1 C uvântul Domnului a venit la mine şi mi-a zis:

And there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying:

2 „ Fiul omului, îndreaptă-ţi faţa spre Gog, din ţara lui Magog, prinţ conducător al Meşekului şi al Tubalului, şi profeţeşte împotriva lui.

`Son of man, set thy face unto Gog, of the land of Magog, prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal, and prophesy concerning him,

3 S pune că aşa vorbeşte Stăpânul Domn: «Iată, sunt împotriva ta, Gog, prinţ conducător al Meşekului şi al Tubalului.

and thou hast said: Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Lo, I against thee, O Gog, Prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal,

4 T e voi întoarce, îţi voi pune cârlige în fălci şi te voi scoate afară pentru luptă, pe tine şi pe toată oştirea ta, cai şi călăreţi, toţi echipaţi în chip minunat, o mare mulţime cu scut şi pavăză, cu toţii mânuind sabia.

And I have turned thee back, And I have put hooks in thy jaws, And have brought thee out, and all thy force, Horses and horsemen, Clothed in perfection all of them, A numerous assembly, buckler and shield, Handling swords -- all of them.

5 P ersia, Cuş şi Put vor fi împreună cu ei, cu toţii având scut şi coif.

Persia, Cush, and Phut, with them, All of them shield and helmet.

6 V a mai fi şi Gomer cu toate hoardele lui, precum şi Bet-Togarma, din părţile îndepărtate ale nordului, cu toate hoardele ei – împreună cu tine vor fi multe popoare.

Gomer and all its bands, The house of Togarmah of the sides of the north, And all its bands, many peoples with thee,

7 P regăteşte-te deci şi fii gata, atât tu, cât şi toată mulţimea adunată în jurul tău! Tu îi vei fi călăuză!

Be prepared, yea, prepare for thee, Thou and all thine assemblies who are assembled unto thee, And thou hast been to them for a guard.

8 D upă multe zile vei fi pregătit; la sfârşitul anilor vei veni împotriva unei ţări refăcute de pe urma sabiei şi adunată din mai multe popoare pe munţii lui Israel, munţi care fuseseră multă vreme pustii. Ea va fi atunci o ţară scoasă dintre popoare, care locuieşte în siguranţă.

After many days thou art appointed, In the latter end of the years thou comest in unto a land brought back from sword, gathered out of many peoples, Upon mountains of Israel, That have been for a perpetual waste, And it from the peoples hath been brought out, And dwelt safely have all of them.

9 V ei înainta şi vei veni ca o furtună devastatoare; vei fi ca un nor care acoperă ţara, tu, împreună cu hoardele tale şi cu toate popoarele cele multe.»

And thou hast gone up -- as wasting thou comest in, As a cloud to cover the land art thou, Thou and all thy bands, and many peoples with thee.

10 A şa vorbeşte Stăpânul Domn: «În ziua aceea multe gânduri îţi vor trece prin minte şi vei pune la cale un plan rău.

Thus said the Lord Jehovah: And it hath come to pass in that day, Come up do things on thy heart, And thou hast thought an evil thought,

11 V ei zice: ‘Voi înainta împotriva acestei ţări pline de sate nefortificate şi voi ataca nişte oameni liniştiţi, care stau fără griji în locuinţele lor, toţi în locuinţe fără ziduri, fără zăvoare şi fără porţi.

And thou hast said: I go up against a land of unwalled villages, I go in to those at rest, dwelling confidently, All of them are dwelling without walls, And bar and doors they have not.

12 V oi prăda ce este de prădat şi voi jefui ce este de jefuit. Îmi voi întoarce mâna împotriva acestor ruine locuite din nou şi împotriva acestui popor adunat dintre neamuri, care are vite şi avuţii şi locuieşte în centrul ţării.’

To take a spoil, and to take a prey, To turn back thy hand on inhabited wastes, And on a people gathered out of nations, Making cattle and substance, Dwelling on a high part of the land.

13 Ş eba şi Dedan, negustorii din Tarşiş şi toţi leii lui tineri îţi vor zice: ‘Vii să prădezi ce este de prădat? Ţi-ai adunat mulţimea să jefuieşti ce este de jefuit, să-ţi însuşeşti argint şi aur, să iei vite şi avuţii, ca să obţii o pradă mare?’»

Sheba, and Dedan, and merchants of Tarshish, And all its young lions say to thee: To take a spoil art thou come in? To take a prey assembled thine assembly? To bear away silver and gold? To take away cattle and substance? To take a great spoil?

14 D e aceea profeţeşte, fiul omului, şi spune-i lui Gog că aşa vorbeşte Stăpânul Domn: «Nu-i aşa că te vei pregăti în ziua aceea, când poporul Meu, Israel, va locui în siguranţă?

Therefore, prophesy, son of man, and thou hast said to Gog: Thus said the Lord Jehovah: In that day, in the dwelling of My people Israel safely, Dost thou not know?

15 A tunci vei veni din ţinutul tău, din părţile îndepărtate ale nordului, tu şi popoarele cele multe împreună cu tine, toţi călare pe cai, o mare mulţime, o oştire numeroasă.

And thou hast come in out of thy place, From the sides of the north, Thou and many peoples with thee, Riding on horses -- all of them, A great assembly, and a numerous force.

16 G og, vei înainta împotriva poporului Meu Israel, ca un nor care acoperă ţara. În zilele de pe urmă te voi aduce împotriva ţării Mele ca să Mă cunoască neamurile, când Mă voi arăta sfânt prin tine înaintea ochilor lor!»

And thou hast come up against My people Israel, As a cloud to cover the land, In the latter end of the days it is, And I have brought thee in against My land, In order that the nations may know Me, In My being sanctified in thee before their eyes, O Gog.

17 A şa vorbeşte Stăpânul Domn: «Nu eşti tu acela despre care am vorbit în vechime prin slujitorii Mei, profeţii lui Israel? Ei au profeţit atunci ani de-a rândul că te voi aduce împotriva lor.

Thus said the Lord Jehovah: Art thou he of whom I spake in former days, By the hand of My servants, prophets of Israel, Who are prophesying in those days -- years, To bring thee in against them?

18 Î n ziua aceea, în ziua în care Gog va veni împotriva ţării lui Israel, zice Stăpânul Domn, Îmi va izbucni furia aprinsă.

And it hath come to pass, in that day, In the day of the coming in of Gog against the land of Israel, An affirmation of the Lord Jehovah, Come up doth My fury in My face,

19 Î n gelozia şi în focul răbufnirii Mele, declar că în ziua aceea va fi un mare cutremur în ţara lui Israel.

And in My zeal, in the fire of My wrath, I have spoken: Is there not in that day a great rushing on the land of Israel?

20 P eştii mării, păsările cerului, fiarele câmpului, toate creaturile care se târăsc pe pământ şi toţi oamenii de pe faţa pământului se vor cutremura de prezenţa Mea. Atunci munţii se vor răsturna, stâncile vor cădea şi orice zid se va prăbuşi la pământ.

And rushed from My presence have fishes of the sea, And the fowl of the heavens, And the beast of the field, And every creeping thing that is creeping on the ground, And all men who on the face of the ground, And thrown down have been the mountains, And fallen have the ascents, And every wall to the earth falleth.

21 V oi chema o sabie împotriva lui Gog pe toţi munţii Mei, zice Stăpânul Domn; sabia fiecărui om va fi împotriva fratelui său.

And I have called against him, to all My mountains a sword, An affirmation of the Lord Jehovah, The sword of each is against his brother.

22 Î l voi judeca prin molimă şi prin vărsare de sânge. Ploaie năprasnică, grindină cât piatra, foc şi pucioasă voi revărsa peste el, peste hoardele lui şi peste multele popoare care vor fi cu el.

And I have been judged with him, With pestilence and with blood, And an overflowing rain and hailstones, Fire and brimstone I rain on him, and on his bands, And on many peoples who with him.

23 Î mi voi arăta astfel mărirea şi sfinţenia şi Mă voi face cunoscut în ochii multor neamuri. Şi vor şti că Eu sunt Domnul. »“

And I have magnified Myself, and sanctified Myself, And I have been known before the eyes of many nations, And they have known that I Jehovah!
