1 L ăudaţi pe Domnul, chemaţi Numele Lui! Faceţi cunoscut printre popoare isprăvile Lui!

Give ye thanks to Jehovah -- call ye in His name, Make known among the peoples His acts.

2 C întaţi, cîntaţi în cinstea Lui! Vorbiţi despre toate minunile Lui!

Sing ye to Him -- sing praise to Him, Meditate ye on all His wonders.

3 F ăliţi-vă cu Numele Lui cel sfînt! Să se bucure inima celor ce caută pe Domnul!

Boast yourselves in His Holy Name, The heart of those seeking Jehovah rejoiceth.

4 A lergaţi la Domnul şi la sprijinul Lui, căutaţi necurmat Faţa Lui!

Seek ye Jehovah and His strength, Seek ye His face continually.

5 A duceţi-vă aminte de semnele minunate pe cari le -a făcut, de minunile şi de judecăţile rostite de gura Lui,

Remember His wonders that He did, His signs and the judgments of His mouth.

6 s ămînţă a robului Său Avraam, copii ai lui Iacov, aleşii Săi!

O seed of Abraham, His servant, O sons of Jacob, His chosen ones.

7 D omnul este Dumnezeul nostru: Judecăţile Lui se aduc la îndeplinire pe tot pămîntul.

He Jehovah our God, In all the earth His judgments.

8 E l Îşi aduce aminte totdeauna de legămîntul Lui, de făgăduinţele Lui făcute pentru o mie de neamuri de om,

He hath remembered to the age His covenant, The word He commanded to a thousand generations,

9 d e legămîntul, pe care l -a încheiat cu Avraam, şi de jurămîntul, pe care l -a făcut lui Issac;

That He hath made with Abraham, And His oath to Isaac,

10 E l l -a făcut lege pentru Iacov, legămînt vecinic pentru Israel,

And doth establish it to Jacob for a statute, To Israel -- a covenant age-during,

11 z icînd:,,Ţie îţi voi da ţara Canaanului ca moştenire, care v'a căzut la sorţ.``

Saying, `To thee I give the land of Canaan, The portion of your inheritance,'

12 P e atunci ei erau puţini la număr, foarte puţini la număr, şi străini în ţară;

In their being few in number, But a few, and sojourners in it.

13 m ergeau dela un neam la altul, şi de la o împărăţie la un alt popor;

And they go up and down, from nation unto nation, From a kingdom unto another people.

14 d ar n'a dat voie nimănui să -i asuprească, şi a pedepsit împăraţi din pricina lor.

He hath not suffered any to oppress them And He reproveth for their sakes kings.

15 N u vă atingeţi de unşii Mei, -a zis El-şi nu faceţi rău proorocilor Mei!``

`Strike not against Mine anointed, And to My prophets do not evil.'

16 A chemat foametea asupra ţării, şi a tăiat orice mijloc de trai.

And He calleth a famine on the land, The whole staff of bread He hath broken.

17 L e -a trimes înainte pe un om; Iosif a fost vîndut ca rob.

He hath sent before them a man, For a servant hath Joseph been sold.

18 I -au strîns picioarele în lanţuri, l-au pus în fiare,

They have afflicted with fetters his feet, Iron hath entered his soul,

19 p înă la vremea cînd s'a întîmplat ce vestise el, şi pînă cînd l -a încercat Cuvîntul Domnului.

Till the time of the coming of His word The saying of Jehovah hath tried him.

20 A tunci împăratul a trimes să -i scoată lanţurile, şi stăpînitorul popoarelor l -a izbăvit.

The king hath sent, and looseth him, The ruler of the peoples, and draweth him out.

21 L -a pus domn peste casa lui, şi dregătorul tuturor averilor lui,

He hath made him lord of his house, And ruler over all his possessions.

22 c a să lege după plac pe domnitorii lui, şi să înveţe pe bătrînii lui înţelepciunea.

To bind his chiefs at his pleasure, And his elders he maketh wise.

23 A tunci Israel a venit în Egipt, şi Iacov a locuit în ţara lui Ham.

And Israel cometh in to Egypt, And Jacob hath sojourned in the land of Ham.

24 D omnul a înmulţit pe poporul Său foarte mult, şi l -a făcut mai puternic decît protivnicii lui.

And He maketh His people very fruitful, And maketh it mightier than its adversaries.

25 A cestora le -a schimbat inima, pînă acolo că au urît pe poporul Lui, şi s'au purtat mişeleşte cu robii Săi.

He turned their heart to hate His people, To conspire against His servants.

26 A trimes pe robul Său Moise, şi pe Aaron, pe care -l alesese.

He hath sent Moses His servant, Aaron whom He had fixed on.

27 P rin puterea Lui, ei au făcut semne minunate în mijlocul lor, au făcut minuni în ţara lui Ham.

They have set among them the matters of His signs, And wonders in the land of Ham.

28 A trimes întunerec şi a adus negura, ca să nu fie neascultători la Cuvîntul Lui.

He hath sent darkness, and it is dark, And they have not provoked His word.

29 L e -a prefăcut apele în sînge, şi a făcut să le piară toţi peştii.

He hath turned their waters to blood, And putteth to death their fish.

30 Ţ ara lor a forfotit de broaşte, pînă în odăile împăraţilor lor.

Teemed hath their land frogs, In the inner chambers of their kings.

31 E l a zis, şi au venit muşte otrăvitoare, păduchi pe tot ţinutul lor.

He hath said, and the beetle cometh, Lice into all their border.

32 Î n loc de ploaie le -a dat grindină, şi flăcări de foc în ţara lor.

He hath made their showers hail, A flaming fire in their land.

33 L e -a bătut viile şi smochinii, şi a sfărîmat copacii din ţinutul lor.

And He smiteth their vine and their fig, And shivereth the trees of their border.

34 E l a zis, şi au venit lăcuste, lăcuste fără număr,

He hath said, and the locust cometh, And the cankerworm -- innumerable,

35 c ari au mîncat toată iarba din ţară, şi au mistuit roadele de pe cîmpiile lor.

And it consumeth every herb in their land, And it consumeth the fruit of their ground.

36 A lovit pe toţi întîii născuţi din ţara lor, toată pîrga puterii lor.

And He smiteth every first-born in their land, The first-fruit of all their strength,

37 A scos pe poporul Său cu argint şi aur, şi niciunul n'a şovăit dintre seminţiile Lui.

And bringeth them out with silver and gold, And there is not in its tribes a feeble one.

38 E giptenii s'au bucurat de plecarea lor, căci îi apucase groaza de ei.

Rejoiced hath Egypt in their going forth, For their fear had fallen upon them.

39 A întins un nor, ca să -i acopere, şi focul, ca să lumineze noaptea.

He hath spread a cloud for a covering, And fire to enlighten the night.

40 L a cererea lor, a trimes prepeliţe, şi i -a săturat cu pîne din cer.

They have asked, and He bringeth quails, And bread of heaven satisfieth them.

41 A deschis stînca, şi au curs ape, cari s-au vărsat ca un rîu în locurile uscate.

He hath opened a rock, and waters issue, They have gone on in dry places -- a river.

42 C ăci Şi -a adus aminte de Cuvîntul Lui cel sfînt, şi de robul Său Avraam.

For He hath remembered His holy word, With Abraham His servant,

43 A scos pe poporul Său cu veselie, pe aleşii Săi în mijlocul strigătelor de bucurie.

And He bringeth forth His people with joy, With singing His chosen ones.

44 L e -a dat pămînturile neamurilor, şi au pus stăpînire pe rodul muncii popoarelor,

And He giveth to them the lands of nations, And the labour of peoples they possess,

45 c a să păzească poruncile Lui, şi să ţină legile Lui. Lăudaţi pe Domnul!

That they may observe His statutes, And His laws may keep. Praise ye Jehovah!
