1 D omnul mi -a zis:,, Du-te iarăş, şi iubeşte o femeie iubită de un ibovnic, şi preacurvă; iubeşte -o cum iubeşte Domnul pe copiii lui Israel, cari se îndreaptă spre alţi dumnezei şi cari iubesc turtele de stafide!``

And Jehovah saith unto me: `Again, go, love a woman, loved of a friend, and an adulteress, like the loved of Jehovah, the sons of Israel, and they are turning unto other gods, and are lovers of grape-cakes.'

2 M i-am cumpărat -o cu cincisprezece sicli de argint, un omer de orz şi un letec de orz.

And I buy her to me for fifteen silverlings, and a homer and a letech of barley;

3 Ş i i-am zis:,, Rămîi multă vreme numai a mea, nu te deda la curvie, nu mai fi a nici unui alt bărbat, şi voi fi şi eu la fel cu tine!``

and I say unto her, `Many days thou dost remain for Me, thou dost not go a-whoring, nor become any one's; and I also for thee.'

4 C ăci copiii lui Israel vor rămînea multă vreme fără împărat, fără căpetenie, fără jertfă, fără chip de idol, fără efod, şi fără terafimi.

For many days remain do the sons of Israel without a king, and there is no prince, and there is no sacrifice, and there is no standing pillar, and there is no ephod and teraphim.

5 D upă aceea, copiii lui Israel se vor întoarce, şi vor căuta pe Domnul, Dumnezeul lor, şi pe împăratul lor David; şi vor tresări la vederea Domnului şi a bunătăţii Lui, în vremurile de pe urmă.

Afterwards turned back have the sons of Israel, and sought Jehovah their God, and David their king, and have hastened unto Jehovah, and unto His goodness, in the latter end of the days.
