1 A poi Domnul mi-a zis: – Chiar dacă Moise şi Samuel s-ar înfăţişa înaintea Mea, Eu tot n-aş fi binevoitor cu cei din poporul acesta. Izgoneşte-i dinaintea Mea! Să plece!

And Jehovah saith unto me: Though Moses and Samuel should stand before Me, My soul is not toward this people, Send from before My face, and they go out.

2 D acă te vor întreba unde să se ducă, să le răspunzi că aşa vorbeşte Domnul: „Cei destinaţi morţii – la moarte; cei destinaţi sabiei – la sabie; cei destinaţi foametei – la foamete; şi cei destinaţi robiei – în robie.“

And it hath come to pass, when they say to thee, Whither do we go out? that thou hast said unto them, Thus said Jehovah: Those who for death -- to death, And those who are for the sword, to the sword, And those who are for famine, to famine, And those who are for captivity, to captivity.

3 V oi trimite împotriva lor patru feluri de nenorociri, zice Domnul: sabia, ca să-i ucidă; câinii, ca să-i sfâşie; păsările cerului şi fiarele pământului – ca să-i mănânce şi să-i distrugă.

And I have appointed over them four kinds, an affirmation of Jehovah, The sword to slay, and the dogs to drag, And the fowl of the heavens, And the beast of the earth, to consume and to devour.

4 Î i voi face să fie dezgustători pentru toate regatele pământului, din cauza faptelor lui Manase, fiul lui Ezechia, regele lui Iuda, pe care le-a săvârşit în Ierusalim.

And I have given them for a trembling To all kingdoms of the earth, Because of Manasseh son of Hezekiah king of Judah, For that which he did in Jerusalem.

5 „ Cui îi va fi milă de tine, Ierusalime? Cine va plânge pentru tine? Cine va veni să te întrebe de sănătate?

For who hath pity on thee, O Jerusalem? And who doth bemoan for thee? And who turneth aside to ask of thy welfare?

6 M -ai respins, zice Domnul, continui să-Mi întorci spatele. De aceea Îmi întind mâna împotriva ta şi te distrug. M-am săturat să mai am milă de tine.“

Thou -- thou hast left Me -- an affirmation of Jehovah, Backward thou goest, And I stretch out My hand against thee, And I destroy thee, I have been weary of repenting,

7 Î i voi vântura cu furca la porţile ţării; îi voi lipsi de copii şi îi voi distruge pe cei din poporul Meu, căci nu şi-au schimbat căile.

And I scatter them with a fan, in the gates the land, I bereaved, I have destroyed My people, From their ways they turned not back.

8 V ăduvele lor vor fi mai numeroase decât nisipul mării. Ziua în amiaza mare voi aduce nimicitorul peste mama celui tânăr; voi face să cadă deodată peste ea chinul şi groaza.

Its widows have been more to Me than the sand of the seas, I brought in to them -- against the mother -- A young man -- a spoiler -- at noon. I caused to fall upon her suddenly, wrath and trouble.

9 C ea care născuse şapte fii va fi slăbită, îşi va da duhul. Soarele ei va apune când este încă ziuă; va fi ruşinată şi umilită. Pe cei rămaşi în viaţă îi voi da pradă sabiei, înaintea duşmanilor lor, zice Domnul.

Languished hath the bearer of seven, She hath breathed out her spirit, Gone in hath her sun while yet day, It hath been ashamed and confounded, And their residue to the sword I give up before their enemies, An affirmation of Jehovah.

10 – Vai de mine, mamă, pentru că m-ai născut! Pe mine, om de ceartă şi de neînţelegere pentru toată ţara. Nu dau împrumut, nici nu iau împrumut şi totuşi toţi mă blestemă!

Wo to me, my mother, For thou hast borne me a man of strife, And a man of contention to all the land, I have not lent on usury, Nor have they lent on usury to me -- All of them are reviling me.

11 D omnul a zis: – Cu siguranţă te voi elibera, ca să fii fericit. Cu siguranţă îi voi face pe duşmanii tăi să te implore în vremurile de nenorocire şi de necaz.

Jehovah said, Did I not direct thee for good? Did not I intercede for thee in a time of evil, And in a time of adversity, with the enemy?

12 P oate cineva să frângă fierul – fierul din nord – sau bronzul?

Doth one break iron -- northern iron, and brass?

13 A verile şi comorile tale le voi da ca pradă, fără preţ, din cauza tuturor păcatelor tale săvârşite pe întreg ţinutul tău.

Thy strength and thy treasures For a prey I do give -- not for price, Even for all thy sins, and in all thy borders.

14 T e voi face să slujeşti duşmanilor tăi, într-o ţară pe care nu o cunoşti, căci focul mâniei Mele s-a aprins şi arde peste voi.

And I have caused thine enemies To pass over into the land -- Thou hast not known, For a fire hath been kindled in Mine anger, Against you it doth burn.

15 – Tu ştii totul, Doamne! Adu-Ţi aminte de mine şi ai grijă de mine! Răzbună-mă împotriva celor ce mă persecută! Tu eşti îndelung răbdător – nu mă alunga! Tu ştii cât dispreţ sufăr pentru Tine!

Thou, Thou hast known, O Jehovah, Remember me, and inspect me, And take vengeance for me of my pursuers, In Thy long-suffering take me not away, Know -- I have borne for Thee reproach.

16 C ând am găsit cuvintele Tale, le-am mâncat. Cuvintele Tale au fost bucuria şi desfătarea inimii mele, căci Numele Tău este chemat peste mine, Doamne, Dumnezeul Oştirilor!

Thy words have been found, and I eat them, And Thy word is to me for a joy, And for the rejoicing of my heart, For Thy name is called on me, O Jehovah, God of Hosts.

17 N -am şezut niciodată în compania petrecăreţilor, ca să mă înveselesc cu ei. Am stat singur, pentru că mâna Ta era peste mine şi mă umpluseşi de indignare.

I have not sat in an assembly of deriders, Nor do I exult, because of thy hand, -- Alone I have sat, For indignation Thou hast filled me.

18 D e ce durerea mea este fără sfârşit? De ce rana mea este incurabilă şi refuză să se vindece? Vei fi Tu pentru mine ca un izvor înşelător, ca o apă care seacă?

Why hath my pain been perpetual? And my wound incurable? It hath refused to be healed, Thou art surely to me as a failing stream, Waters not stedfast.

19 – Aşa vorbeşte Domnul: „Dacă te vei întoarce la Mine, te voi aduce din nou să stai înaintea Mea. Dacă vei rosti cuvinte de valoare, şi nu cuvinte de nimic, vei fi ca gura Mea. Ei să se întoarcă la tine, şi nu tu să te întorci la ei!

Therefore, thus said Jehovah: If thou turnest back, then I bring thee back, Before Me thou dost stand, And if thou bringest out the precious from the vile, As My mouth thou art! They -- they turn back unto thee, And thou dost not turn back unto them.

20 T e voi face un zid pentru cei din poporul acesta, un zid tare din bronz. Ei vor lupta împotriva ta, însă nu te vor învinge, căci Eu sunt cu tine ca să te eliberez şi să te izbăvesc, zice Domnul.

And I have made thee to this people For a wall -- brazen -- fenced, And they have fought against thee, And they do not prevail against thee, For with thee I to save thee, And to deliver thee -- an affirmation of Jehovah,

21 T e voi izbăvi din mâinile celor răi şi te voi răscumpăra din palmele celor ce inspiră teamă.“

And I have delivered thee from the hand of evil doers, And I have ransomed thee From the hand of the terrible!
