1 N e-am întors şi am luat-o în sus pe drumul către Başan. Og, regele Başanului, ne-a ieşit înainte împreună cu toţi oamenii lui ca să se lupte cu noi la Edrei.

`And we turn, and go up the way to Bashan, and Og king of Bashan cometh out to meet us, he and all his people, to battle, Edrei.

2 D omnul mi-a zis: «Nu te teme de el, căci l-am dat în mâna ta, cu tot cu poporul şi ţara sa. Să-i faci aşa cum i-ai făcut lui Sihon, regele amoriţilor, care locuia în Heşbon.»

`And Jehovah saith unto me, Fear him not, for into thy hand I have given him, and all his people, and his land, and thou hast done to him as thou hast done to Sihon king of the Amorite who is dwelling in Heshbon.

3 E l l-a dat în mâinile noastre şi pe Og, regele Başanului, împreună cu tot poporul lui. I-am lovit până ce n-a mai rămas nici un supravieţuitor.

`And Jehovah our God giveth into our hands also Og king of Bashan, and all his people, and we smite him till there hath not been left to him a remnant;

4 A m cucerit atunci toate cetăţile, până când n-a mai rămas nici una pe care să n-o fi luat de la ei, din cele şaizeci de cetăţi din tot ţinutul Argobului, din regatul lui Og din Başan.

and we capture all his cities at that time, there hath not been a city which we have not taken from them, sixty cities, all the region of Argob, the kingdom of Og in Bashan.

5 A ceste cetăţi erau fortificate cu ziduri înalte, cu porţi şi zăvoare; pe lângă acestea mai erau şi satele fără ziduri, şi ele numeroase.

All these cities fenced with high walls, two-leaved doors and bar, apart from cities of villages very many;

6 N oi le-am distrus cu totul, aşa cum îi făcusem şi lui Sihon, regele Heşbonului, nimicind bărbaţii, femeile şi copiii din fiecare cetate.

and we devote them, as we have done to Sihon king of Heshbon, devoting every city, men, the women, and the infants;

7 D ar toate animalele şi bunurile care erau în cetăţi le-am luat ca pradă pentru noi.

and all the cattle, and the spoil of the cities, we have spoiled for ourselves.

8 A stfel, în perioada aceea am cucerit de la doi regi amoriţi teritoriile care sunt la răsărit de Iordan, de la uedul Arnon până la muntele Hermon

`And we take, at that time, the land out of the hand of the two kings of the Amorite, which is beyond the Jordan, from the brook Arnon unto mount Hermon;

9 ( Hermonul fiind numit Sirion de către sidoniţi şi Senir de către amoriţi),

(Sidonians call Hermon, Sirion; and the Amorites call it Senir,)

10 t oate cetăţile podişului, întreg Ghiladul şi tot Başanul până la Salca şi Edrei, cetăţi ale regatului lui Og, în Başan.

all the cities of the plain, and all Gilead, and all Bashan, unto Salchah and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan,

11 ( Doar Og, regele Başanului, mai rămăsese din neamul refaiţilor. Patul lui este unul de fier şi se află la Raba, cetatea amoniţilor. Are o lungime de nouă coţi şi o lăţime de patru coţi, după cotul unui om. ) Împărţirea Transiordaniei

for only Og king of Bashan had been left of the remnant of the Rephaim; lo, his bedstead a bedstead of iron; is it not in Rabbath of the sons of Ammon? nine cubits its length, and four cubits its breadth, by the cubit of a man.

12 A cesta era teritoriul pe care-l luasem în stăpânire atunci. Le-am dat rubeniţilor şi gadiţilor ţinutul de la Aroer, care este lângă uedul Arnon, precum şi jumătate din regiunea muntoasă a Ghiladului împreună cu cetăţile ei.

`And this land we have possessed, at that time; from Aroer, which by the brook Arnon, and the half of mount Gilead, and its cities, I have given to the Reubenite, and to the Gadite;

13 C eea ce mai rămăsese din Ghilad şi tot Başanul, regatul lui Og, am dat unei jumătăţi din seminţia lui Manase. (Întreaga regiune a Argobului din Başan era cunoscută ca ţara refaiţilor.

and the rest of Gilead and all Bashan, the kingdom of Og, I have given to the half tribe of Manasseh; all the region of Argob, to all that Bashan, called the land of Rephaim.

14 I air, urmaşul lui Manase, a luat în stăpânire întreaga regiune a Argobului până la hotarul cu gheşuriţii şi maacatiţii. El a numit acele aşezări după numele său, acestea chemându-se până astăzi Havot-Iair.)

`Jair son of Manasseh hath taken all the region of Argob, unto the border of Geshuri, and Maachathi, and calleth them by his own name, Bashan-Havoth-Jair, unto this day.

15 I ar Ghiladul l-am dat lui Machir.

And to Machir I have given Gilead.

16 R ubeniţilor şi gadiţilor le-am dat ţinutul de la Ghilad până la uedul Arnon, al cărui mijloc ţine loc de hotar şi până la uedul Iabok, care este hotarul amoniţilor.

`And to the Reubenite and to the Gadite I have given from Gilead even unto the brook Arnon, the middle of the valley and the border, even unto Jabbok the brook, the border of the sons of Ammon,

17 L e-am dat Araba, care se întinde până la Iordan, din Chineret până la Marea Arabei (Marea Sărată), iar spre răsărit – până la poalele muntelui Pisga.

and the plain, and the Jordan, and the border, from Chinnereth even unto the sea of the plain, the salt sea, under the springs of Pisgah, at the -rising.

18 Î n vremea aceea v-am poruncit astfel: « Domnul, Dumnezeul vostru, v-a dat ţara aceasta în stăpânire. Toţi cei puternici să meargă înarmaţi înaintea fraţilor lor israeliţi.

`And I command you, at that time, saying, Jehovah your God hath given to you this land to possess it; armed ye pass over before your brethren the sons of Israel, all the sons of might.

19 N umai soţiile, copiii şi vitele voastre – ştiu că aveţi multe vite – să rămână în cetăţile pe care vi le-am dat,

Only, your wives, and your infants, and your cattle -- I have known that ye have much cattle -- do dwell in your cities which I have given to you,

20 p ână când Domnul le va da odihnă fraţilor voştri la fel ca şi vouă şi vor stăpâni ţara pe care El le-a dat-o dincolo de Iordan. După aceea fiecare se va întoarce la proprietatea lui.»

till that Jehovah give rest to your brethren like yourselves, and they also have possessed the land which Jehovah your God is giving to them beyond the Jordan, then ye have turned back each to his possession, which I have given to you.

21 T ot atunci i-am spus lui Iosua: «Ai fost martor la tot ceea ce Domnul, Dumnezeul vostru, a făcut acestor doi regi; tot aşa va face tuturor regatelor împotriva cărora vei merge.

`And Jehoshua I have commanded at that time, saying, Thine eyes are seeing all that which Jehovah your God hath done to these two kings -- so doth Jehovah to all the kingdoms whither thou are passing over;

22 D eci să nu vă temeţi de ei, fiindcă Însuşi Domnul, Dumnezeul vostru, va lupta pentru voi.» Moise este oprit să treacă Iordanul

fear them not, for Jehovah your God, He is fighting for you.

23 Î n perioada aceea m-am rugat Domnului şi I-am zis:

`And I entreat for grace unto Jehovah, at that time, saying,

24 « Stăpâne Doamne! Tu ai început să arăţi robului Tău măreţia şi puterea mâinii Tale, căci care este dumnezeul acela, în cer sau pe pământ, care să poată face lucrări ca ale Tale şi să aibă o putere asemănătoare cu a Ta?

Lord Jehovah, Thou -- Thou hast begun to shew Thy servant Thy greatness, and Thy strong hand; for who a God in the heavens or in earth who doth according to Thy works, and according to Thy might?

25 D ă-mi voie, Te rog, să trec şi să văd ţara aceea bună care este dincolo de Iordan, munţii aceia frumoşi şi Libanul.»

Let me pass over, I pray Thee, and see the good land which beyond the Jordan, this good hill-country, and Lebanon.

26 D ar Domnul s-a mâniat pe mine din cauza voastră şi nu m-a ascultat. El mi-a răspuns: «Destul! Nu-Mi mai vorbi despre lucrul acesta.

`And Jehovah sheweth himself wroth with me, for your sake, and hath not hearkened unto me, and Jehovah saith unto me, Enough for thee; add not to speak unto Me any more about this thing:

27 U rcă-te pe vârful Pisga şi priveşte spre apus, spre nord, spre sud şi spre răsărit. Priveşte-o cu ochii tăi, pentru că nu vei trece Iordanul.

go up the top of Pisgah, and lift up thine eyes westward, and northward, and southward, and eastward, and see with thine eyes -- for thou dost not pass over this Jordan;

28 I nstruieşte-l pe Iosua, încurajează-l şi întăreşte-l, fiindcă el va merge înaintea acestui popor şi el îl va ajuta să stăpânească ţara pe care tu o vei vedea.»

and charge Jehoshua, and strengthen him, and harden him, for he doth pass over before this people, and he doth cause them to inherit the land which thou seest.

29 Ş i astfel am rămas în valea care este aproape de Bet-Peor.

`And we dwell in a valley over-against Beth-Peor.
