1 D omnul i-a răspuns lui Moise: – Vei vedea acum ce-i voi face lui Faraon. O mână puternică îl va sili să-i lase să plece. Datorită unei mâini puternice, el îi va izgoni din ţara lui.

And Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Now dost thou see that which I do to Pharaoh, for with a strong hand he doth send them away, yea, with a strong hand he doth cast them out of his land.'

2 D umnezeu i-a mai zis lui Moise: – Eu sunt Domnul.

And God speaketh unto Moses, and saith unto him, `I Jehovah,

3 E u M-am descoperit lui Avraam, lui Isaac şi lui Iacov ca Dumnezeul Atotputernic, dar cu Numele de „ Domnul “ nu M-am făcut cunoscut lor.

and I appear unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, as God Almighty; as to My name Jehovah, I have not been known to them;

4 A m făcut legământ cu ei ca să le dau Canaanul, ţara în care au locuit ca străini;

and also I have established My covenant with them, to give to them the land of Canaan, the land of their sojournings, wherein they have sojourned;

5 t ot Eu am auzit geamătul israeliţilor pe care egiptenii îi ţin ca sclavi şi Mi-am adus aminte de acest legământ.

and also I have heard the groaning of the sons of Israel, whom the Egyptians are causing to serve, and I remember My covenant.

6 D e aceea aşa să le spui israeliţilor: „Eu sunt Domnul şi vă voi scoate de sub jugul egiptenilor; vă voi elibera din sclavia în care ei vă ţin. Vă voi răscumpăra cu o mână întinsă şi cu faptele măreţe ale judecăţii Mele.

`Therefore say to the sons of Israel, I Jehovah, and I have brought you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and have delivered you from their service, and have redeemed you by a stretched-out arm, and by great judgments,

7 V ă voi lua ca popor al Meu şi Eu voi fi Dumnezeul vostru. Veţi şti că Eu sunt Domnul, Dumnezeul vostru, Care v-a eliberat de sub jugul egiptenilor.

and have taken you to Me for a people, and I have been to you for God, and ye have known that I Jehovah your God, who is bringing you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians;

8 V ă voi duce în ţara pe care am jurat că o voi da lui Avraam, lui Isaac şi lui Iacov şi am să v-o dau vouă ca moştenire. Eu sunt Domnul. “

and I have brought you in unto the land which I have lifted up My hand to give it to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, and have given it to you -- a possession; I Jehovah.'

9 M oise le-a spus aceste cuvinte israeliţilor, dar ei nu le-au luat în seamă din cauza deznădejdii şi a sclaviei cumplite în care se aflau.

And Moses speaketh so unto the sons of Israel, and they hearkened not unto Moses, for anguish of spirit, and for harsh service.

10 D upă aceea, Domnul i-a zis lui Moise:

And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,

11 – Du-te şi spune-i lui Faraon, monarhul Egiptului, să-i lase pe israeliţi să plece din ţara sa.

`Go in, speak unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he doth send the sons of Israel out of his land;

12 D ar Moise I-a răspuns Domnului: – Dacă israeliţii nu m-au luat în seamă, cum mă va asculta atunci Faraon pe mine, un vorbitor atât de slab ?

and Moses speaketh before Jehovah, saying, `Lo, the sons of Israel have not hearkened unto me, and how doth Pharaoh hear me, and I of uncircumcised lips?'

13 D omnul le-a vorbit lui Moise şi Aaron şi le-a dat porunci cu privire la israeliţi şi la monarhul Egiptului, pentru a-i putea scoate pe israeliţi din Egipt. Genealogia lui Moise şi a lui Aaron

And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, and unto Aaron, and chargeth them for the sons of Israel, and for Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring out the sons of Israel from the land of Egypt.

14 I ată-i pe cei care au fost conducătorii familiilor părinţilor lor: Fiii lui Ruben, întâiul născut al lui Israel, au fost: Hanoh, Palu, Heţron şi Carmi; acestea au fost clanurile lui Ruben.

These heads of the house of their fathers: Sons of Reuben first-born of Israel Hanoch, and Phallu, Hezron, and Carmi: these families of Reuben.

15 F iii lui Simeon au fost: Iemuel, Iamin, Ohad, Iachin, Ţohar şi Saul, fiul unei canaanite; acestea au fost clanurile lui Simeon.

And sons of Simeon Jemuel, and Jamin, and Ohad, and Jachin, and Zohar, and Shaul, son of the Canaanitess: these families of Simeon.

16 F iii lui Levi, potrivit genealogiilor lor, au fost: Gherşon, Chehat şi Merari. Durata vieţii lui Levi a fost de o sută treizeci şi şapte de ani.

And these the names of the sons of Levi, as to their births: Gershon, and Kohath, and Merari: and the years of the life of Levi a hundred and thirty and seven years.

17 F iii lui Gherşon au fost: Libni şi Şimei, potrivit clanurilor lor.

The sons of Gershon Libni, and Shimi, as to their families.

18 F iii lui Chehat au fost: Amram, Iţhar, Hebron şi Uziel. Durata vieţii lui Chehat a fost de o sută treizeci şi trei de ani.

And the sons of Kohath Amram, and Izhar, and Hebron, and Uzziel: and the years of the life of Kohath a hundred and thirty and three years.

19 F iii lui Merari au fost: Mahli şi Muşi. Acestea au fost clanurile lui Levi, potrivit genealogiilor lor.

And the sons of Merari Mahli and Mushi: these families of Levi, as to their births.

20 A mram a luat-o de soţie pe Iochebed, sora tatălui său. Ea i-a născut lui Amram pe Aaron şi pe Moise. Durata vieţii lui Amram a fost de o sută treizeci şi şapte de ani.

And Amram taketh Jochebed his aunt to himself for a wife, and she beareth to him Aaron and Moses: and the years of the life of Amram a hundred and thirty and seven years.

21 F iii lui Iţhar au fost: Korah, Nefeg şi Zicri,

And sons of Izhar Korah, and Nepheg, and Zichri.

22 i ar fiii lui Uziel: Mişael, Elţafan şi Sitri.

And sons of Uzziel Mishael, and Elzaphan, and Sithri.

23 A aron a luat-o de soţie pe Elişeba, fiica lui Aminadab, sora lui Nahşon. Ea i-a născut lui Aaron pe Nadab, pe Abihu, pe Elazar şi pe Itamar.

And Aaron taketh Elisheba daughter of Amminadab, sister of Naashon, to himself for a wife, and she beareth to him Nadab, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.

24 F iii lui Korah au fost: Asir, Elkana şi Abiasaf. Acestea au fost clanurile korahiţilor.

And sons of Korah Assir, and Elkanah, and Abiasaph: these families of the Korhite.

25 E lazar, fiul lui Aaron, a luat-o de soţie pe una dintre fiicele lui Putiel. Ea i l-a născut pe Fineas. Aceştia au fost conducătorii familiilor leviţilor, potrivit clanurilor lor.

And Eleazar, Aaron's son, hath taken to him of the daughters of Putiel for a wife to himself, and she beareth to him Phinehas: these heads of the fathers of the Levites, as to their families.

26 I ar aceşti Aaron şi Moise sunt cei cărora Domnul le-a zis să-i scoată pe israeliţi din ţara Egiptului, după oştirile lor.

This Aaron -- and Moses -- to whom Jehovah said, `Bring ye out the sons of Israel from the land of Egypt, by their hosts;'

27 E i sunt cei care i-au zis lui Faraon, monarhul Egiptului, să-i lase pe israeliţi să plece din Egipt – aceşti Moise şi Aaron. Aaron vorbeşte pentru Moise

these are they who are speaking unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring out the sons of Israel from Egypt, this Moses -- and Aaron.

28 Î n ziua când Domnul i-a vorbit lui Moise în ţara Egiptului,

And it cometh to pass in the day of Jehovah's speaking unto Moses in the land of Egypt,

29 E l i-a zis: – Eu sunt Domnul; spune-i lui Faraon, monarhul Egiptului, tot ce ţi-am poruncit.

that Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying, `I Jehovah, speak unto Pharaoh king of Egypt all that I am speaking unto thee.'

30 Î nsă Moise i-a răspuns Domnului: – Dar eu sunt un vorbitor slab, de ce m-ar asculta Faraon?

And Moses saith before Jehovah, `Lo, I of uncircumcised lips, and how doth Pharaoh hearken unto me?'
