1 A poi Domnul i-a zis lui Moise:

And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,

2 „ Spune-le israeliţilor să se întoarcă şi să-şi aşeze tabăra lângă Pi-Hahirot, între Migdol şi mare, faţă în faţă cu Baal-Ţefon; să vă aşezaţi tabăra lângă mare, faţă în faţă cu Baal-Ţefon.

`Speak unto the sons of Israel, and they turn back and encamp before Pi-Hahiroth, between Migdol and the sea, before Baal-Zephon; over-against it ye do encamp by the sea,

3 F araon va zice despre israeliţi: «Rătăcesc fără ţintă prin ţară, îi înghite pustia.»

and Pharaoh hath said of the sons of Israel, They are entangled in the land, the wilderness hath shut upon them;

4 E u îi voi împietri inima lui Faraon şi el îi va urmări; însă Îmi voi aduce slavă de pe urma lui Faraon şi a întregii lui oştiri. Egiptenii vor recunoaşte astfel că Eu sunt Domnul. “ Şi ei au făcut întocmai.

and I have strengthened the heart of Pharaoh, and he hath pursued after them, and I am honoured on Pharaoh, and on all his force, and the Egyptians have known that I Jehovah;' and they do so.

5 C ând i s-a spus monarhului egiptean că poporul a fugit, Faraon şi slujitorii săi s-au răzgândit cu privire la israeliţi, zicând: „Cum de-am putut să-l lăsăm pe Israel să plece şi să nu ne mai slujească?“

And it is declared to the king of Egypt that the people hath fled, and the heart of Pharaoh and of his servants is turned against the people, and they say, `What this we have done? that we have sent Israel away from our service.'

6 F araon şi-a pregătit carul şi şi-a luat oştirea cu el;

And he harnesseth his chariot, and his people he hath taken with him,

7 a luat şase sute de care alese şi toate celelalte care ale Egiptului, fiecare cu propria lui căpetenie.

and he taketh six hundred chosen chariots, even all the chariots of Egypt, and captains over them all;

8 D omnul a împietrit inima lui Faraon, monarhul Egiptului, astfel că acesta a început să-i urmărească pe israeliţi; în acest timp, israeliţii îşi continuau drumul cu îndrăzneală.

and Jehovah strengtheneth the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he pursueth after the sons of Israel, and the sons of Israel are going out with a high hand,

9 E giptenii i-au urmărit cu toţi caii şi carele lui Faraon, cu călăreţii şi oştirea acestuia. I-au ajuns tocmai când aveau tabăra aşezată lângă mare, lângă Pi-Hahirot, faţă în faţă cu Baal-Ţefon.

and the Egyptians pursue after them, and all the chariot horses of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his force, overtake them, encamping by the sea, by Pi-Hahiroth, before Baal-Zephon.

10 Î n timp ce Faraon se apropia, israeliţii îi priveau pe egipteni mărşăluind înspre ei. Atunci s-au temut şi au început să strige către Domnul.

And Pharaoh hath drawn near, and the sons of Israel lift up their eyes, and lo, the Egyptians are journeying after them, and they fear exceedingly, and the sons of Israel cry unto Jehovah.

11 A poi i-au zis lui Moise: – Pentru că nu mai erau morminte în Egipt ne-ai adus să murim în pustie? Ce ne-ai făcut scoţându-ne din Egipt?

And they say unto Moses, `Because there are no graves in Egypt, hast thou taken us away to die in a wilderness? what is this thou hast done to us -- to bring us out from Egypt?

12 N u-ţi spuneam noi în Egipt să ne laşi să lucrăm pentru egipteni? Ar fi fost mult mai bine pentru noi să lucrăm pentru egipteni decât să murim în pustie.

Is not this the word which we spake unto thee in Egypt, saying, Cease from us, and we serve the Egyptians; for better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in a wilderness?'

13 D ar Moise i-a zis poporului: – Nu vă temeţi, staţi fermi şi veţi vedea eliberarea pe care Domnul v-o va da azi, pentru că pe egiptenii pe care îi vedeţi azi nu-i veţi mai vedea.

And Moses saith unto the people, `Fear not, station yourselves, and see the salvation of Jehovah, which He doth for you to-day; for, as ye have seen the Egyptians to-day, ye add no more to see them -- to the age;

14 D omnul se va lupta pentru voi; voi trebuie doar să tăceţi.

Jehovah doth fight for you, and ye keep silent.'

15 A poi Domnul i-a zis lui Moise: „De ce strigi către Mine? Spune poporului să meargă înainte.

And Jehovah saith unto Moses, `What? thou criest unto Me -- speak unto the sons of Israel, and they journey;

16 T u să-ţi ridici toiagul şi să-ţi întinzi mâna spre mare, iar ea se va despărţi şi israeliţii vor trece prin mijlocul mării ca pe uscat.

and thou, lift up thy rod, and stretch out thy hand towards the sea, and cleave it, and the sons of Israel go into the midst of the sea on dry land.

17 A poi voi împietri inimile egiptenilor şi aceştia vor merge după ei; astfel Îmi voi aduce slavă de pe urma lui Faraon, a întregii lui oştiri, a carelor şi a călăreţilor lui.

`And I -- lo, I am strengthening the heart of the Egyptians, and they go in after them, and I am honoured on Pharaoh, and on all his force, on his chariots, and on his horsemen;

18 E giptenii vor recunoaşte că Eu sunt Domnul, atunci când Îmi voi aduce slavă de pe urma lui Faraon, a carelor şi călăreţilor lui.“

and the Egyptians have known that I Jehovah, in My being honoured on Pharaoh, on his chariots, and on his horsemen.'

19 Î ngerul Domnului, Care mergea înaintea taberei lui Israel, Şi-a schimbat locul şi a început să meargă în spatele israeliţilor. Stâlpul de nor şi-a schimbat locul şi, din faţa lor, a început să meargă în spatele lor.

And the messenger of God, who is going before the camp of Israel, journeyeth and goeth at their rear; and the pillar of the cloud journeyeth from their front, and standeth at their rear,

20 E l s-a aşezat între tabăra egiptenilor şi tabăra lui Israel. Noaptea, norul era întunecos într­o parte şi luminos în cealaltă. Astfel, cele două tabere nu s-au apropiat una de cealaltă întreaga noapte.

and cometh in between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel, and the cloud and the darkness are, and he enlighteneth the night, and the one hath not drawn near unto the other all the night.

21 A poi Moise şi-a întins mâna spre mare. Domnul a pus marea în mişcare printr-un vânt puternic dinspre răsărit, care a despărţit apele şi a făcut din mare pământ uscat.

And Moses stretcheth out his hand towards the sea, and Jehovah causeth the sea to go on by a strong east wind all the night, and maketh the sea become dry ground, and the waters are cleaved,

22 I sraeliţii au trecut prin mijlocul mării ca pe pământ uscat, apele făcându-se zid la dreapta şi la stânga lor.

and the sons of Israel go into the midst of the sea, on dry land, and the waters to them a wall, on their right and on their left.

23 E giptenii i-au urmărit şi toţi caii lui Faraon, carele şi călăreţii lui au intrat după ei în mare.

And the Egyptians pursue, and go in after them (all the horses of Pharaoh, his chariots, and his horsemen) unto the midst of the sea,

24 S pre dimineaţă Domnul s-a uitat din stâlpul de foc şi din nor la oştirea egiptenilor şi a adus învălmăşeală în rândul acestora.

and it cometh to pass, in the morning watch, that Jehovah looketh unto the camp of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and of the cloud, and troubleth the camp of the Egyptians,

25 A făcut ca roţile de la carele lor să cadă, astfel că egiptenii au început să le mânuiască cu greutate. Ei au zis: „Să fugim dinaintea lui Israel căci Domnul se luptă pentru ei împotriva Egiptului!“

and turneth aside the wheels of their chariots, and they lead them with difficulty, and the Egyptians say, `Let us flee from the face of Israel, for Jehovah is fighting for them against the Egyptians.'

26 A poi Domnul i-a zis lui Moise: „Întinde-ţi mâna spre mare şi apele vor veni înapoi peste egipteni, peste carele şi peste călăreţii lor.“

And Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Stretch out thy hand toward the sea, and the waters turn back on the Egyptians, on their chariots, and on their horsemen.'

27 M oise şi-a întins mâna spre mare şi, înspre dimineaţă, marea a revenit la adâncimea ei deplină. În timp ce egiptenii fugeau din calea ei, Domnul i-a năpustit pe aceştia în mijlocul mării;

And Moses stretcheth out his hand towards the sea, and the sea turneth back, at the turning of the morning, to its perennial flow, and the Egyptians are fleeing at its coming, and Jehovah shaketh off the Egyptians in the midst of the sea,

28 a pele s-au întors şi au acoperit carele, călăreţii şi toată oştirea lui Faraon, care venise după israeliţi în mijlocul mării; nici unul n-a rămas în viaţă.

and the waters turn back, and cover the chariots and the horsemen, even all the force of Pharaoh, who are coming in after them into the sea -- there hath not been left of them even one.

29 Î nsă israeliţii au mers prin mijlocul mării ca pe uscat, apele făcându-se zid la dreapta şi la stânga lor.

And the sons of Israel have gone on dry land in the midst of the sea, and the waters to them a wall, on their right and on their left;

30 A şa l-a salvat Domnul pe Israel în ziua aceea de egipteni. Israeliţii i-au văzut pe egipteni zăcând morţi pe malul mării.

and Jehovah saveth Israel in that day out of the hand of the Egyptians, and Israel seeth the Egyptians dead on the sea-shore,

31 E i au văzut lucrarea măreaţă pe care Domnul a înfăptuit-o împotriva egiptenilor; poporul s-a temut de Domnul şi a crezut în Domnul şi în robul Său Moise.

and Israel seeth the great hand with which Jehovah hath wrought against the Egyptians, and the people fear Jehovah, and remain stedfast in Jehovah, and in Moses His servant.
