1 Î ngerul, care vorbea cu mine, s'a întors şi m'a trezit ca pe un om, pe care -l trezeşti din somnul lui.

And the messenger who is speaking with me doth turn back, and stir me up as one who is stirred up out of his sleep,

2 E l m'a întrebat:,, Ce vezi?`` Eu am răspuns:,, M'am uitat şi iată că este un sfeşnic cu totul de aur, şi deaspura lui un vas cu untdelemn şi pe el şapte candele, cu şapte ţevi pentru candelele cari sînt în vîrful sfeşnicului.

and he saith unto me, `What art thou seeing?' And I say, `I have looked, and lo, a candlestick of gold -- all of it, and its bowl on its top, and its seven lamps upon it, and twice seven pipes to the lights that on its top,

3 Ş i lîngă el sînt doi măslini, unul la dreapta vasului, şi altul la stînga lui.

and two olive-trees by it, one on the right of the bowl, and one on its left.'

4 Ş i, luînd iarăş cuvîntul, am zis îngerului, care vorbea cu mine:,, Ce înseamnă lucrurile acestea, domnul meu?``

And I answer and speak unto the messenger who is speaking with me, saying, `What these, my lord?'

5 Î ngerul, care vorbea cu mine, mi -a răspuns:,, Nu ştii ce înseamnă aceste lucruri?`` Eu am zis:,, Nu, domnul meu.``

And the messenger who is speaking with me answereth and saith unto me, `Hast thou not known what these ?' And I say, `No, my lord.'

6 A tunci el a luat din nou cuvîntul, şi mi -a zis:,, Acesta este cuvîntul Domnului către Zorobabel, şi sună astfel:... Lucrul acesta nu se va face nici prin putere, nici prin tărie, ci prin Duhul Meu, -zice Domnul oştirilor! -

And he answereth and speaketh unto me, saying: `This a word of Jehovah unto Zerubbabel, saying: Not by a force, nor by power, But -- by My Spirit, said Jehovah of Hosts.

7 C ine eşti tu, munte mare, înaintea lui Zorobabel? Te vei preface într'un loc şes. El va pune piatra cea mai însemnată în vîrful Templului, în mijlocul strigătelor de:,,Îndurare, îndurare cu ea!``

Who thou, O great mountain Before Zerubbabel -- for a plain! And he hath brought forth the top-stone, Cries of Grace, grace -- to it.'

8 C uvîntul Domnului mi -a vorbit astfel:

And there is a word of Jehovah to me, saying,

9 M înile lui Zorobabel au întemeiat Casa aceasta, şi tot mînile lui o vor isprăvi; şi veţi şti dacă Domnul oştirilor m'a trimes la voi.

Hands of Zerubbabel did found this house, And his hands do finish it, And thou hast known that Jehovah of Hosts Hath sent me unto you.

10 C ăci cine dispreţuieşte ziua începuturilor slabe? Aceşti şapte vor privi cu bucurie cumpăna în mîna lui Zorobabel. Aceşti şapte sînt ochii Domnului, cari cutreieră tot pămîntul.``

For who trampled on the day of small things, They have rejoiced, And seen the tin weight in the hand of Zerubbabel, These seven the eyes of Jehovah, They are going to and fro in all the land.'

11 E u am luat cuvîntul, şi i-am zis:,, Ce însemnează aceşti doi măslini, la dreapta sfeşnicului şi la stînga lui?``

And I answer and say unto him, `What these two olive-trees, on the right of the candlestick, and on its left?'

12 A m luat a doua oară cuvîntul, şi i-am zis:,, Ce înseamnă cele două ramuri de măslin, cari sînt lîngă cele două ţevi de aur, prin cari curge uleiul auriu din el?``

And I answer a second time, and say unto him, `What the two branches of the olive trees that, by means of the two golden pipes, are emptying out of themselves the oil?'

13 E l mi -a răspuns:,, Nu ştii ce înseamnă?`` Eu am zis:,, Nu, domnul meu.`` Şi el a zis:

And he speaketh unto me, saying, `Hast thou not known what these ?' And I say, `No, my lord.'

14 A ceştia sînt cei doi unşi, cari stau înaintea Domnului întregului pămînt.``

And he saith, `These the two sons of the oil, who are standing by the Lord of the whole earth.'
