1 D umnezeu Şi-a adus aminte de Noe şi de toate vietăţile şi vitele care erau împreună cu el în arcă. Dumnezeu a făcut să sufle un vânt peste pământ, iar apele s-au potolit.

And God remembereth Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle which with him in the ark, and God causeth a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters subside,

2 F ântânile adâncului şi stăvilarele cerului au fost închise, iar ploaia din cer s-a oprit.

and closed are the fountains of the deep and the net-work of the heavens, and restrained is the shower from the heavens.

3 A pele au început să se retragă de pe pământ. La sfârşitul celor o sută cincizeci de zile, ele au scăzut,

And turn back do the waters from off the earth, going on and returning; and the waters are lacking at the end of a hundred and fifty days.

4 i ar în a şaptesprezecea zi a lunii a şaptea, arca s-a oprit pe munţii Ararat.

And the ark resteth, in the seventh month, in the seventeenth day of the month, on mountains of Ararat;

5 A pele au continuat să scadă până în luna a zecea, iar în ziua întâi a lunii a zecea, s-au văzut vârfurile munţilor.

and the waters have been going and becoming lacking till the tenth month; in the tenth, on the first of the month, appeared the heads of the mountains.

6 D upă patruzeci de zile, Noe a deschis fereastra arcei pe care a făcut-o

And it cometh to pass, at the end of forty days, that Noah openeth the window of the ark which he made,

7 ş i a trimis afară un corb care a zburat încoace şi încolo, până când apele de pe pământ s-au uscat.

and he sendeth forth the raven, and it goeth out, going out and turning back till the drying of the waters from off the earth.

8 A poi a trimis un porumbel ca să vadă dacă apele de pe pământ au scăzut;

And he sendeth forth the dove from him to see whether the waters have been lightened from off the face of the ground,

9 d ar porumbelul n-a găsit nici un loc unde să se aşeze, pentru că încă era apă pe tot pământul. De aceea el s-a întors la Noe în arcă, iar acesta şi-a întins mâna, l-a luat şi l-a adus la el în arcă.

and the dove hath not found rest for the sole of her foot, and she turneth back unto him, unto the ark, for waters on the face of all the earth, and he putteth out his hand, and taketh her, and bringeth her in unto him, unto the ark.

10 E l a mai aşteptat încă şapte zile şi apoi a trimis din nou porumbelul din arcă.

And he stayeth yet other seven days, and addeth to send forth the dove from the ark;

11 P orumbelul s-a întors la el seara, iar în cioc avea o frunză de măslin ruptă de curând. Noe şi-a dat seama că apele de pe pământ scăzuseră.

and the dove cometh in unto him at even-time, and lo, an olive leaf torn off in her mouth; and Noah knoweth that the waters have been lightened from off the earth.

12 A mai aşteptat încă şapte zile, iar apoi a trimis din nou porumbelul, dar acesta nu s-a mai întors la el.

And he stayeth yet other seven days, and sendeth forth the dove, and it added not to turn back unto him any more.

13 Î n anul şase sute unu al vieţii lui Noe, în prima zi a lunii întâi, pământul era uscat. Noe a ridicat învelitoarea arcei şi a văzut că pământul era uscat.

And it cometh to pass in the six hundredth and first year, in the first, in the first of the month, the waters have been dried from off the earth; and Noah turneth aside the covering of the ark, and looketh, and lo, the face of the ground hath been dried.

14 Î n a douăzeci şi şaptea zi a lunii a doua, pământul era uscat de tot.

And in the second month, in the seven and twentieth day of the month, the earth hath become dry.

15 A tunci Dumnezeu i-a spus lui Noe:

And God speaketh unto Noah, saying, `Go out from the ark, thou, and thy wife, and thy sons, and thy sons' wives with thee;

16 „ Ieşi afară din arcă, tu, împreună cu soţia ta, cu fiii tăi şi cu soţiile acestora.

every living thing that with thee, of all flesh, among fowl, and among cattle, and among every creeping thing which is creeping on the earth, bring out with thee;

17 S coate afară toate vieţuitoarele care sunt cu tine – păsările, animalele, precum şi toate animalele mici care mişună pe pământ – pentru ca ele să se răspândească pe pământ, să fie roditoare şi să se înmulţească.“

and they have teemed in the earth, and been fruitful, and have multiplied on the earth.'

18 A stfel, Noe a ieşit din arcă împreună cu fiii săi, cu soţia sa şi cu soţiile fiilor săi.

And Noah goeth out, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons' wives with him;

19 D e asemenea, toate vieţuitoarele, potrivit felurilor lor, toate animalele mici şi toate păsările, tot ce mişună pe pământ, au ieşit şi ele din arcă.

every beast, every creeping thing, and every fowl; every creeping thing on the earth, after their families, have gone out from the ark.

20 A tunci Noe a zidit un altar Domnului, a luat din toate animalele curate şi din toate păsările curate şi le-a adus ca ardere de tot pe altar.

And Noah buildeth an altar to Jehovah, and taketh of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and causeth burnt-offerings to ascend on the altar;

21 D omnul a simţit o aromă plăcută şi a zis în inima Lui: „Nu voi mai blestema niciodată pământul din cauza omului, chiar dacă înclinaţia minţii lui este înspre rău din tinereţe, şi nici nu voi mai distruge toate vieţuitoarele, aşa cum am făcut-o.

and Jehovah smelleth the sweet fragrance, and Jehovah saith unto His heart, `I continue not to disesteem any more the ground because of man, though the imagination of the heart of man evil from his youth; and I continue not to smite any more all living, as I have done;

22 A tâta timp cât va dăinui pământul, nu vor înceta semănatul şi seceratul, frigul şi căldura, vara şi iarna, ziua şi noaptea.“

during all days of the earth, seed-time and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night, do not cease.'
