1 C ând a coborât Isus de pe munte, mulţimile L-au urmat.

And when he came down from the mount, great multitudes did follow him,

2 Ş i iată că un lepros a venit la El, I s-a închinat şi I-a zis: – Doamne, dacă vrei, poţi să mă curăţeşti!

and lo, a leper having come, was bowing to him, saying, `Sir, if thou art willing, thou art able to cleanse me;'

3 I sus a întins mâna, l-a atins şi i-a zis: – Da, vreau. Fii curăţit! Şi imediat a fost curăţit de lepra lui.

and having stretched forth the hand, Jesus touched him, saying, `I will, be thou cleansed,' and immediately his leprosy was cleansed.

4 I sus i-a zis: – Vezi să nu spui nimănui, ci du-te să te arăţi preotului şi adu darul pe care l-a poruncit Moise, ca mărturie pentru ei! Credinţa centurionului

And Jesus saith to him, `See, thou mayest tell no one, but go, thyself shew to the priest, and bring the gift that Moses commanded for a testimony to them.'

5 C ând a intrat Isus în Capernaum, a venit la El un centurion care L-a rugat

And Jesus having entered into Capernaum, there came to him a centurion calling upon him,

6 ş i I-a zis astfel: – Doamne, slujitorul meu zace paralizat în casă şi se chinuie cumplit!

and saying, `Sir, my young man hath been laid in the house a paralytic, fearfully afflicted,'

7 I sus i-a zis: – Voi veni şi-l voi vindeca.

and Jesus saith to him, `I, having come, will heal him.'

8 D ar centurionul a răspuns: – Doamne, nu sunt vrednic să intri sub acoperişul meu, ci spune doar un cuvânt şi slujitorul meu va fi vindecat!

And the centurion answering said, `Sir, I am not worthy that thou mayest enter under my roof, but only say a word, and my servant shall be healed;

9 C ăci şi eu, la rândul meu, sunt un om sub autoritate şi am şi eu soldaţi în subordinea mea. Când îi spun unuia: „Du-te!“, el se duce, iar când îi spun altuia: „Vino!“, el vine. De asemenea, când îi spun sclavului meu: „Fă cutare lucru!“, el îl face.

for I also am a man under authority, having under myself soldiers, and I say to this one, Go, and he goeth, and to another, Be coming, and he cometh, and to my servant, Do this, and he doth.'

10 I sus s-a mirat când l-a auzit şi le-a zis celor ce erau cu El: – Adevărat vă spun că nici chiar în Israel n-am găsit pe cineva cu o credinţă aşa de mare!

And Jesus having heard, did wonder, and said to those following, `Verily I say to you, not even in Israel so great faith have I found;

11 Ş i vă spun că vor veni mulţi de la răsărit şi de la apus şi se vor aşeza la masă cu Avraam, Isaac şi Iacov în Împărăţia Cerurilor.

and I say to you, that many from east and west shall come and recline (at meat) with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the reign of the heavens,

12 D ar fiii Împărăţiei vor fi aruncaţi în întunericul de afară. Acolo va fi plânsul şi scrâşnirea dinţilor!

but the sons of the reign shall be cast forth to the outer darkness -- there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of the teeth.'

13 A poi Isus i-a zis centurionului: – Du-te! Facă-ţi-se după cum ai crezut! Şi slujitorul acestuia a fost vindecat chiar în ceasul acela. Isus vindecă mai mulţi bolnavi

And Jesus said to the centurion, `Go, and as thou didst believe let it be to thee;' and his young man was healed in that hour.

14 I sus a intrat apoi în casa lui Petru şi a văzut-o pe soacra acestuia zăcând la pat şi având febră.

And Jesus having come into the house of Peter, saw his mother-in-law laid, and fevered,

15 E l i-a atins mâna şi febra a lăsat-o, iar ea s-a ridicat şi a început să-I slujească.

and he touched her hand, and the fever left her, and she arose, and was ministering to them.

16 S eara, au adus la Isus mulţi demoniaci, iar El a alungat duhurile prin cuvântul Lui şi i-a vindecat pe toţi bolnavii,

And evening having come, they brought to him many demoniacs, and he did cast out the spirits with a word, and did heal all who were ill,

17 c a să se împlinească ce a fost spus prin profetul Isaia, care zice: „El a luat asupra Lui neputinţele noastre şi a purtat bolile noastre“. Preţul urmării lui Isus

that it might be fulfilled that was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying, `Himself took our infirmities, and the sicknesses he did bear.'

18 C ând a văzut Isus mulţimea din jurul Lui, le-a poruncit ucenicilor să treacă de cealaltă parte a mării.

And Jesus having seen great multitudes about him, did command to depart to the other side;

19 C hiar atunci a venit la El un cărturar şi I-a zis: – Învăţătorule, Te voi urma oriunde vei merge!

and a certain scribe having come, said to him, `Teacher, I will follow thee wherever thou mayest go;'

20 I sus i-a răspuns: – Vulpile au vizuini şi păsările cerului au cuiburi, dar Fiul Omului nu are unde să-Şi odihnească capul.

and Jesus saith to him, `The foxes have holes, and the birds of the heaven places of rest, but the Son of Man hath not where he may lay the head.'

21 U n altul dintre ucenicii Săi I-a zis: – Doamne, dă-mi voie mai întâi să mă duc să-l înmormântez pe tatăl meu!

And another of his disciples said to him, `Sir, permit me first to depart and to bury my father;'

22 I sus i-a răspuns: – Urmează-Mă şi lasă morţii să-şi îngroape morţii! Isus linişteşte furtuna

and Jesus said to him, `Follow me, and suffer the dead to bury their own dead.'

23 A poi S-a suit în barcă, iar ucenicii Săi L-au urmat.

And when he entered into the boat his disciples did follow him,

24 Ş i iată că pe mare s-a stârnit deodată o furtună atât de puternică, încât barca a fost acoperită de valuri. Isus dormea.

and lo, a great tempest arose in the sea, so that the boat was being covered by the waves, but he was sleeping,

25 U cenicii au venit la El şi L-au trezit, spunându-I: – Doamne, scapă-ne, căci pierim!

and his disciples having come to him, awoke him, saying, `Sir, save us; we are perishing.'

26 Î nsă Isus le-a zis: – De ce sunteţi atât de fricoşi, puţin credincioşilor? Apoi s-a sculat, a mustrat vânturile şi marea şi s-a făcut o linişte mare.

And he saith to them, `Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith?' Then having risen, he rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm;

27 O amenii au rămas uimiţi şi au zis: „Ce fel de Om este Acesta, de-L ascultă până şi vânturile şi marea?“ Isus vindecă doi gadareni demoniaci

and the men wondered, saying, `What kind -- is this, that even the wind and the sea do obey him?'

28 C ând a ajuns de cealaltă parte a mării, în ţinutul gadarenilor, L-au întâlnit doi demoniaci, care ieşeau din morminte. Erau atât de cumpliţi, încât nimeni nu putea să treacă pe drumul acela.

And he having come to the other side, to the region of the Gergesenes, there met him two demoniacs, coming forth out of the tombs, very fierce, so that no one was able to pass over by that way,

29 Ş i iată că ei au început să strige: – Ce avem noi de-a face cu Tine, Fiule al lui Dumnezeu? Ai venit aici să ne chinui înainte de vreme?

and lo, they cried out, saying, `What -- to us and to thee, Jesus, Son of God? didst thou come hither, before the time, to afflict us?'

30 C eva mai departe de ei, păştea o turmă mare de porci.

And there was far off from them a herd of many swine feeding,

31 D emonii L-au rugat: – Dacă ne scoţi afară, trimite-ne în turma aceea de porci!

and the demons were calling on him, saying, `If thou dost cast us forth, permit us to go away to the herd of the swine;'

32 E l le-a zis: – Duceţi-vă. Ei au ieşit afară şi au intrat în porci. Şi deodată întreaga turmă s-a repezit pe râpă în jos, în apă, şi s-a înecat.

and he saith to them, `Go.' And having come forth, they went to the herd of the swine, and lo, the whole herd of the swine rushed down the steep, to the sea, and died in the waters,

33 P orcarii au fugit, s-au dus în cetate şi au povestit totul, inclusiv ceea ce s-a întâmplat cu cei demoniaci.

and those feeding did flee, and, having gone to the city, they declared all, and the matter of the demoniacs.

34 Ş i iată că toţi cei din cetate au ieşit să-L întâlnească pe Isus. Când L-au văzut, L-au rugat să plece din regiunea lor.

And lo, all the city came forth to meet Jesus, and having seen him, they called on that he might depart from their borders.
