1 E ste cunoscut faptul că între voi există desfrâu şi încă un desfrâu din acela cum nici între neamuri nu se găseşte, până acolo încât un om trăieşte cu soţia tatălui său.

Whoredom is actually heard of among you, and such whoredom as is not even named among the nations -- as that one hath the wife of the father! --

2 I ar voi aţi devenit aroganţi şi nu v-aţi mâhnit mai degrabă, pentru ca acela care a făcut lucrul acesta să fie dat afară din mijlocul vostru?

and ye are having been puffed up, and did not rather mourn, that he may be removed out of the midst of you who did this work,

3 C hiar dacă sunt absent cu trupul, totuşi, în duh, sunt cu voi şi l-am şi judecat deja pe cel ce a săvârşit un astfel de lucru, ca şi cum aş fi prezent.

for I indeed, as being absent as to the body, and present as to the spirit, have already judged, as being present, him who so wrought this thing:

4 Î n Numele Domnului Isus, voi şi cu duhul meu, fiind adunaţi laolaltă, împreună cu puterea Domnului nostru Isus,

in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ -- ye being gathered together, also my spirit -- with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,

5 a m hotărât să daţi un astfel de om pe mâna lui Satan, pentru nimicirea trupului, pentru ca duhul lui să fie mântuit în ziua Domnului.

to deliver up such a one to the Adversary for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

6 L auda voastră nu este un lucru bun. Nu ştiţi că puţină drojdie dospeşte tot aluatul?

Not good your glorying; have ye not known that a little leaven the whole lump doth leaven?

7 C urăţaţi drojdia veche, ca să fiţi un aluat nou, fără drojdie, cum de fapt şi sunteţi, întrucât Cristos, Mielul nostru de Paşte, a fost jertfit.

cleanse out, therefore, the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, according as ye are unleavened, for also our passover for us was sacrificed -- Christ,

8 A şadar, să sărbătorim nu cu drojdia veche, nici cu drojdia răutăţii şi ticăloşiei, ci cu azimele sincerităţii şi adevărului.

so that we may keep the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of evil and wickedness, but with unleavened food of sincerity and truth.

9 V -am scris în scrisoarea mea să nu vă asociaţi cu cei desfrânaţi,

I did write to you in the epistle, not to keep company with whoremongers --

10 d ar nu m-am referit la oamenii desfrânaţi ai acestei lumi sau la cei lacomi şi tâlhari, sau la cei idolatri, pentru că atunci ar trebui să ieşiţi din lume.

and not certainly with the whoremongers of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or idolaters, seeing ye ought then to go forth out of the world --

11 C i vă scriu să nu vă asociaţi cu nimeni care îşi zice frate, dar este desfrânat sau lacom, sau idolatru, sau bârfitor, sau beţiv, sau tâlhar. Cu un astfel de om nici măcar să nu mâncaţi!

and now, I did write to you not to keep company with, if any one, being named a brother, may be a whoremonger, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner -- with such a one not even to eat together;

12 D e ce să-i judec pe cei de afară? N-ar trebui să-i judecaţi pe cei dinăuntru?

for what have I also those without to judge? those within do ye not judge?

13 P e cei de afară îi va judeca Dumnezeu. „Daţi-l afară din mijlocul vostru pe omul acela rău!“

and those without God doth judge; and put ye away the evil from among yourselves.
