1 I ată proorocia, Cuvîntul Domnului despre ţara Hadrac; şi va începe din Damasc. Căci Domnul are ochiul îndreptat asupra oamenilor şi peste toate seminţiile lui Israel.

2 E l se opreşte şi peste Hamat, care se mărgineşte cu Damascul, peste Tir şi Sidon, cu toată înţelepciunea lor!

And also Hamath doth border thereon, Tyre and Zidon, for -- very wise!

3 T irul şi -a zidit o întăritură; a îngrămădit argint ca pulberea, şi aur ca noroiul de pe uliţe.

And Tyre doth build a bulwark to herself, And doth heap silver as dust, And gold as mire of out-places.

4 I ată că Domnul va pune mîna pe el, îi va năpusti puterea în mare, şi el însuş va fi ars cu foc.

Lo, the Lord doth dispossess her, And He hath smitten in the sea her force, And she with fire is consumed.

5 A scalonul va vedea lucrul acesta, şi se va teme; Gaza de asemenea, şi o va apuca un puternic cutremur; Ecronul deasemenea, căci nădejdea lui va fi dată de ruşine; va pieri împăratul din Gaza, şi Ascalonul nu va mai fi locuit.

See doth Ashkelon and fear, Also Gaza, and she is exceedingly pained, Also Ekron -- for her expectation dried up, And perished hath a king from Gaza, And Ashkelon doth not remain,

6 S trăinul se va aşeza în Asdod, şi voi frînge mîndria Filistenilor.

And dwelt hath a foreigner in Ashdod, And I have cut off the excellency of the Philistines.

7 Î i voi scoate sîngele din gură, şi urîciunile idoleşti dintre dinţi, ca să fie şi el o rămăşiţă pentru Dumnezeul nostru, şi să fie ca o căpetenie din Iuda, şi Ecronul ca Iebusiţii.

And turned aside his blood from his mouth, His abominations from between his teeth, And he hath remained, even he, to our God, And he hath been as a leader in Judah, And Ekron as a Jebusite.

8 V oi tăbărî în jurul Casei Mele, ca s'o apăr împotriva unei oştiri, împotriva celor ce se duc şi vin, şi nu va mai trece asupritorul peste ei, căci acum Mă uit cu ochii Mei.

And I have pitched for My house a camp, Because of the passer through, and of the returner, And pass not through against them again doth an exactor, For, now, I have seen with My eyes.

9 S altă de veselie, fiica Sionului! Strigă de bucurie, fiica Ierusalimului! Iată că Împăratul tău vine la tine; El este neprihănit şi biruitor, smerit şi călare pe un măgar, pe un mînz, pe mînzul unei măgăriţe.

Rejoice exceedingly, O daughter of Zion, Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem, Lo, thy King doth come to thee, Righteous -- and saved is He, Afflicted -- and riding on an ass, And on a colt -- a son of she-asses.

10 V oi nimici carăle de război din Efraim, şi caii din Ierusalim, şi arcurile de război vor fi nimicite. El va vesti nemurilor pacea, şi va stăpîni dela o mare la cealaltă, şi dela rîu pînă la marginile pămîntului.

And I have cut off the chariot from Ephraim, And the horse from Jerusalem, Yea, cut off hath been the bow of battle, And he hath spoken peace to nations, And his rule from sea unto sea, And from the river unto the ends of earth.

11 Î nsă, cît pentru tine, Sioane, din pricina legămîntului tău pecetluit cu sînge, voi scoate pe prinşii tăi de război din groapa în care nu este apă.

Also thou -- by the blood of thy covenant, I have sent thy prisoners out of the pit, There is no water in it.

12 Î ntoarceţi-vă la cetăţuie, prinşi de război plini de nădejde! O spun şi astăzi, că îţi voi întoarce îndoit!

Turn back to a fenced place, Ye prisoners of the hope, Even to-day a second announcer I restore to thee.

13 C ăci Îmi încordez pe Iuda ca arc, şi iau pe Efraim ca săgeată şi voi scula pe copiii tăi, Sioane, împotriva copiilor tăi, Grecio! Te voi face ca sabia unui viteaz!

For I have trodden for Me Judah, A bow I have filled Ephraim, And I have stirred up thy sons, O Zion, Against thy sons, O Javan, And I have set thee as the sword of a hero.

14 D ar Domnul Se va arăta deaspura lor, şi săgeata Lui va porni ca fulgerul; Domnul Dumnezeu va suna din trîmbiţă, şi va înainta vijelia dela miază-zi.

And Jehovah doth appear for them, And gone forth as lightning hath His arrow, And the Lord Jehovah with a trumpet bloweth, And He hath gone with whirlwinds of the south.

15 D omnul oştirilor îi va ocroti, şi vor mînca, şi vor zdrobi pietrele de praştie, vor bea, vor face gălăgie ca ameţiţi de vin; vor fi plini ca un pahar de jertfă, ca şi colţurile altarului.

Jehovah of Hosts doth cover them over, And they consumed, and subdued sling-stones, Yea, they have drunk, They have made a noise as wine, And they have been full as a bowl, As corners of an altar.

16 D omnul, Dumnezeul lor, îi va scăpa în ziua aceea, ca pe turma poporului Său; căci ei sînt pietrele cununii împărăteşti, cari vor străluci în ţara Sa!

And saved them hath Jehovah their God In that day, as a flock of His people, For stones of a crown are displaying themselves over His ground.

17 O ! Cît sînt de înfloritori! Cît sînt de frumoşi! Grîul va veseli pe tineri, şi mustul pe fete.

For what His goodness! and what His beauty! Corn the young men, And new wine the virgins -- make fruitful!
