1 „ Vai de cei ce urzesc nelegiuire şi uneltesc răul în aşternutul lor! Chiar din zorii dimineţii încep să le săvârşească, pentru că le stă în putere.

Wo those devising iniquity, And working evil on their beds, In the light of the morning they do it, For their hand is -- to God.

2 P oftesc ogoare, şi apoi pun mâna pe ele! Poftesc case, iar apoi şi le însuşesc! Îl jecmănesc pe om şi casa lui, pe bărbat şi moştenirea sa.

And they have desired fields, And they have taken violently, And houses, and they have taken away, And have oppressed a man and his house, Even a man and his inheritance.

3 D e aceea, aşa vorbeşte Domnul: «Iată, plănuiesc împotriva acestui clan o nenorocire de care nu vă veţi putea feri grumajii! Şi nu veţi mai umbla plini de înfumurare, căci vor fi vremuri grele.

Therefore, thus said Jehovah: Lo, I am devising against this family evil, From which ye do not remove your necks, Nor walk loftily, for a time of evil it.

4 Î n ziua aceea, veţi fi de pomină şi se va face un cântec de jale pe seama voastră, care va zice: ‘Suntem ruinaţi de tot! El înstrăinează proprietatea poporului meu! Vai cum o înlătură de la mine! Ogoarele noastre le împarte trădătorilor!’

In that day doth take up for you a simile, And he hath wailed a wailing of wo, He hath said, We have been utterly spoiled, The portion of my people He doth change, How doth He move toward me! To the backslider our fields He apportioneth.

5 D e aceea nu vei mai avea pe nimeni care să împartă ţara prin sorţ în adunarea Domnului. Falşii profeţi

Therefore, thou hast no caster of a line by lot In the assembly of Jehovah.

6 ‘ Nu mai predicaţi!’, vor predica ei atunci. ‘Să nu mai predice aceste lucruri! Ocările nu ne vor copleşi!’

Ye do not prophesy -- they do prophesy, They do not prophesy to these, It doth not remove shame.

7 D ar ce ar trebui să se zică, casă a lui Iacov? Ar trebui să se zică: ‘Se mânie chiar atât de uşor Duhul Domnului ? Acesta este felul Lui de a lucra?’ Oare nu fac bine cuvintele Mele celui ce umblă cu dreptate?

Doth the house of Jacob say, `Hath the Spirit of Jehovah been shortened? Are these His doings?' Do not My words benefit the people that is walking uprightly?

8 D e curând, poporul Meu s-a ridicat ca un duşman. Aţi smuls mantaua, ce acoperea haina, de la cei care treceau în siguranţă ca nişte oameni ce se întorc de la război.

And yesterday My people for an enemy doth raise himself up, From the outer garment the honourable ornament ye strip off, From the confident passers by, Ye who are turning back from war.

9 V oi le izgoniţi pe femeile poporului Meu din casele lor plăcute şi luaţi de la copiii lor pentru totdeauna slava Mea.

The women of My people ye cast out from its delightful house, From its sucklings ye take away My honour to the age.

10 S culaţi-vă şi plecaţi, căci acesta nu mai este locul vostru de odihnă. Pentru că a devenit necurat, el va fi distrus, iar distrugerea va fi cumplită!

Rise and go, for this not the rest, Because of uncleanness it doth corrupt, And corruption is powerful.

11 D acă un mincinos şi un înşelător ar veni şi ar spune: ‘Îţi voi predica despre vin şi despre băuturi tari!’, acela ar fi considerat drept predicatorul acestui popor! Promisiunea restaurării

If one is going the wind, And falsehood hath lied: `I prophesy to thee of wine, and of strong drink,' He hath been the prophet of this people!

12 C u siguranţă te voi strânge în întregime, Iacove! Cu siguranţă voi aduna rămăşiţa lui Israel! Îi voi pune laolaltă ca pe o turmă în ţarc, ca pe nişte oi în păşunea lor; locul acela va mişuna de oameni.

I do surely gather thee, O Jacob, all of thee, I surely bring together the remnant of Israel, Together I do set it as the flock of Bozrah, As a drove in the midst of its pasture, It maketh a noise because of man.

13 C el ce deschide calea va merge înaintea lor; ei vor pătrunde, vor intra pe poartă şi vor ieşi. Împăratul lor va trece înaintea lor, şi Domnul va fi în fruntea lor.»“

Gone up hath the breaker before them, They have broken through, Yea, they pass through the gate, Yea, they go out through it, And pass on doth their king before them, And Jehovah at their head!
