1 S ă iubeşti dar pe Domnul, Dumnezeul tău, şi să păzeşti totdeauna învăţăturile Lui, legile Lui, rînduielile Lui şi poruncile Lui.

`And thou hast loved Jehovah thy God, and kept His charge, and His statutes, and His judgments, and His commands, all the days;

2 R ecunoaşteţi astăzi-ce n'au putut recunoaşte şi vedea copiii voştri-pedepsele Domnului, Dumnezeului vostru, mărimea Lui, mîna Lui cea tare şi braţul Lui cel întins,

and ye have known to-day -- for it is not your sons who have not known, and who have not seen the chastisement of Jehovah your God, His greatness, His strong hand, and His stretched-out arm,

3 s emnele Lui şi faptele pe cari le -a săvîrşit în mijlocul Egiptului împotriva lui Faraon, împăratul Egiptului, şi împotriva întregei lui ţări.

and His signs, and His doings, which He hath done in the midst of Egypt, to Pharaoh king of Egypt, and to all his land;

4 R ecunoaşteţi ce a făcut El oştirii Egiptului, cailor lui şi carălor lui, cum a făcut să vină peste ei apele mării Roşii,

and that which He hath done to the force of Egypt, to its horses, and to its chariot, when He hath caused the waters of the Red Sea to flow against their faces in their pursuing after them, and Jehovah destroyeth them, unto this day;

5 c înd vă urmăreau, şi i -a nimicit pentru totdeauna;

and that which He hath done to you in the wilderness, till your coming in unto this place;

6 c e v'a făcut în pustie, pînă la venirea voastră în locul acesta; ce a făcut lui Datan şi lui Abiram, fiii lui Eliab, fiul lui Ruben, cum pămîntul şi -a deschis gura şi i -a înghiţit, cu casele şi corturile lor, şi cu tot ce aveau în mijlocul întregului Israel.

and that which He hath done to Dathan, and to Abiram, sons of Eliab, sons of Reuben, when the earth hath opened her mouth and swalloweth them, and their houses, and their tents, and all that liveth, which is at their feet, in the midst of all Israel:

7 C ăci aţi văzut cu ochii voştri toate lucrurile mari pe cari le -a făcut Domnul.

`-- But your eyes which are seeing all the great work of Jehovah, which He hath done;

8 A stfel, să păziţi toate poruncile pe cari vi le dau eu astăzi, ca să puteţi pune mîna pe ţara în care veţi trece ca s'o luaţi în stăpînire,

and ye have kept all the command which I am commanding thee to-day, so that ye are strong, and have gone in, and possessed the land whither ye are passing over to possess it,

9 ş i să aveţi zile multe în ţara pe care Domnul a jurat părinţilor voştri că le -o va da, lor şi seminţei lor, ţară în care curge lapte şi miere.

and so that ye prolong days on the ground which Jehovah hath sworn to your fathers to give to them and to their seed -- a land flowing with milk and honey.

10 C ăci ţara în stăpînirea căreia vei intra, nu este ca ţara Egiptului, din care aţi ieşit, unde îţi aruncai sămînţa în ogoare şi le udai cu piciorul ca pe o grădină de zarzavat.

`For the land whither thou art going in to possess it, is not as the land of Egypt whence ye have come out, where thou sowest thy seed, and hast watered with thy foot, as a garden of the green herb;

11 Ţ ara pe care o veţi stăpîni este o ţară cu munţi şi văi, care se adapă din ploaia cerului;

but the land whither ye are passing over to possess it, a land of hills and valleys; of the rain of the heavens it drinketh water;

12 e ste o ţară de care îngrijeşte Domnul, Dumnezeul tău, şi asupra căreia Domnul, Dumnezeul tău, are neîncetat ochii, dela începutul pînă la sfîrşitul anului.

a land which Jehovah thy God is searching; continually the eyes of Jehovah thy God upon it, from the beginning of the year even unto the latter end of the year.

13 D acă veţi asculta de poruncile mele pe cari vi le dau astăzi, dacă veţi iubi pe Domnul, Dumnezeul vostru, şi dacă -I veţi sluji din toată inima voastră şi din tot sufletul vostru,

`And it hath been -- if thou hearken diligently unto My commands which I am commanding you to-day, to love Jehovah your God, and to serve Him with all your heart, and with all your soul --

14 E l va da ţării voastre ploaie la vreme, ploaie timpurie şi ploaie tîrzie, şi-ţi vei strînge grîul, mustul şi untdelemnul;

that I have given the rain of your land in its season -- sprinkling and gathered -- and thou hast gathered thy corn, and thy new wine, and thine oil,

15 d e asemenea va da iarbă în cîmpiile tale pentru vite, şi vei mînca şi te vei sătura.

and I have given herbs in thy field for thy cattle, and thou hast eaten, and been satisfied.

16 V edeţi să nu vi se amăgească inima, şi să vă abateţi, ca să slujiţi altor dumnezei şi să vă închinaţi înaintea lor.

`Take heed to yourselves, lest your heart be enticed, and ye have turned aside, and served other gods, and bowed yourselves to them,

17 C ăci atunci Domnul S'ar aprinde de mînie împotriva voastră; ar închide cerurile, şi n'ar mai fi ploaie; pămîntul nu şi-ar mai da roadele, şi aţi pieri curînd din ţara aceea bună pe care v'o dă Domnul.

and the anger of Jehovah hath burned against you, and He hath restrained the heavens, and there is no rain, and the ground doth not give her increase, and ye have perished hastily from off the good land which Jehovah is giving to you.

18 P uneţi-vă dar în inimă şi în suflet aceste cuvinte pe cari vi le spun. Să le legaţi ca un semn de aducere aminte pe mînile voastre, şi să fie ca nişte fruntarii între ochii voştri.

`And ye have placed these my words on your heart, and on your soul, and have bound them for a sign on your hand, and they have been for frontlets between your eyes;

19 S ă învăţaţi pe copiii voştri în ele, şi să le vorbeşti despre ele cînd vei fi acasă, cînd vei merge în călătorie, cînd te vei culca şi cînd te vei scula.

and ye have taught them to your sons, by speaking of them in thy sitting in thy house, and in thy going in the way, and in thy lying down, and in thy rising up,

20 S ă le scrii pe uşiorii casei tale şi pe porţile tale.

and hast written them on the side-posts of thy house, and on thy gates,

21 Ş i atunci zilele voastre şi zilele copiilor voştri, în ţara pe care Domnul a jurat părinţilor voştri că le -o va da, vor fi tot atît de multe cît vor fi zilele cerurilor deasupra pămîntului.

so that your days are multiplied, and the days of your sons, on the ground which Jehovah hath sworn to your fathers to give to them, as the days of the heavens on the earth.

22 C ăci dacă veţi păzi toate aceste porunci pe cari vi le dau, şi dacă le veţi împlini, dacă veţi iubi pe Domnul, Dumnezeul vostru, veţi umbla în toate căile Lui şi vă veţi alipi de El,

`For, if ye diligently keep all this command which I am commanding you -- to do it, to love Jehovah your God, to walk in all His ways, and to cleave to Him,

23 D omnul va izgoni dinaintea voastră pe toate aceste neamuri, şi vă veţi face stăpîni pe toate aceste neamuri cari sînt mai mari şi mai puternice decît voi.

then hath Jehovah dispossessed all these nations from before you, and ye have possessed nations, greater and mightier than you;

24 O rice loc pe care -l va călca talpa piciorului vostru, va fi al vostru: hotarul vostru se va întinde din pustie pînă la Liban, şi de la rîul Eufrat pînă la marea de apus.

every place on which the sole of your foot treadeth is yours; from the wilderness, and Lebanon, from the river, the river Phrat, even unto the farther sea is your border;

25 N imeni nu va putea să stea împotriva voastră. Domnul, Dumnezeul vostru, va răspîndi, cum v'a spus, frica şi groaza de tine peste toată ţara în care veţi merge.

no man doth station himself in your presence; your dread and your fear doth Jehovah your God put on the face of all the land on which ye tread, as He hath spoken to you.

26 I ată, pun azi înaintea voastră binecuvîntarea şi blestemul:

`See, I am setting before you to-day a blessing and a reviling:

27 b inecuvîntarea, dacă veţi asculta de poruncile Domnului, Dumnezeului vostru, pe cari vi le dau în ziua aceasta;

the blessing, when ye hearken unto the commands of Jehovah your God, which I am commanding you to-day;

28 b lestemul, dacă nu veţi asculta de poruncile Domnului, Dumnezeului vostru, şi dacă vă veţi abate dela calea pe care v'o dau în ziua aceasta, şi vă veţi duce după alţi dumnezei pe cari nu -i cunoaşteţi.

and the reviling, if ye do not hearken unto the commands of Jehovah your God, and have turned aside out of the way which I am commanding you to-day, to go after other gods which ye have not known.

29 Ş i cînd Domnul, Dumnezeul tău, te va aduce în ţara pe care o vei lua în stăpînire, să rosteşti binecuvîntarea pe muntele Garizim, şi blestemul pe muntele Ebal.

`And it hath been, when Jehovah thy God doth bring thee in unto the land whither thou art going in to possess it, that thou hast given the blessing on mount Gerizim, and the reviling on mount Ebal;

30 M unţii aceştia sînt dincolo de Iordan, înapoia drumului care merge spre apus, în ţara Cananiţilor cari locuiesc în cîmpie, faţă în faţă cu Ghilgal, lîngă stejarii More.

are they not beyond the Jordan, behind the way of the going in of the sun, in the land of the Canaanite, who is dwelling in the plain over-against Gilgal, near the oaks of Moreh?

31 C ăci veţi trece Iordanul şi veţi intra în stăpînirea ţării pe care v'o dă Domnul, Dumnezeul vostru, ca s'o stăpîniţi, şi să locuiţi în ea.

for ye are passing over the Jordan to go in to possess the land which Jehovah your God is giving to you; and ye have possessed it, and dwelt in it,

32 S ă păziţi şi să împliniţi toate legile şi poruncile pe cari vi le dau eu astăzi.

and observed to do all the statutes and the judgments which I am setting before you to day.
