1 M anase avea doisprezece ani cînd a ajuns împărat, şi a domnit cincizeci şi cinci de ani la Ierusalim. Mamă-sa se numea Hefţiba.

A son of twelve years Manasseh in his reigning, and fifty and five years he hath reigned in Jerusalem, and the name of his mother Hephzi-Bah;

2 E l a făcut ce este rău înaintea Domnului, după urîciunile neamurilor pe cari le izgonise Domnul dinaintea copiilor lui Israel.

and he doth the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah, according to the abominations of the nations that Jehovah dispossessed from the presence of the sons of Israel,

3 E l a zidit din nou înălţimile, pe cari le dărîmase tatăl său Ezechia, a ridicat altare lui Baal, a făcut un idol al Astarteei, cum făcuse Ahab, împăratul lui Israel, şi s'a închinat înaintea întregei oştiri a cerurilor şi i -a slujit.

and he turneth and buildeth the high places that Hezekiah his father destroyed, and raiseth altars for Baal, and maketh a shrine, as did Ahab king of Israel, and boweth himself to all the host of the heavens, and serveth them.

4 A zidit astfel altare în Casa Domnului, măcar că Domnul spusese:,,În Ierusalim Îmi voi pune Numele.``

And he hath built altars in the house of Jehovah, of which Jehovah said, `In Jerusalem I put My name.'

5 A zidit altare întregei oştiri a cerurilor în cele două curţi ale Casei Domnului.

And he buildeth altars to all the host of the heavens in the two courts of the house of Jehovah;

6 Ş i -a trecut pe fiul său prin foc; se îndeletnicea cu ghicirea şi vrăjitoria, şi a ţinut la el oameni cari chemau duhurile şi ghiceau viitorul. A făcut din ce în ce mai mult ce este rău înaintea Domnului, mîniindu -L.

and he hath caused his son to pass through fire, and observed clouds, and used enchantment, and dealt with a familiar spirit and wizards; he hath multiplied to do the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah -- to provoke to anger.

7 A pus idolul Astarteei, pe care -l făcuse, în casa despre care Domnul spusese lui David şi fiului său Solomon:,,În casa aceasta, şi în Ierusalim, pe care l-am ales din toate seminţiile lui Israel, vreau să pun pentru totdeauna Numele Meu.

And he setteth the graven image of the shrine that he made in the house of which Jehovah said unto David and unto Solomon his son, `In this house, and in Jerusalem, that I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, I put My name -- to the age;

8 N u voi mai muta piciorul lui Israel afară din ţara pe care am dat -o părinţilor lui, numai să aibă grijă să împlinească tot ce le-am poruncit şi toată legea pe care le -a dat -o robul Meu Moise.``

and I do not add to cause the foot of Israel to move from the ground that I gave to their fathers, only, if they observe to do according to all that I commanded them, and to all the law that My servant Moses commanded them.'

9 D ar ei n'au ascultat; şi Manase a fost pricina pentru care s'au rătăcit şi au făcut rău mai mult decît neamurile, pe cari le nimicise Domnul dinaintea copiilor lui Israel.

And they have not hearkened, and Manasseh causeth them to err, to do the evil thing above the nations that Jehovah destroyed from the presence of the sons of Israel.

10 A tunci Domnul a vorbit astfel prin robii Săi proorocii:

And Jehovah speaketh by the hand of his servants the prophets, saying,

11 P entrucă Manase, împăratul lui Iuda, a săvîrşit aceste urîciuni, pentrucă a făcut mai rău decît tot ce făcuseră înaintea lui Amoriţii, şi pentrucă a făcut şi pe Iuda să păcătuiască prin idolii lui,

`Because that Manasseh king of Judah hath done these abominations -- he hath done evil above all that the Amorites have done who before him, and causeth also Judah to sin by his idols;

12 i ată ce zice Domnul, Dumnezeul lui Israel:, Voi aduce peste Ierusalim şi peste Iuda nenorociri cari vor asurzi urechile oricui va auzi vorbindu-se de ele

therefore thus said Jehovah, God of Israel, Lo, I am bringing in evil on Jerusalem and Judah, that whoever heareth of it, tingle do his two ears.

13 V oi întinde asupra Ierusalimului frînghia ca asupra Samariei şi cumpăna ca asupra casei lui Ahab: şi voi curăţi Ierusalimul, ca o farfurie, care se curăţeşte, şi se răstoarnă cu faţa în jos, după ce a fost curăţită.

And I have stretched out over Jerusalem the line of Samaria, and the plummet of the house of Ahab, and wiped Jerusalem as one wipeth the dish -- he hath wiped, and hath turned on its face.

14 V oi părăsi rămăşiţa moştenirii Mele, şi -i voi da în mînile vrăjmaşilor lor; şi vor ajunge de jaful şi prada tuturor vrăjmaşilor lor,

`And I have left the remnant of Mine inheritance, and given them into the hand of their enemies, and they have been for a prey and for a spoil to all their enemies,

15 p entrucă au făcut ce este rău înaintea Mea şi M'au mîniat din ziua cînd au ieşit părinţii lor din Egipt, pînă în ziua de azi!``

because that they have done the evil thing in Mine eyes, and are provoking Me to anger from the day that their fathers came out of Egypt, even unto this day.'

16 M anase a vărsat deasemenea mult sînge nevinovat, pînă acolo încît a umplut Ierusalimul dela un capăt la altul, afară de păcatele pe cari le -a săvîrşit şi în cari a tîrît şi pe Iuda, făcînd ce este rău înaintea Domnului.

And also, innocent blood hath Manasseh shed very much, till that he hath filled Jerusalem -- mouth to mouth; apart from his sin that he hath caused Judah to sin, to do the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah.

17 C elelalte fapte ale lui Manase, tot ce a făcut el, şi păcatele la cari s'a dedat, nu sînt scrise oare în cartea Cronicilor împăraţilor lui Iuda?

And the rest of the matters of Manasseh, and all that he did, and his sin that he sinned, are they not written on the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Judah?

18 M anase a adormit cu părinţii săi, şi a fost îngropat în grădina casei, în grădina lui Uza. Şi, în locul lui, a domnit fiul său Amon.

And Manasseh lieth with his fathers, and is buried in the garden of his house, in the garden of Uzza, and reign doth Amon his son in his stead.

19 A mon avea douăzeci şi doi de ani cînd a ajuns împărat, şi a domnit doi ani la Ierusalim. Mamă-sa se chema Meşulemet, fata lui Haruţ, din Iotba.

A son of twenty and two years Amon in his reigning, and two years he hath reigned in Jerusalem, and the name of his mother Meshullemeth daughter of Haruz of Jotbah,

20 E l a făcut ce este rău înaintea Domnului, cum făcuse tatăl său Manase;

and he doth the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah, as did Manasseh his father,

21 a umblat în toată calea în care umblase tatăl său, a slujit idolilor cărora slujise şi tatăl său, şi s'a închinat înaintea lor;

and walketh in all the way that his father walked in, and serveth the idols that his father served, and boweth himself to them,

22 a părăsit pe Domnul, Dumnezeul părinţilor săi, şi n'a umblat în calea Domnului.

and forsaketh Jehovah, God of his fathers, and hath not walked in the way of Jehovah.

23 S lujitorii lui Amon au uneltit împotriva lui, şi au omorît pe împărat în casa lui.

And the servants of Amon conspire against him, and put the king to death in his own house,

24 D ar poporul ţării a lovit pe toţi cei ce uneltiseră împotriva împăratului Amon; şi poporul ţării a pus împărat, în locul său, pe fiul său Iosia.

and the people of the land smite all those conspiring against king Amon, and the people of the land cause Josiah his son to reign in his stead.

25 C elelalte fapte ale lui Amon, şi ce a făcut el, nu sînt scrise oare în cartea Cronicilor împăraţilor lui Iuda?

And the rest of the matters of Amon that he did, are they not written on the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Judah?

26 L -au îngropat în mormîntul său, în grădina lui Uza. Şi, în locul lui, a domnit fiul său Iosia.

and burieth him in his burying-place in the garden of Uzza, and reign doth Josiah his son in his stead.
