1 T u, fiul omului, prooroceşte asupra munţilor lui Israel, şi spune:,, Munţi ai lui Israel, ascultaţi Cuvîntul Domnului!

And thou, son of man, prophesy unto mountains of Israel, and thou hast said, O mountains of Israel, hear a word of Jehovah.

2 A şa vorbeşte Domnul Dumnezeu:, Pentrucă vrăjmaşul a zis despre voi:, Ha! Ha! Aceste înălţimi vecinice au ajuns moştenirea noastră!`

Thus said the Lord Jehovah: Because the enemy said against you, Aha, and the high places of old for a possession have been to us,

3 p rooroceşte şi zi:, Aşa vorbeşte Domnul Dumnezeu:, Da, pentrucă din toate părţile au voit să vă pustiiască şi să vă înghită, ca să ajungeţi moştenirea altor neamuri, şi pentrucă aţi fost de batjocura şi de ocara popoarelor,

therefore, prophesy, and thou hast said: Thus said the Lord Jehovah: Because, even because, of desolating, And of swallowing you up from round about, For your being a possession to the remnant of the nations, And ye are taken up on the tip of the tongue, And an evil report of the people.

4 d e aceea, munţi ai lui Israel, ascultaţi Cuvîntul Domnului Dumnezeu! Aşa vorbeşte Domnul Dumnezeu munţilor şi dealurilor, rîurilor şi văilor, dărîmăturilor pustii şi cetăţilor părăsite, cari au ajuns de prada şi de rîsul celorlalte neamuri din prejur;

Therefore, O mountains of Israel, Hear a word of the Lord Jehovah: Thus said the Lord Jehovah, to mountains, and to hills, To streams, and to valleys, And to wastes that desolate, And to cities that are forsaken, That have been for a prey, And for a scorn, to the remnant of the nations who round about.

5 a şa vorbeşte Domnul Dumnezeu:,, Da, în focul geloziei Mele, vorbesc împotriva celorlalte neamuri şi împotriva întregului Edom, cari şi-au însuşit ţara Mea, şi s'au bucurat din toată inima lor şi cu tot dispreţul sufletului lor, ca să -i jăfuiască roadele.

Therefore, thus said the Lord Jehovah: Have I not, in the fire of My jealousy, Spoken against the remnant of the nations, And against Edom -- all of it, Who gave My land to themselves for a possession, With the joy of the whole heart -- with despite of soul, For the sake of casting it out for a prey?

6 D e aceea, prooroceşte despre ţara lui Israel, şi spune munţilor şi dealurilor, rîurilor şi văilor:, Aşa vorbeşte Domnul Dumnezeu:, Iată, vorbesc în gelozia şi urgia Mea, pentrucă suferiţi ocară din partea neamurilor!``

Therefore, prophesy concerning the ground of Israel, And thou hast said to mountains, and to hills, To streams, and to valleys, Thus said the Lord Jehovah: Lo, I, in My jealousy, and in My fury, I have spoken, Because the shame of nations ye have borne.

7 D e aceea, aşa vorbeşte Domnul Dumnezeu:,,Îmi ridic mîna şi jur, că neamurile cari vă înconjoară, îşi vor purta ele însele ocara!

Therefore, thus said the Lord Jehovah: I -- I have lifted up My hand, Do not -- the nations who with you from round about -- they their own shame bear?

8 I ar voi, munţi ai lui Israel, veţi da crengi, şi vă veţi purta roadele pentru poporul Meu Israel, căci lucrurile acestea sînt aproape să se întîmple.

And ye, O mountains of Israel, Your branch ye give out, and your fruits ye bear for My people Israel, For they have drawn near to come.

9 I ată că voi fi binevoitor, Mă voi întoarce spre voi, şi veţi fi lucraţi şi sămănaţi.

For, lo, I for you, and have turned to you, And ye have been tilled and sown.

10 V oi pune să locuiască pe voi oameni în mare număr, toată casa lui Israel, pe toţi! Cetăţile vor fi locuite, şi se vor zidi iarăş dărîmăturile.

And I have multiplied on you men, All the house of Israel -- all of it, And the cities have been inhabited, And the wastes are built.

11 V oi înmulţi pe oamenii şi vitele, cari vor creşte şi se vor înmulţi: voi face să fiţi locuiţi ca şi mai înainte, şi vă voi face mai mult bine decît odinioară; şi veţi şti că Eu sînt Domnul.

And I have multiplied on you man and beast, And they have multiplied and been fruitful, And I have caused you to dwell according to your former states, And I have done better than at your beginnings, And ye have known that I Jehovah.

12 V oi face să umble pe voi oameni, şi anume poporul Meu Israel; ei te vor stăpîni; şi tu vei fi moştenirea lor, şi nu -i vei mai nimici.``

And I have caused man to walk over you, -- My people Israel, And they possess thee, and thou hast been to them for an inheritance, And thou dost add no more to bereave them.

13 A şa vorbeşte Domnul Dumnezeu:,, Pentrucă ţi se zice:, Tu, ţară, ai mîncat oameni, ţi-ai nimicit chiar şi neamul tău,`

Thus said the Lord Jehovah: Because they are saying to you: A devourer of men thou, And a bereaver of thy nations thou hast been,

14 d in pricina aceasta, de acum încolo nu vei mai mînca oameni, şi nu-ţi vei mai nimici neamul, zice Domnul Dumnezeu.

Therefore, man thou devourest no more, And thy nations thou causest not to stumble any more, An affirmation of the Lord Jehovah.

15 D e acum, nu te voi mai face să auzi batjocurile neamurilor, şi nu vei mai purta ocara popoarelor; nu-ţi vei mai nimici neamul, zice Domnul Dumnezeu.``

And I proclaim not unto thee any more the shame of the nations, And the reproach of peoples thou bearest no more, And thy nations stumble not any more, An affirmation of the Lord Jehovah.'

16 C uvîntul Domnului mi -a vorbit astfel:

And there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying,

17 F iul omului, cei din casa lui Israel, cînd locuiau în ţara lor, au spurcat -o prin purtarea lor şi prin faptele lor; aşa că purtarea lor a fost înaintea Mea ca spurcăciunea unei femei în timpul necurăţiei ei.

`Son of man, The house of Israel are dwelling on their land, And they defile it by their way and by their doings, As the uncleanness of a separated one hath their way been before Me.

18 A tunci Mi-am vărsat urgia peste ei, din pricina sîngelui pe care -l vărsaseră în ţară, şi din pricina idolilor cu cari o spurcaseră.

And I do pour out My fury upon them For the blood that they shed on the land, And with their idols they have defiled it.

19 I -am risipit printre neamuri, şi au fost împrăştiaţi în felurite ţări; i-am judecat după purtarea şi faptele lor rele.

And I scatter them among nations, And they are spread through lands, According to their way, and according to their doings, I have judged them.

20 C înd au venit printre neamuri, ori încotro se duceau, pîngăreau Numele Meu cel sfînt, aşa încît se zicea despre ei:, Acesta este poporul Domnului, ei au trebuit să iasă din ţara lor.`

And one goeth in unto the nations whither they have gone, And they pollute My holy name by saying to them, The people of Jehovah these, And from His land they have gone forth.

21 Ş i am vrut să scap cinstea Numelui Meu celui sfînt, pe care -l pîngărea casa lui Israel printre neamurile la cari se dusese.``

And I have pity on My holy name, That the house of Israel have polluted among nations whither they have gone in.

22 D e aceea, spune casei lui Israel:, Aşa vorbeşte Domnul Dumnezeu:, Nu din pricina voastră fac aceste lucruri, casa lui Israel, ci din pricina Numelui Meu celui sfînt, pe care l-aţi pîngărit printre neamurile la cari aţi mers.

Therefore, say to the house of Israel, Thus said the Lord Jehovah: Not for your sake am I working, O house of Israel, But -- for My holy name, That ye have polluted among nations whither ye have gone in.

23 D e aceea voi sfinţi Numele Meu cel mare, care a fost pîngărit printre neamuri, pe care l-aţi pîngărit în mijlocul lor. Şi neamurile vor cunoaşte că Eu sînt Domnul, zice Domnul Dumnezeu, cînd voi fi sfinţit în voi supt ochii lor.

And I have sanctified My great name, That is profaned among nations, That ye have polluted in your midst, And known have the nations that I Jehovah, An affirmation of the Lord Jehovah, In My being sanctified in you before your eyes.

24 C ăci vă voi scoate dintre neamuri, vă voi strînge din toate ţările, şi vă voi aduce iarăş în ţara voastră.

And I have taken you out of the nations, And have gathered you out of all the lands, And I have brought you in unto your land,

25 V ă voi stropi cu apă curată, şi veţi fi curăţiţi; vă voi curăţi de toate spurcăciunile voastre şi de toţi idolii voştri.

And I have sprinkled over you clean water, And ye have been clean; From all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols, I do cleanse you.

26 V ă voi da o inimă nouă, şi voi pune în voi un duh nou; voi scoate din trupul vostru inima de piatră, şi vă voi da o inimă de carne.

And I have given to you a new heart, And a new spirit I give in your midst, And I have turned aside the heart of stone out of your flesh, And I have given to you a heart of flesh.

27 V oi pune Duhul Meu în voi, şi vă voi face să urmaţi poruncile Mele şi să păziţi şi să împliniţi legile Mele.

And My Spirit I give in your midst, And I have done this, so that in My statutes ye walk, And My judgments ye keep, and have done them.

28 V eţi locui în ţara, pe care am dat -o părinţilor voştri; voi veţi fi poporul Meu şi Eu voi fi Dumnezeul vostru.

And ye have dwelt in the land that I have given to your fathers, And ye have been to Me for a people, And I -- I am to you for God.

29 V ă voi izbăvi de toate necurăţiile voastre. Voi chema grîul, şi -l voi înmulţi; nu voi mai trimite foametea peste voi.

And I have saved you from all your uncleannesses, And I have called unto the corn, and multiplied it, And I have put no famine upon you.

30 V oi înmulţi rodul pomilor şi venitul cîmpului, ca să nu mai purtaţi ocara foametei printre neamuri.

And I have multiplied the fruit of the tree, And the increase of the field, So that ye receive not any more a reproach of famine among nations.

31 A tunci vă veţi aduce aminte de purtarea voastră cea rea, şi de faptele voastre, cari nu erau bune; vă va fi scîrbă de voi înşivă, din pricina nelegiuirilor şi urîciunilor voastre.

And ye have remembered your ways that evil, And your doings that not good, And have been loathsome in your own faces, For your iniquities, and for your abominations.

32 Ş i toate aceste lucruri nu le fac din pricina voastră, zice Domnul Dumnezeul, să ştiţi! Ruşinaţi-vă şi roşiţi de purtarea voastră, casa lui Israel!``

Not for your sake am I working, An affirmation of the Lord Jehovah, Be it known to you, Be ashamed and confounded, because of your ways, O house of Israel.

33 A şa vorbeşte Domnul Dumnezeu:,,În ziua cînd vă voi curăţi de toate nelegiuirile voastre, voi face ca cetăţile voastre să fie locuite, şi dărîmăturile vor fi zidite din nou;

Thus said the Lord Jehovah: In the day of My cleansing you from all your iniquities, I have caused the cities to be inhabited, And the wastes have been built,

34 ţ ara pustiită va fi lucrată iarăş, de unde pînă aici era pustie în ochii tuturor trecătorilor.

And the desolate land is tilled, Instead of which it was a desolation before the eyes of every passer by,

35 Ş i se va spune atunci:,Ţara aceasta pustiită a ajuns ca o grădină a Edenului; şi cetăţile acestea dărîmate, cari erau pustii şi surpate, sînt întărite şi locuite!`

And they have said: This land, that was desolated, Hath been as the garden of Eden, And the cities -- the wasted, And the desolated, and the broken down, Fenced places have remained.

36 Ş i neamurile, cari vor mai rămînea în jurul vostru, vor şti că Eu, Domnul, am zidit din nou ce era surpat, şi am sădit ce era pustiit. Eu, Domnul, am vorbit, şi voi şi face.``

And known have the nations who are left round about you, That I Jehovah have built the thrown down, I have planted the desolated: I Jehovah have spoken, and I have done.

37 A şa vorbeşte Domnul dumnezeu:,, Iată în ce privinţă Mă voi lăsa înduplecat de casa lui Israel, şi iată ce voi face pentru ei: voi înmulţi pe oameni ca pe o turmă de oi.

Thus said the Lord Jehovah: Yet this I am required, By the house of Israel to do to them, I multiply them as a flock of men,

38 C etăţile dărîmate se vor umplea cu turme de oameni, ca turmele închinate Domnului, cu turme cari sînt aduse la Ierusalim în timpul sărbătorilor celor mari. Şi vor şti că Eu sînt Domnul.``

As a flock of holy ones, as a flock of Jerusalem, In her appointed seasons, So are the waste cities full of flocks of men, And they have known that I Jehovah!'
