1 D omnul i-a zis lui Moise:

And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,

2 „ Porunceşte-le israeliţilor şi spune-le: «Când veţi intra în Canaan, ţara aceasta, care v-a căzut ca moştenire, ţara Canaanului, va avea următoarele hotare:

`Command the sons of Israel, and thou hast said unto them, When ye are coming in unto the land of Canaan -- this the land which falleth to you by inheritance, the land of Canaan, by its borders --

3 P artea de sud să se întindă de la pustia Ţin până la hotarul Edomului. Astfel hotarul de sud va începe de la marginea Mării Sărate spre răsărit,

then hath the south quarter been to you from the wilderness of Zin, by the sides of Edom, yea, the south border hath been to you from the extremity of the Salt Sea, eastward;

4 v a trece pe la sud de Înălţimea Scorpionului şi va continua spre Ţin până la sud de Kadeş-Barnea. Apoi va trece prin Haţar-Adar spre Aţmon,

and the border hath turned round to you from the south to the ascent of Akrabbim, and hath passed on to Zin, and its outgoings have been from the south to Kadesh-Barnea, and it hath gone out at Hazar-Addar, and hath passed on to Azmon;

5 u nde se va întoarce până la Râul Egiptului şi se va sfârşi la mare.

and the border hath turned round from Azmon to the brook of Egypt, and its outgoings have been at the sea.

6 H otarul de apus va fi Marea cea Mare. Acesta vă va fi hotarul de apus.

`As to the west border, even the great sea hath been to you a border; this is to you the west border.

7 P entru hotarul de nord, trageţi o linie de la Marea cea Mare la muntele Hor,

`And this is to you the north border: from the great sea ye mark out for yourselves mount Hor;

8 d e la muntele Hor la Lebo-Hamat. Apoi hotarul va ajunge la Ţedad,

from mount Hor ye mark out to go in to Hamath, and the outgoings of the border have been to Zedad;

9 v a continua la Zifron şi va sfârşi la Haţar-Enan. Acesta să vă fie hotarul de nord.

and the border hath gone out to Ziphron, and its outgoings have been at Hazar-Enan; this is to you the north border.

10 P entru hotarul de răsărit, trageţi o linie de la Haţar-Enan la Şefam.

`And ye have marked out for yourselves for the border eastward, from Hazar-Enan to Shepham;

11 H otarul va coborî de la Şefam la Ribla, la răsărit de Ayin, şi va continua pe marginea de răsărit a mării Chineret.

and the border hath gone down from Shepham to Riblah, on the east of Ain, and the border hath gone down, and hath smitten against the shoulder of the sea of Chinnereth eastward;

12 A poi hotarul va coborî de-a lungul Iordanului şi se va sfârşi la Marea Sărată. Aceasta va fi ţara voastră, cu hotarele ei de jur împrejur.»“

and the border hath gone down to the Jordan, and its outgoings have been at the Salt Sea; this is for you the land by its borders round about.'

13 M oise le-a poruncit israeliţilor: „Aceasta este ţara pe care o veţi lua în stăpânire prin tragere la sorţi. Domnul a poruncit să fie dată la nouă seminţii şi jumătate,

And Moses commandeth the sons of Israel, saying, `This the land which ye inherit by lot, which Jehovah hath commanded to give to the nine tribes and the half of the tribe;

14 c ăci seminţia urmaşilor lui Ruben, potrivit familiilor lor, seminţia urmaşilor lui Gad, potrivit familiilor lor şi jumătate din seminţia lui Manase şi-au primit moştenirea.

for the tribe of the sons of Reuben have received, by the house of their fathers; and the tribe of the children of Gad, by the house of their fathers; and the half of the tribe of Manasseh have received their inheritance;

15 A ceste două seminţii şi jumătate şi-au primit moştenirea la răsărit de Iordan, în faţa Ierihonului, spre răsărit.“ Numele celor care trebuie să împartă ţara

the two tribes and the half of the tribe have received their inheritance beyond the Jordan, Jericho, eastward, at the -rising.'

16 D omnul i-a mai zis lui Moise:

And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,

17 „ Iată numele bărbaţilor care trebuie să vă împartă ţara: preotul Elazar şi Iosua, fiul lui Nun.

`These the names of the men who give to you the inheritance of the land: Eleazar the priest, and Joshua son of Nun,

18 S ă numeşti împreună cu ei câte un bărbat din fiecare seminţie, care să-i ajute la împărţirea ţării.

and one prince -- one prince -- for a tribe ye do take to give the land by inheritance.

19 I ată numele acestor bărbaţi: Caleb, fiul lui Iefune, din seminţia lui Iuda;

`And these the names of the men: of the tribe of Judah, Caleb son of Jephunneh;

20 S amuel, fiul lui Amihud, din seminţia lui Simeon;

and of the tribe of the sons of Simeon, Shemuel son of Aminihud;

21 E lidad, fiul lui Chislon, din seminţia lui Beniamin;

of the tribe of Benjamin, Elidad son of Chislon;

22 B uchi, fiul lui Iogli, conducător din seminţia lui Dan;

and of the tribe of the sons of Dan, the prince Bukki son of Jogli;

23 H aniel, fiul lui Efod, conducător din seminţia lui Manase, fiul lui Iosif;

of the sons of Joseph, of the tribe of the sons of Manasseh, the prince Hanniel son of Ephod;

24 C hemuel, fiul lui Şiftan, conducător din seminţia lui Efraim, fiul lui Iosif;

and of the tribe of the sons of Ephraim, the prince Kemuel son of Shiphtan;

25 E liţafan, fiul lui Parnak, conducător din seminţia lui Zabulon;

and of the tribe of the sons of Zebulun, the prince Elizaphan son of Parnach;

26 P altiel, fiul lui Azan, conducător din seminţia lui Isahar;

and of the tribe of the sons of Issachar, the prince Paltiel son of Azzan;

27 A hihud, fiul lui Şelomi, conducător din seminţia lui Aşer;

and of the tribe of the sons of Asher, the prince Ahihud son of Shelomi;

28 P edahel, fiul lui Amihud, conducător din seminţia lui Neftali.“

and of the tribe of the sons of Naphtali, the prince Pedahel son of Ammihud.'

29 A ceştia sunt bărbaţii cărora Domnul le-a poruncit să le împartă israeliţilor moştenirea în ţara Canaanului.

These those whom Jehovah hath commanded to give the sons of Israel inheritance in the land of Canaan.
