1 D umnezeule, să nu păstrezi tăcerea! Să nu taci şi să nu rămâi mut, Dumnezeule!

A Song, -- A Psalm of Asaph. O God, let there be no silence to Thee, Be not silent, nor be quiet, O God.

2 I ată că duşmanii Tăi vociferează şi cei ce Te urăsc îşi ridică fruntea.

For, lo, Thine enemies do roar, And those hating Thee have lifted up the head,

3 U neltesc împotriva poporului Tău, fac planuri împotriva celor ocrotiţi de Tine.

Against Thy people they take crafty counsel, And consult against Thy hidden ones.

4 E i spun astfel: „Haidem să-i nimicim ca neam şi să nu mai fie amintit numele lui Israel!“

They have said, `Come, And we cut them off from a nation, And the name of Israel is not remembered any more.'

5 I ată-i pe cei care au hotărât într-un gând să încheie un legământ împotriva Ta:

For they consulted in heart together, Against Thee a covenant they make,

6 c orturile Edomului şi ismaeliţii, Moabul şi hagareniţii,

Tents of Edom, and Ishmaelites, Moab, and the Hagarenes,

7 G hebal, Amon şi Amalek, Filistia şi locuitorii Tirului;

Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek, Philistia with inhabitants of Tyre,

8 d e asemenea, li s-a alăturat şi Asiria, punându-şi braţul alături de cel al fiilor lui Lot. Sela

Asshur also is joined with them, They have been an arm to sons of Lot. Selah.

9 F ă-le ca lui Midian, ca lui Sisera şi lui Iabin la uedul Chişon,

Do to them as Midian, As Sisera, as Jabin, at the stream Kishon.

10 c are au fost nimiciţi la En-Dor, ajungând bălegar pentru pământ!

They were destroyed at Endor, They were dung for the ground!

11 N obililor lor fă-le ca lui Oreb şi lui Zeeb, iar tuturor prinţilor lor fă-le ca lui Zebah şi lui Ţalmuna,

Make their nobles as Oreb and as Zeeb, And as Zebah and Zalmunna all their princes,

12 c ăci ei zic: „Să punem mâna pe păşunile lui Dumnezeu!“

Who have said, `Let us occupy for ourselves The comely places of God.'

13 D umnezeul meu, fă-i un vârtej de praf, o pleavă luată de vânt,

O my God, make them as a rolling thing, As stubble before wind.

14 u n foc ce mistuie pădurea, o flacără ce aprinde munţii!

As a fire doth burn a forest, And as a flame setteth hills on fire,

15 A şa urmăreşte-i cu furtuna Ta şi îngrozeşte-i cu vijelia Ta!

So dost Thou pursue them with Thy whirlwind, And with Thy hurricane troublest them.

16 U mple-le faţa de ruşine, ca să ajungă să caute Numele Tău, Doamne!

Fill their faces shame, And they seek Thy name, O Jehovah.

17 S ă fie făcuţi de ruşine şi îngroziţi în veci de veci! Să fie daţi de ruşine şi să piară!

They are ashamed and troubled for ever, Yea, they are confounded and lost.

18 Ş i să ştie astfel că Tu, al Cărui Nume este Domnul, Tu şi numai Tu eşti Cel Preaînalt peste întreg pământul!

And they know that Thou -- (Thy name Jehovah -- by Thyself,) the Most High over all the earth!
