1 D upă ce regele s-a stabilit în palatul lui şi după ce Domnul i-a dat odihnă izbăvindu-l de toţi duşmanii din jurul lui,

And it cometh to pass, when the king sat in his house, and Jehovah hath given rest to him round about, from all his enemies,

2 i -a zis profetului Natan: – Priveşte! Eu locuiesc într-un palat din cedru, în timp ce Chivotul lui Dumnezeu stă sub nişte pânze.

that the king saith unto Nathan the prophet, `See, I pray thee, I am dwelling in a house of cedars, and the ark of God is dwelling in the midst of the curtain.'

3 – Du-te şi fă tot ceea ce ai pe inimă, căci Domnul este cu tine! i-a răspuns Natan regelui.

And Nathan saith unto the king, `All that in thine heart -- go, do, for Jehovah with thee.'

4 Î n noaptea aceea însă, Cuvântul Domnului a venit la Natan şi i-a zis:

And it cometh to pass in that night, that the word of Jehovah is unto Nathan, saying,

5 „ Du-te şi spune-i robului Meu, lui David, astfel: «Aşa vorbeşte Domnul: ‘Oare tu Îmi vei zidi Mie o Casă de locuit?

`Go, and thou hast said unto My servant, unto David, Thus said Jehovah, Dost thou build for Me a house for My dwelling in?

6 E u n-am locuit într-o Casă din ziua în care am scos poporul Israel din Egipt şi până astăzi, ci am călătorit într-un cort drept locuinţă.

for I have not dwelt in a house even from the day of My bringing up the sons of Israel out of Egypt, even unto this day, and am walking up and down in a tent and in a tabernacle.

7 P retutindeni pe unde am călătorit împreună cu toţi israeliţii, am spus Eu oare vreunuia dintre conducătorii seminţiilor lui Israel, cărora le-am poruncit să păstorească poporul Meu, Israel: ‘De ce nu-Mi zidiţi o Casă din cedru?’»

During all that I have walked up and down among all the sons of Israel, a word have I spoken with one of the tribes of Israel which I commanded to feed my people Israel, saying, `Why have ye not built to Me a house of cedars?

8 P rin urmare, să-i spui robului Meu David, astfel: «Aşa vorbeşte Domnul Oştirilor: ‘Eu te-am luat de la stână, de la păstoritul oilor, ca să fii conducătorul poporului Meu, Israel.

and now, thus dost thou say to My servant, to David: `Thus said Jehovah of Hosts, I have taken thee from the comely place, from after the flock, to be leader over My people, over Israel;

9 A m fost cu tine pretutindeni pe unde ai mers şi am nimicit dinaintea ta pe toţi duşmanii tăi. Acum îţi voi face un nume mare, ca numele celor mari de pe pământ.

and I am with thee whithersoever thou hast gone, and I cut off all thine enemies from thy presence, and have made for thee a great name, as the name of the great ones who in the earth,

10 A m păstrat un loc pentru poporul Meu, pentru Israel, şi îl voi sădi acolo ca să locuiască singur fără să mai fie tulburat şi fără ca cei nedrepţi să-l mai poată asupri, aşa cum făcuseră mai înainte,

and I have appointed a place for My people, for Israel, and have planted it, and it hath tabernacled in its place, and it is not troubled any more, and the sons of perverseness do not add to afflict it any more, as in the beginning,

11 î ncă din zilele în care rânduisem judecători peste poporul Meu, Israel. Şi ţie îţi voi da odihnă din partea tuturor duşmanilor tăi. Acum Domnul îţi vesteşte că Domnul Însuşi îţi va face o Casă.

even from the day that I appointed judges over My people Israel; and I have given rest to thee from all thine enemies, and Jehovah hath declared to thee that Jehovah doth make for thee a house.

12 C ând ţi se vor împlini zilele şi vei fi adăugat la strămoşii tăi, îl voi ridica pe urmaşul tău, care va ieşi din trupul tău, şi-i voi întări domnia.

`When thy days are full, and thou hast lain with thy fathers, then I have raised up thy seed after thee which goeth out from thy bowels, and have established his kingdom;

13 E l va zidi Numelui Meu o Casă, şi Eu îi voi întări pe vecie tronul domniei lui.

He doth build a house for My Name, and I have established the throne of his kingdom unto the age.

14 E u voi fi Tatăl lui, iar el va fi fiul Meu. Când va păcătui îl voi mustra cu o nuia omenească şi cu lovituri date de oameni,

I am to him for a father, and he is to Me for a son; whom in his dealings perversely I have even reproved with a rod of men, and with strokes of the sons of Adam,

15 d ar nu voi îndepărta îndurarea Mea de la el, aşa cum am îndepărtat-o de la Saul, pe care l-am înlăturat dinaintea ta.

and My kindness doth not turn aside from him, as I turned it aside from Saul, whom I turned aside from before thee,

16 C i Casa ta şi regatul tău vor dăinui veşnic înaintea Mea, iar tronul tău va fi întărit pe vecie.’»“

and stedfast thy house and thy kingdom unto the age before thee, thy throne is established unto the age.'

17 N atan l-a înştiinţat pe David întocmai despre toate aceste cuvinte, despre toată această vedenie.

According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so spake Nathan unto David.

18 R egele David a intrat şi s-a aşezat înaintea Domnului, spunând: „Cine sunt eu, Stăpâne Doamne, şi cine este Casa mea, de m-ai adus până aici?

And king David cometh in and sitteth before Jehovah, and saith, `Who I, Lord Jehovah? and what my house, that Thou hast brought me hitherto?

19 Ş i ca şi cum ar fi prea puţin pentru Tine, Stăpâne Doamne, ai vorbit pe deasupra şi despre viitorul Casei robului Tău. Acesta să fie modul Tău de a lucra cu omul, Stăpâne Doamne ?

And yet this little in Thine eyes, Lord Jehovah, and Thou dost speak also concerning the house of Thy servant afar off; and this the law of the Man, Lord Jehovah.

20 C e ar putea să-Ţi mai răspundă David? Tu, Stăpâne Doamne, îl cunoşti pe robul Tău.

And what doth David add more to speak unto Thee? and Thou, Thou hast known Thy servant, Lord Jehovah.

21 D atorită cuvântului Tău şi a inimii Tale, ai făcut Tu toate aceste lucrări măreţe, descoperindu-le apoi robului Tău.

Because of Thy word, and according to Thy heart, Thou hast done all this greatness, to cause Thy servant to know.

22 C ât de măreţ eşti Tu, Stăpâne Doamne! După câte am auzit cu urechile noastre, nu este nimeni ca Tine şi nu există alt dumnezeu în afară de Tine.

Therefore Thou hast been great, Jehovah God, for there is none like Thee, and there is no God save Thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears.

23 Ş i cine este ca poporul Tău, ca Israel, singurul neam de pe pământ pe care a venit Dumnezeu să îl răscumpere pentru Sine, ca să fie poporul cu care să-Şi facă un nume? Tu ai făcut lucrări măreţe şi înfricoşătoare pentru ţara Ta, izgonind dinaintea poporului Tău, pe care Ţi l-ai răscumpărat din Egipt, neamuri şi pe zeii lor.

`And who as Thy people, as Israel -- one nation in the earth, whom God hath gone to redeem to Him for a people, and to make for Him a name -- and to do for you the greatness -- even fearful things for Thy land, at the presence of Thy people, whom Thou hast redeemed to Thee out of Egypt -- nations and their gods?

24 T u l-ai statornicit pe poporul Tău, Israel, pentru Tine, ca să fie poporul Tău pe vecie; şi Tu, Doamne, ai devenit Dumnezeul lor.

Yea, Thou dost establish to Thee Thy people Israel, to Thee for a people unto the age, and Thou, Jehovah, hast been to them for God.

25 Ş i acum, Doamne, Dumnezeule, întăreşte pe vecie promisiunea pe care ai făcut-o cu privire la robul Tău şi la Casa lui şi fă precum ai zis.

`And now, Jehovah God, the word which Thou hast spoken concerning Thy servant, and concerning his house, establish unto the age, and do as Thou hast spoken;

26 F ie preamărit Numele Tău! În veci să se spună că Domnul Oştirilor este Dumnezeu peste Israel, iar Casa robului Tău David să dăinuiască înaintea Ta!

And Thy Name is great unto the age, saying, Jehovah of Hosts God over Israel, and the house of Thy servant David is established before Thee,

27 T u, Doamne al Oştirilor, Dumnezeul lui Israel, ai descoperit robului Tău că îi vei zidi o Casă. De aceea a avut îndrăzneală robul Tău să-Ţi facă această rugăciune.

For Thou, Jehovah of Hosts, God of Israel, Thou hast uncovered the ear of Thy servant, saying, A house I build for thee, therefore hath Thy servant found his heart to pray unto Thee this prayer;

28 A şadar, Stăpâne Doamne, Tu, Cel Care eşti Dumnezeu şi ale Cărui cuvinte sunt adevăr, i-ai promis robului Tău aceste lucruri bune.

And now, Lord Jehovah, Thou God Himself, and Thy words are truth, and Thou speakest unto Thy servant this goodness,

29 B inevoieşte deci să binecuvântezi Casa robului Tău, ca să dăinuiască veşnic înaintea Ta. Căci Tu, Stăpâne Doamne, ai vorbit şi, prin binecuvântarea Ta, Casa robului Tău va fi binecuvântată pe vecie.

And now, begin and bless the house of Thy servant, to be unto the age before Thee, for Thou, Lord Jehovah, hast spoken, and by Thy blessing is the house of Thy servant blessed -- to the age.'
