1 „ Tu, fiul omului, profeţeşte cu privire la munţii lui Israel şi spune-le: «Munţi ai lui Israel, ascultaţi Cuvântul Domnului!

And thou, son of man, prophesy unto mountains of Israel, and thou hast said, O mountains of Israel, hear a word of Jehovah.

2 A şa vorbeşte Stăpânul Domn: duşmanul a zis despre voi: ‘Ha! Ha! Aceste înălţimi străvechi au devenit moştenirea noastră!’»

Thus said the Lord Jehovah: Because the enemy said against you, Aha, and the high places of old for a possession have been to us,

3 D e aceea profeţeşte şi spune că aşa vorbeşte Stăpânul Domn: «Da, pentru că v-au pustiit şi v-au strivit din toate părţile, devenind astfel proprietatea celorlalte neamuri, şi pentru că aţi ajuns o pricină de batjocură şi de bârfă pentru popoare,

therefore, prophesy, and thou hast said: Thus said the Lord Jehovah: Because, even because, of desolating, And of swallowing you up from round about, For your being a possession to the remnant of the nations, And ye are taken up on the tip of the tongue, And an evil report of the people.

4 d e aceea, munţi ai lui Israel, ascultaţi Cuvântul Stăpânului Domn! Aşa vorbeşte Stăpânul Domn munţilor, dealurilor, albiilor, văilor, ruinelor pustii şi cetăţilor părăsite, care au fost jefuite şi batjocorite de restul neamurilor din jurul vostru.

Therefore, O mountains of Israel, Hear a word of the Lord Jehovah: Thus said the Lord Jehovah, to mountains, and to hills, To streams, and to valleys, And to wastes that desolate, And to cities that are forsaken, That have been for a prey, And for a scorn, to the remnant of the nations who round about.

5 A şa vorbeşte Stăpânul Domn: ‘În focul geloziei Mele am ceva de spus împotriva neamurilor înconjurătoare şi împotriva întregului Edom, pentru că au făcut din ţara Mea moştenirea lor şi s-au bucurat din toată inima lor şi cu dispreţ în sufletul lor să-i jefuiască păşunea.’»

Therefore, thus said the Lord Jehovah: Have I not, in the fire of My jealousy, Spoken against the remnant of the nations, And against Edom -- all of it, Who gave My land to themselves for a possession, With the joy of the whole heart -- with despite of soul, For the sake of casting it out for a prey?

6 P rofeţeşte cu privire la ţara lui Israel şi spune-le munţilor, dealurilor, albiilor şi văilor că aşa vorbeşte Stăpânul Domn: «Iată, în gelozia şi furia Mea am ceva de spus, din pricina batjocurii pe care aţi suferit-o din partea neamurilor.

Therefore, prophesy concerning the ground of Israel, And thou hast said to mountains, and to hills, To streams, and to valleys, Thus said the Lord Jehovah: Lo, I, in My jealousy, and in My fury, I have spoken, Because the shame of nations ye have borne.

7 A şa vorbeşte Stăpânul Domn: Îmi ridic mâna şi jur că neamurile din jurul vostru îşi vor purta şi ele partea lor de batjocură.

Therefore, thus said the Lord Jehovah: I -- I have lifted up My hand, Do not -- the nations who with you from round about -- they their own shame bear?

8 C ât despre voi, munţi ai lui Israel, veţi avea iarăşi ramuri şi veţi purta din nou rod pentru poporul Meu, Israel, căci se va întoarce în curând.

And ye, O mountains of Israel, Your branch ye give out, and your fruits ye bear for My people Israel, For they have drawn near to come.

9 I ată, Eu Însumi sunt alături de voi! Mă voi întoarce spre voi şi astfel veţi fi lucraţi şi semănaţi.

For, lo, I for you, and have turned to you, And ye have been tilled and sown.

10 V oi pune să locuiască pe voi mulţi oameni, toţi cei din Casa lui Israel! Cetăţile vor fi din nou locuite, iar ruinele vor fi rezidite.

And I have multiplied on you men, All the house of Israel -- all of it, And the cities have been inhabited, And the wastes are built.

11 V oi înmulţi pe voi numărul oamenilor şi al animalelor; ei vor deveni numeroşi şi vor fi roditori. Voi face să fiţi locuiţi ca odinioară şi vă voi face mai mult bine decât la început. Şi veţi şti astfel că Eu sunt Domnul.

And I have multiplied on you man and beast, And they have multiplied and been fruitful, And I have caused you to dwell according to your former states, And I have done better than at your beginnings, And ye have known that I Jehovah.

12 V oi face să umble iarăşi pe voi oameni şi anume cei din poporul Meu, Israel. Ei vă vor lua din nou în stăpânire şi veţi fi moştenirea lor; nu-i veţi mai lăsa niciodată fără urmaşi.»

And I have caused man to walk over you, -- My people Israel, And they possess thee, and thou hast been to them for an inheritance, And thou dost add no more to bereave them.

13 A şa vorbeşte Stăpânul Domn: « Ţară, pentru că s-a zis despre tine că devorezi oameni şi că ţi-ai sărăcit neamul de copii,

Thus said the Lord Jehovah: Because they are saying to you: A devourer of men thou, And a bereaver of thy nations thou hast been,

14 d e aceea nu vei mai devora oameni şi nu-ţi vei mai sărăci neamul de copii, zice Stăpânul Domn.

Therefore, man thou devourest no more, And thy nations thou causest not to stumble any more, An affirmation of the Lord Jehovah.

15 N u-ţi voi mai da prilej să auzi batjocura neamurilor îndreptată spre tine, nu vei mai purta dispreţul popoarelor şi nu-ţi vei mai face neamul să cadă, zice Stăpânul Domn.»“

And I proclaim not unto thee any more the shame of the nations, And the reproach of peoples thou bearest no more, And thy nations stumble not any more, An affirmation of the Lord Jehovah.'

16 C uvântul Domnului a venit la mine şi mi-a zis:

And there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying,

17 „ Fiul omului, cei din Casa lui Israel locuiau în patria lor, dar au spurcat-o prin purtarea lor şi prin faptele lor. Purtarea lor era înaintea Mea la fel de necurată ca necurăţia femeii.

`Son of man, The house of Israel are dwelling on their land, And they defile it by their way and by their doings, As the uncleanness of a separated one hath their way been before Me.

18 A tunci Mi-am revărsat furia peste ei din pricina sângelui pe care îl vărsaseră în ţară şi din pricina idolilor cu care o spurcaseră.

And I do pour out My fury upon them For the blood that they shed on the land, And with their idols they have defiled it.

19 I -am risipit printre neamuri şi ei au fost împrăştiaţi prin ţări străine, din pricina purtării lor şi din pricina faptelor lor.

And I scatter them among nations, And they are spread through lands, According to their way, and according to their doings, I have judged them.

20 C ând au ajuns printre neamuri, oriunde s-au dus, au profanat Numele Meu cel sfânt, căci se zicea despre ei: «Aceştia sunt cei din poporul Domnului care au trebuit să iasă din ţara lor!»

And one goeth in unto the nations whither they have gone, And they pollute My holy name by saying to them, The people of Jehovah these, And from His land they have gone forth.

21 D ar am vrut să scap cinstea Numelui Meu cel sfânt pe care-l profanau cei din Casa lui Israel printre neamurile unde ajunseseră.“

And I have pity on My holy name, That the house of Israel have polluted among nations whither they have gone in.

22 P rin urmare, spune-le celor din Casa lui Israel că aşa vorbeşte Stăpânul Domn: «Nu de dragul vostru fac aceste lucruri, Casă a lui Israel, ci de dragul Numelui Meu cel sfânt, pe care voi l-aţi profanat în mijlocul neamurilor unde aţi ajuns.

Therefore, say to the house of Israel, Thus said the Lord Jehovah: Not for your sake am I working, O house of Israel, But -- for My holy name, That ye have polluted among nations whither ye have gone in.

23 Î mi voi sfinţi Numele Meu cel mare care a fost profanat printre neamuri, Numele pe care voi l-aţi profanat în mijlocul lor. Şi neamurile vor şti că Eu sunt Domnul, zice Stăpânul Domn, când Mă voi arăta sfânt prin voi înaintea ochilor lor.

And I have sanctified My great name, That is profaned among nations, That ye have polluted in your midst, And known have the nations that I Jehovah, An affirmation of the Lord Jehovah, In My being sanctified in you before your eyes.

24 V ă voi lua dintre neamuri, vă voi strânge din toate ţările străine şi vă voi aduce în patria voastră.

And I have taken you out of the nations, And have gathered you out of all the lands, And I have brought you in unto your land,

25 V ă voi stropi cu apă curată şi veţi fi curăţiţi. Vă voi curăţi de toate necurăţiile voastre şi de toţi idolii voştri.

And I have sprinkled over you clean water, And ye have been clean; From all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols, I do cleanse you.

26 V ă voi da o inimă nouă şi voi pune înăuntrul vostru un duh nou. Voi îndepărta inima de piatră din trupul vostru şi vă voi da o inimă de carne.

And I have given to you a new heart, And a new spirit I give in your midst, And I have turned aside the heart of stone out of your flesh, And I have given to you a heart of flesh.

27 V oi pune Duhul Meu înăuntrul vostru şi vă voi face să urmaţi hotărârile Mele, să păziţi legile Mele şi să le împliniţi.

And My Spirit I give in your midst, And I have done this, so that in My statutes ye walk, And My judgments ye keep, and have done them.

28 V eţi locui în ţara pe care am dat-o strămoşilor voştri. Voi veţi fi poporul Meu, iar Eu voi fi Dumnezeul vostru.

And ye have dwelt in the land that I have given to your fathers, And ye have been to Me for a people, And I -- I am to you for God.

29 V ă voi scăpa de toate necurăţiile voastre. Voi chema grânele şi le voi înmulţi şi nu voi mai trimite foametea peste voi.

And I have saved you from all your uncleannesses, And I have called unto the corn, and multiplied it, And I have put no famine upon you.

30 V oi înmulţi roadele pomilor şi recolta câmpului, ca să nu mai fiţi de dispreţ printre neamuri din cauza foametei.

And I have multiplied the fruit of the tree, And the increase of the field, So that ye receive not any more a reproach of famine among nations.

31 A tunci vă veţi aduce aminte de purtarea voastră cea rea şi de faptele voastre care n-au fost bune şi vă va fi scârbă de voi înşivă din pricina fărădelegilor şi urâciunilor voastre.

And ye have remembered your ways that evil, And your doings that not good, And have been loathsome in your own faces, For your iniquities, and for your abominations.

32 D ar să ştiţi că lucrurile acestea nu le fac de dragul vostru, zice Stăpânul Domn. Ruşinaţi-vă şi umiliţi-vă din pricina umbletelor voastre, voi, cei din Casa lui Israel!»

Not for your sake am I working, An affirmation of the Lord Jehovah, Be it known to you, Be ashamed and confounded, because of your ways, O house of Israel.

33 A şa vorbeşte Stăpânul Domn: «În ziua când vă voi curăţi de toate fărădelegile voastre, voi face ca cetăţile voastre să fie din nou locuite şi ruinele să fie rezidite.

Thus said the Lord Jehovah: In the day of My cleansing you from all your iniquities, I have caused the cities to be inhabited, And the wastes have been built,

34 Ţ ara pustiită va fi din nou lucrată şi nu va mai fi o pustietate în ochii tuturor trecătorilor.

And the desolate land is tilled, Instead of which it was a desolation before the eyes of every passer by,

35 A tunci ei vor spune: ‘Ţara aceasta care era pustiită, a ajuns precum grădina Edenului, iar cetăţile care zăceau în ruine, pustiite şi dărâmate, au ajuns aşezări fortificate!’

And they have said: This land, that was desolated, Hath been as the garden of Eden, And the cities -- the wasted, And the desolated, and the broken down, Fenced places have remained.

36 Ş i neamurile care vor rămâne împrejurul vostru vor şti atunci că Eu, Domnul, am rezidit dărâmăturile şi am resădit ce fusese pustiit. Eu, Domnul, am vorbit şi voi face întocmai.»

And known have the nations who are left round about you, That I Jehovah have built the thrown down, I have planted the desolated: I Jehovah have spoken, and I have done.

37 A şa vorbeşte Stăpânul Domn: «Pe lângă toate aceste lucruri Mă voi lăsa înduplecat de cei din Casa lui Israel şi iată ce voi face pentru ei: îi voi înmulţi pe oameni ca pe o turmă de oi.

Thus said the Lord Jehovah: Yet this I am required, By the house of Israel to do to them, I multiply them as a flock of men,

38 L a fel de numeroase ca turmele pentru jertfe, ca turmele care sunt aduse la Ierusalim la sărbătorile periodice, aşa de pline cu turme de oameni vor fi şi cetăţile lor părăsite. Şi vor şti astfel că Eu sunt Domnul. »“

As a flock of holy ones, as a flock of Jerusalem, In her appointed seasons, So are the waste cities full of flocks of men, And they have known that I Jehovah!'
