1 C înd S'a coborît Isus de pe munte, multe noroade au mers după El.

And when he came down from the mount, great multitudes did follow him,

2 Ş i un lepros s'a apropiat de El, I s'a închinat, şi I -a zis:,, Doamne, dacă vrei, poţi să mă curăţeşti.``

and lo, a leper having come, was bowing to him, saying, `Sir, if thou art willing, thou art able to cleanse me;'

3 I sus a întins mîna, S'a atins de el, şi a zis:,, Da, vreau, fii curăţit!`` Îndată a fost curăţită lepra lui.

and having stretched forth the hand, Jesus touched him, saying, `I will, be thou cleansed,' and immediately his leprosy was cleansed.

4 A poi Isus i -a zis:,, Vezi să nu spui la nimeni; ci du-te de te arată preotului, şi adu darul, pe care l -a rînduit Moise, ca mărturie pentru ei.``

And Jesus saith to him, `See, thou mayest tell no one, but go, thyself shew to the priest, and bring the gift that Moses commanded for a testimony to them.'

5 P e cînd intra Isus în Capernaum, s'a apropiat de El un sutaş, care -L ruga

And Jesus having entered into Capernaum, there came to him a centurion calling upon him,

6 ş i -I zicea:,, Doamne, robul meu zace în casă slăbănog, şi se chinuieşte cumplit.``

and saying, `Sir, my young man hath been laid in the house a paralytic, fearfully afflicted,'

7 I sus i -a zis:,, Am să vin şi să -l tămăduiesc.``

and Jesus saith to him, `I, having come, will heal him.'

8 D oamne``, a răspuns sutaşul,,, nu sînt vrednic să intri supt acoperemîntul meu; ci zi numai un cuvînt, şi robul meu va fi tămăduit.

And the centurion answering said, `Sir, I am not worthy that thou mayest enter under my roof, but only say a word, and my servant shall be healed;

9 C ăci şi eu sînt om supt stăpînire; am supt mine ostaşi, şi zic unuia:, Du-te!` şi se duce; altuia:, Vino!` şi vine; şi robului meu:, Fă cutare lucru!` şi -l face.

for I also am a man under authority, having under myself soldiers, and I say to this one, Go, and he goeth, and to another, Be coming, and he cometh, and to my servant, Do this, and he doth.'

10 C înd a auzit Isus aceste vorbe, S'a mirat, şi a zis celor ce veneau după El:,, Adevărat vă spun că nici în Israel n'am găsit o credinţă aşa de mare.

And Jesus having heard, did wonder, and said to those following, `Verily I say to you, not even in Israel so great faith have I found;

11 D ar vă spun că vor veni mulţi dela răsărit şi dela apus, şi vor sta la masă cu Avraam, Isaac şi Iacov în Împărăţia cerurilor.

and I say to you, that many from east and west shall come and recline (at meat) with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the reign of the heavens,

12 I ar fiii Împărăţiei vor fi aruncaţi în întunerecul de afară, unde va fi plînsul şi scrîşnirea dinţilor.``

but the sons of the reign shall be cast forth to the outer darkness -- there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of the teeth.'

13 A poi a zis sutaşului:,, Du-te, şi facă-ţi-se după credinţa ta.`` Şi robul lui s'a tămăduit chiar în ceasul acela.

And Jesus said to the centurion, `Go, and as thou didst believe let it be to thee;' and his young man was healed in that hour.

14 I sus S'a dus apoi în casa lui Petru, şi a văzut pe soacra acestuia zăcînd în pat, prinsă de friguri.

And Jesus having come into the house of Peter, saw his mother-in-law laid, and fevered,

15 S 'a atins de mîna ei, şi au lăsat -o frigurile; apoi ea s'a sculat, şi a început să -I slujească.

and he touched her hand, and the fever left her, and she arose, and was ministering to them.

16 S eara, au adus la Isus pe mulţi îndrăciţi. El, prin cuvîntul Lui, a scos din ei duhurile necurate, şi a tămăduit pe toţi bolnavii,

And evening having come, they brought to him many demoniacs, and he did cast out the spirits with a word, and did heal all who were ill,

17 c a să se împlinească ce fusese vestit prin proorocul Isaia, care zice:,, El a luat asupra Lui neputinţele noastre şi a purtat boalele noastre.``

that it might be fulfilled that was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying, `Himself took our infirmities, and the sicknesses he did bear.'

18 I sus a văzut multe noroade împrejurul Său, şi a poruncit să treacă de cealaltă parte.

And Jesus having seen great multitudes about him, did command to depart to the other side;

19 A tunci s'a apropiat de El un cărturar, şi I -a zis:,,Învăţătorule, vreau să Te urmez ori unde vei merge.``

and a certain scribe having come, said to him, `Teacher, I will follow thee wherever thou mayest go;'

20 I sus i -a răspuns:,, Vulpile au vizuini, şi păsările cerului au cuiburi; dar Fiul omului n'are unde-Şi odihni capul.``

and Jesus saith to him, `The foxes have holes, and the birds of the heaven places of rest, but the Son of Man hath not where he may lay the head.'

21 U n altul, care era dintre ucenici, I -a zis:,, Doamne, dă-mi voie să mă duc mai întîi să îngrop pe tatăl meu.``

And another of his disciples said to him, `Sir, permit me first to depart and to bury my father;'

22 V ino după Mine``, i -a răspuns Isus,,,şi lasă morţii să-şi îngroape morţii.``

and Jesus said to him, `Follow me, and suffer the dead to bury their own dead.'

23 I sus S'a suit într'o corabie, şi ucenicii Lui au mers după El.

And when he entered into the boat his disciples did follow him,

24 Ş i deodată s'a stîrnit pe mare o furtună atît de straşnică, încît corabia era acoperită de valuri. Şi El dormea.

and lo, a great tempest arose in the sea, so that the boat was being covered by the waves, but he was sleeping,

25 U cenicii s'au apropiat de El, şi L-au deşteptat, strigînd:,, Doamne, scapă-ne, că pierim!``

and his disciples having come to him, awoke him, saying, `Sir, save us; we are perishing.'

26 E l le -a zis:,, De ce vă este frică, puţin credincioşilor?`` Apoi S'a sculat, a certat vînturile şi marea, şi s'a făcut o linişte mare.

And he saith to them, `Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith?' Then having risen, he rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm;

27 O amenii aceia se mirau, şi ziceau:,, Ce fel de om este acesta, de -L ascultă pînă şi vînturile şi marea?``

and the men wondered, saying, `What kind -- is this, that even the wind and the sea do obey him?'

28 C înd a ajuns Isus de partea cealaltă, în ţinutul Gadarenilor, L-au întîmpinat doi îndrăciţi, cari ieşeau din morminte. Erau aşa de cumpliţi, că nimeni nu putea trece pe drumul acela.

And he having come to the other side, to the region of the Gergesenes, there met him two demoniacs, coming forth out of the tombs, very fierce, so that no one was able to pass over by that way,

29 Ş i iată că au început să strige:,, Ce legătură este între noi şi Tine, Isuse, Fiul lui Dumnezeu? Ai venit aici să ne chinuieşti înainte de vreme?``

and lo, they cried out, saying, `What -- to us and to thee, Jesus, Son of God? didst thou come hither, before the time, to afflict us?'

30 D eparte de ei era o turmă mare de porci, cari păşteau.

And there was far off from them a herd of many swine feeding,

31 D racii rugau pe Isus şi ziceau:,, Dacă ne scoţi afară din ei, dă-ne voie să ne ducem în turma aceea de porci.``

and the demons were calling on him, saying, `If thou dost cast us forth, permit us to go away to the herd of the swine;'

32 D uceţi-vă``, le -a zis El. Ei au ieşit, şi au intrat în porci. Şi deodată toată turma s'a repezit de pe rîpă în mare, şi a pierit în ape.

and he saith to them, `Go.' And having come forth, they went to the herd of the swine, and lo, the whole herd of the swine rushed down the steep, to the sea, and died in the waters,

33 P orcarii au fugit, şi s'au dus în cetate de au povestit tot ce se petrecuse şi cele întîmplate cu îndrăciţii.

and those feeding did flee, and, having gone to the city, they declared all, and the matter of the demoniacs.

34 Ş i iată că toată cetatea a ieşit în întîmpinarea lui Isus; şi, cum L-au văzut, L-au rugat să plece din ţinutul lor.

And lo, all the city came forth to meet Jesus, and having seen him, they called on that he might depart from their borders.
