1 A poi Domnul i-a zis lui Moise: „Du-te la Faraon şi spune-i: «Aşa vorbeşte Domnul, Dumnezeul evreilor: ‘Lasă-Mi poporul să plece ca să Mi se închine.

And Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Go in unto Pharaoh, and thou hast spoken unto him, Thus said Jehovah, God of the Hebrews, Send My people away, and they serve me,

2 D acă nu-l vei lăsa să plece şi-l vei opri din nou,

for, if thou art refusing to send away, and art still keeping hold upon them,

3 m âna Domnului va lovi cu molimă grea vitele de pe câmp: caii, măgarii, cămilele, cirezile şi turmele.

lo, the hand of Jehovah is on thy cattle which in the field, on horses, on asses, on camels, on herd, and on flock -- a pestilence very grievous.

4 D ar Domnul va face deosebire între vitele lui Israel şi vitele Egiptului pentru ca nimic să nu moară din ce este al israeliţilor.’

`And Jehovah hath separated between the cattle of Israel and the cattle of Egypt, and there doth not die a thing of all the sons of Israel's;

5 D omnul a hotărât o vreme, zicând că mâine va face acest lucru în ţară.»“

and Jehovah setteth an appointed time, saying, To-morrow doth Jehovah do this thing in the land.'

6 Î n ziua următoare, Domnul a făcut întocmai: toate vitele egiptenilor au murit, dar din vitele israeliţilor n-a murit nici una.

And Jehovah doth this thing on the morrow, and all the cattle of Egypt die, and of the cattle of the sons of Israel not one hath died;

7 F araon a trimis pe cineva şi a aflat că nici una din vitele israeliţilor n-a murit. Inima lui Faraon însă a rămas împietrită şi tot nu a lăsat poporul să plece. A şasea urgie: bube peste egipteni

and Pharaoh sendeth, and lo, not even one of the cattle of Israel hath died, and the heart of Pharaoh is hard, and he hath not sent the people away.

8 D omnul le-a zis din nou lui Moise şi lui Aaron: „Umpleţi-vă mâinile cu cenuşă din cuptor şi Moise să o arunce în aer înaintea lui Faraon.

And Jehovah saith unto Moses and unto Aaron, `Take to you the fulness of your hands soot of a furnace, and Moses hath sprinkled it towards the heavens, before the eyes of Pharaoh,

9 E a se va transforma într-un praf fin peste toată ţara Egiptului şi va cauza bube cu puroi pe oameni şi pe animale în toată ţara Egiptului.“

and it hath become small dust over all the land of Egypt, and it hath become on man and on cattle a boil breaking forth blains, in all the land of Egypt.'

10 E i au luat cenuşă din cuptor şi s-au înfăţişat înaintea lui Faraon. Moise a aruncat-o înspre cer şi ea a dat naştere la bube cu puroi pe oameni şi pe animale.

And they take the soot of the furnace, and stand before Pharaoh, and Moses sprinkleth it towards the heavens, and it is a boil blains, breaking forth, on man and on beast;

11 V răjitorii n-au putut sta înaintea lui Moise din cauza bubelor, pentru că bubele erau şi pe vrăjitori, ca pe toţi egiptenii.

and the scribes have not been able to stand before Moses, because of the boil, for the boil hath been on the scribes, and on all the Egyptians.

12 D ar Domnul i-a împietrit inima lui Faraon şi acesta nu i-a ascultat, după cum îi spusese Domnul lui Moise. A şaptea urgie: grindina

And Jehovah strengtheneth the heart of Pharaoh, and he hath not hearkened unto them, as Jehovah hath spoken unto Moses.

13 D upă aceea, Domnul i-a zis lui Moise: „Scoală-te dis-de-dimineaţă, du-te înaintea lui Faraon şi spune-i: «Aşa vorbeşte Domnul, Dumnezeul evreilor: ‘Lasă-Mi poporul să plece ca să Mi se închine,

And Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Rise early in the morning, and station thyself before Pharaoh, and thou hast said unto him, Thus said Jehovah, God of the Hebrews, Send My people away, and they serve Me,

14 p entru că de data aceasta Îmi voi trimite toate urgiile împotriva ta, împotriva slujitorilor tăi şi împotriva poporului tău, ca să ştii că nu este nimeni ca Mine pe întreg pământul.

for, at this time I am sending all My plagues unto thy heart, and on thy servants, and on thy people, so that thou knowest that there is none like Me in all the earth,

15 C ăci, dacă Mi-aş fi întins mâna şi te-aş fi lovit pe tine şi pe poporul tău cu molimă, ai fi pierit de pe pământ.

for now I have put forth My hand, and I smite thee, and thy people, with pestilence, and thou art hidden from the earth.

16 D ar te-am ridicat ca să-ţi arăt puterea Mea şi astfel Numele Meu să fie vestit pe întreg pământul.

`And yet for this I have caused thee to stand, so as to show thee My power, and for the sake of declaring My Name in all the earth;

17 Î ncă mai continui să te ridici împotriva poporului Meu ca să nu-l laşi să plece?

still thou art exalting thyself against My people -- so as not to send them away;

18 E i bine, mâine, pe vremea aceasta, voi face să cadă cea mai grea grindină din câte au căzut vreodată în Egipt, de când a fost întemeiat până acum.

lo, I am raining about time to-morrow hail very grievous, such as hath not been in Egypt, even from the day of its being founded, even until now.

19 D e aceea trimite oamenii ca să adăpostească, la loc sigur, vitele şi tot ce ai pe câmp; orice om şi orice animal care va fi pe câmp şi nu la adăpost va muri atunci când grindina va cădea peste el.’»“

`And, now, send, strengthen thy cattle and all that thou hast in the field; every man and beast which is found in the field, and is not gathered into the house -- come down on them hath the hail, and they have died.'

20 A ceia dintre slujitorii lui Faraon care s-au temut de Cuvântul Domnului şi-au adăpostit sclavii şi vitele în case,

He who is fearing the word of Jehovah among the servants of Pharaoh hath caused his servants and his cattle to flee unto the houses;

21 d ar cei care n-au luat în seamă Cuvântul Domnului şi-au lăsat sclavii şi vitele pe câmp.

and he who hath not set his heart unto the word of Jehovah leaveth his servants and his cattle in the field.

22 D omnul i-a zis lui Moise: „Întinde-ţi mâna spre cer ca să cadă grindină peste toată ţara Egiptului: peste oameni, peste animale şi peste plantele câmpului din ţara Egiptului.“

And Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Stretch forth thy hand towards the heavens, and there is hail in all the land of Egypt, on man, and on beast, and on every herb of the field in the land of Egypt.'

23 C ând Moise şi-a întins toiagul spre cer, Domnul a trimis o furtună cu grindină şi trăsnete care au căzut pe pământ. Domnul a făcut să cadă grindină peste ţara Egiptului:

And Moses stretcheth out his rod towards the heavens, and Jehovah hath given voices and hail, and fire goeth towards the earth, and Jehovah raineth hail on the land of Egypt,

24 e ra grindină amestecată cu trăsnete, o grindină atât de grea, cum n-a mai căzut niciodată în ţara Egiptului, de când aceasta a fost întemeiată ca neam.

and there is hail, and fire catching itself in the midst of the hail, very grievous, such as hath not been in all the land of Egypt since it hath become a nation.

25 G rindina a doborât la pământ tot ce era pe câmp în toată ţara Egiptului, atât oameni, cât şi animale; grindina a doborât la pământ toate plantele câmpului şi a frânt orice copac de pe câmp.

And the hail smiteth in all the land of Egypt all that in the field, from man even unto beast, and every herb of the field hath the hail smitten, and every tree of the field it hath broken;

26 S ingurul loc în care n-a căzut grindină a fost ţinutul Goşen, unde locuiau israeliţii.

only in the land of Goshen, where the sons of Israel, there hath been no hail.

27 F araon şi-a trimis slujitorii să-i cheme pe Moise şi pe Aaron şi le-a zis: – De data aceasta am păcătuit; Domnul este drept, eu şi poporul meu suntem răi.

And Pharaoh sendeth, and calleth for Moses and for Aaron, and saith unto them, `I have sinned this time, Jehovah the Righteous, and I and my people the Wicked,

28 R ugaţi-vă Domnului, căci ne este de ajuns trăsnetul şi grindina lui Dumnezeu! Vă las să plecaţi; nu mai trebuie să staţi.

make ye supplication unto Jehovah, and plead that there be no voices of God and hail, and I send you away, and ye add not to remain.'

29 M oise i-a răspuns: – Cum voi ieşi din cetate, îmi voi ridica mâinile spre Domnul; trăsnetul nu va mai lovi şi nu va mai cădea grindină, ca să recunoşti că pământul este al Domnului.

And Moses saith unto him, `At my going out of the city, I spread my palms unto Jehovah -- the voices cease, and the hail is not any more, so that thou knowest that the earth Jehovah's;

30 C ât despre tine şi slujitorii tăi, ştiu că încă nu vă temeţi de Domnul Dumnezeu.

but thou and thy servants -- I have known that ye are not yet afraid of the face of Jehovah God.'

31 P lantaţiile de in şi de orz au fost distruse, pentru că orzul dăduse în spic şi inul înflorise,

And the flax and the barley have been smitten, for the barley budding, and the flax forming flowers,

32 î nsă cele de grâu şi secară albă n-au păţit nimic, pentru că erau sădite târziu.

and the wheat and the rye have not been smitten, for they are late.

33 M oise l-a lăsat pe Faraon, a ieşit din cetate şi şi-a ridicat mâinile spre Domnul; atunci trăsnetul şi grindina au încetat şi n-a mai plouat pe pământ.

And Moses goeth out from Pharaoh, the city, and spreadeth his hands unto Jehovah, and the voices and the hail cease, and rain hath not been poured out to the earth;

34 C ând Faraon a văzut că ploaia, grindina şi trăsnetul au încetat, a păcătuit din nou şi şi-a împietrit inima atât el, cât şi slujitorii săi.

and Pharaoh seeth that the rain hath ceased, and the hail and the voices, and he continueth to sin, and hardeneth his heart, he and his servants;

35 I nima lui Faraon s-a împietrit şi nu i-a lăsat pe israeliţi să plece, după cum îi spusese Domnul lui Moise.

and the heart of Pharaoh is strong, and he hath not sent the sons of Israel away, as Jehovah hath spoken by the hand of Moses.
