1 D upă Sabat, în timp ce se iveau zorii primei zile din săptămână, Maria Magdalena şi cealaltă Marie s-au dus să vadă mormântul.

And on the eve of the sabbaths, at the dawn, toward the first of the sabbaths, came Mary the Magdalene, and the other Mary, to see the sepulchre,

2 Ş i iată că a avut loc un cutremur mare, căci un înger al Domnului a coborât din cer şi s-a dus de a rostogolit piatra şi s-a aşezat pe ea.

and lo, there came a great earthquake, for a messenger of the Lord, having come down out of heaven, having come, did roll away the stone from the door, and was sitting upon it,

3 Î nfăţişarea lui era ca fulgerul, iar îmbrăcămintea lui era albă ca zăpada.

and his countenance was as lightning, and his clothing white as snow,

4 G ardienii au început să tremure de frică şi au rămas ca morţi.

and from the fear of him did the keepers shake, and they became as dead men.

5 Î ngerul le-a zis femeilor: „Nu vă temeţi! Ştiu că Îl căutaţi pe Isus Care a fost răstignit!

And the messenger answering said to the women, `Fear not ye, for I have known that Jesus, who hath been crucified, ye seek;

6 N u este aici, pentru că a fost înviat, aşa cum a spus! Veniţi şi vedeţi locul unde fusese pus

he is not here, for he rose, as he said; come, see the place where the Lord was lying;

7 ş i apoi duceţi-vă repede şi spuneţi-le ucenicilor Lui: «A fost înviat dintre cei morţi! Şi iată că El merge înaintea voastră în Galileea! Acolo Îl veţi vedea!» Iată că v-am spus lucrul acesta!“

and having gone quickly, say ye to his disciples, that he rose from the dead; and lo, he doth go before you to Galilee, there ye shall see him; lo, I have told you.'

8 E le au plecat repede de la mormânt, cu frică şi cu mare bucurie, şi au alergat să-i anunţe pe ucenici.

And having gone forth quickly from the tomb, with fear and great joy, they ran to tell to his disciples;

9 D ar iată că le-a ieşit înainte Isus şi le-a zis: „Salutare!“ Ele s-au apropiat, I-au cuprins picioarele şi I s-au închinat.

and as they were going to tell to his disciples, then lo, Jesus met them, saying, `Hail!' and they having come near, laid hold of his feet, and did bow to him.

10 A tunci Isus le-a zis: „Nu vă temeţi! Duceţi-vă şi anunţaţi-i pe fraţii Mei să meargă în Galileea; acolo Mă vor vedea!“ Raportul gărzii şi înşelătoria conducătorilor

Then saith Jesus to them, `Fear ye not, go away, tell to my brethren that they may go away to Galilee, and there they shall see me.'

11 Î n timp ce plecau ele, câţiva dintre gardieni s-au dus în cetate şi i-au înştiinţat pe conducătorii preoţilor cu privire la tot ce se întâmplase.

And while they are going on, lo, certain of the watch having come to the city, told to the chief priests all the things that happened,

12 A ceştia s-au adunat împreună cu bătrânii, au ţinut sfat şi le-au dat soldaţilor mulţi bani,

and having been gathered together with the elders, counsel also having taken, they gave much money to the soldiers,

13 z icându-le: „Să spuneţi aşa: «Ucenicii Lui au venit noaptea, în timp ce noi dormeam, şi L-au furat!»

saying, `Say ye, that his disciples having come by night, stole him -- we being asleep;

14 I ar dacă vestea aceasta va ajunge la guvernator, îl vom convinge noi şi vă vom scăpa de grijă!“

and if this be heard by the governor, we will persuade him, and you keep free from anxiety.'

15 E i au luat banii şi au făcut aşa cum fuseseră învăţaţi. Şi zvonul acesta s-a răspândit printre iudei până în ziua de astăzi. Marea Însărcinare

And they, having received the money, did as they were taught, and this account was spread abroad among Jews till this day.

16 C ei unsprezece ucenici s-au dus în Galileea, la muntele la care le spusese Isus să meargă.

And the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mount where Jesus appointed them,

17 C ând L-au văzut, I s-au închinat, dar unii s-au îndoit.

and having seen him, they bowed to him, but some did waver.

18 I sus S-a apropiat de ei şi le-a vorbit astfel: „Toată autoritatea Mi-a fost dată în cer şi pe pământ.

And having come near, Jesus spake to them, saying, `Given to me was all authority in heaven and on earth;

19 P rin urmare, duceţi-vă şi faceţi ucenici din toate neamurile, botezându-i în Numele Tatălui, al Fiului şi al Duhului Sfânt

having gone, then, disciple all the nations, (baptizing them -- to the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,

20 ş i învăţându-i să păzească tot ce v-am poruncit! Şi iată că Eu sunt cu voi în toate zilele, până la sfârşitul veacului!“

teaching them to observe all, whatever I did command you,) and lo, I am with you all the days -- till the full end of the age.'
