru cetăţi;

Helkath and its suburbs, and Rehob and its suburbs -- four cities.

32 p e teritoriul seminţiei lui Neftali le-au dat: Kedeş, cetatea de refugiu pentru ucigaşi, care era în Galileea, cu păşunile din jur, Hamot-Dor cu păşunile din jur şi Kartan cu păşunile din jur – trei cetăţi.

And out of the tribe of Naphtali, the city of refuge the man-slayer, Kedesh in Galilee and its suburbs, and Hammoth-Dor and its suburbs, and Kartan and its suburbs -- three cities;

33 T oate cetăţile clanurilor gherşoniţilor erau în număr de treisprezece, fiecare cetate cu păşunile din jur.

all the cities of the Gershonite, for their families, thirteen cities and their suburbs.

34 C elorlalţi leviţi care au mai rămas din clanurile urmaşilor lui Merari, le-au fost date următoarele: pe teritoriul seminţiei lui Zabulon le-au dat: Iokneam cu păşunile din jur, Karta cu păşunile din jur,

And for the families of the sons of Merari, the Levites, who are left, out of the tribe of Zebulun, Jokneam and its suburbs, Kartah and its suburbs,

35 D imna cu păşunile din jur şi Nahalal cu păşunile din jur – patru cetăţi;

Dimnah and its suburbs, Nahalal and its suburbs -- four cities.

36 p e teritoriul seminţiei lui Ruben le-au dat: Beţer cu păşunile din jur, Iahaţ cu păşunile din jur,

And out of the tribe of Reuben, Bezer and its suburbs, and Jahazah and its suburbs,

37 C hedemot cu păşunile din jur şi Mefaat cu păşunile din jur – patru cetăţi;

Kedemoth and its suburbs, and Mephaath and its suburbs -- four cities.

38 p e teritoriul seminţiei lui Gad le-au dat: Ramot, cetatea de refugiu pentru ucigaşi, care era în Ghilad, cu păşunile din jur, Mahanayim cu păşunile din jur,

And out of the tribe of Gad, the city of refuge the man-slayer, Ramoth in Gilead and its suburbs, and Mahanaim and its suburbs,

39 H eşbon cu păşunile din jur şi Iazer cu păşunile din jur – în total patru cetăţi.

Heshbon and its suburbs, Jazer and its suburbs -- all four cities.

40 T oate cetăţile date clanurilor urmaşilor lui Merari, adică clanurilor leviţilor care mai rămăseseră, erau în număr de douăsprezece.

All the cities for the sons of Merari, for their families, who are left of the families of the Levites -- their lot is twelve cities.

41 T oate cetăţile leviţilor care erau pe teritoriul israeliţilor, împreună cu păşunile din jur, erau în număr de patruzeci şi opt.

All the cities of the Levites in the midst of the possession of the sons of Israel forty and eight cities, and their suburbs.

42 F iecare din aceste cetăţi îşi avea păşunile ei de jur împrejur; aşa era fiecare dintre aceste cetăţi. Împlinirea promisiunilor

These cities are each city and its suburbs round about it; so to all these cities.

43 D omnul a dat astfel lui Israel toată ţara pe care a jurat părinţilor lor că le-o va da, iar ei au luat-o în stăpânire şi au locuit în ea.

And Jehovah giveth to Israel the whole of the land which He hath sworn to give to their fathers, and they possess it, and dwell in it;

44 D omnul le-a dat odihnă din toate părţile, aşa cum jurase părinţilor lor. Nimeni nu le-a putut sta împotrivă. Domnul i-a dat pe toţi duşmanii în mâna lor.

and Jehovah giveth rest to them round about, according to all that which He hath sworn to their fathers, and there hath not stood a man in their presence of all their enemies, the whole of their enemies hath Jehovah given into their hand;

45 N u a rămas neîmplinit nici unul din lucrurile bune pe care Domnul le-a promis Casei lui Israel. Toate s-au împlinit.

there hath not fallen a thing of all the good thing which Jehovah spake unto the house of Israel -- the whole hath come.
