1 D omnul i-a zis lui Moise: „Spune-le preoţilor, fiii lui Aaron, următoarele: «Nici un preot să nu se pângărească atingându-se de un mort din poporul său,

And Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Speak unto the priests, sons of Aaron, and thou hast said unto them, For person is not defiled among his people,

2 d ecât dacă este vorba de rudele lui cele mai apropiate: mama, tatăl, fiul, fiica, fratele

except for his relation who near unto him -- for his mother, and for his father, and for his son, and for his daughter, and for his brother.

3 ş i sora lui, care, fecioară fiind, încă mai locuieşte în casa părintească şi n-a avut soţ; pentru ea se poate pângări,

and for his sister, the virgin, who is near unto him, who hath not been to a man; for her he is defiled.

4 d ar ca fruntaş în poporul său să nu se pângărească.

`A master doth not defile himself among his people -- to pollute himself;

5 P reoţii să nu se radă pe cap, să nu-şi taie perciunii şi să nu-şi facă tăieturi în piele.

they do not make baldness on their head, and the corner of their beard they do not shave, and in their flesh they do not make a cutting;

6 S ă fie sfinţi pentru Dumnezeul lor şi să nu profaneze Numele Dumnezeului lor, căci ei aduc Domnului jertfele mistuite de foc, mâncarea Dumnezeului lor; de aceea să fie sfinţi.

they are holy to their God, and they pollute not the name of their God, for the fire-offerings of Jehovah, bread of their God, they are bringing near, and have been holy.

7 S ă nu ia în căsătorie o prostituată sau o femeie care s-a pângărit, nici o femeie divorţată de soţul ei, căci ei sunt sfinţi pentru Dumnezeul lor.

`A woman, a harlot, or polluted, they do not take, and a woman cast out from her husband they do not take, for he holy to his God;

8 P rin urmare, să-i priveşti ca sfinţi, pentru că ei aduc mâncarea Dumnezeului vostru; preotul să fie considerat sfânt de către tine, căci Eu sunt sfânt, Eu, Domnul, Care vă sfinţesc.

and thou hast sanctified him, for the bread of thy God he is bringing near; he is holy to thee; for holy I, Jehovah, sanctifying you.

9 D acă fiica unui preot se pângăreşte prostituându-se, ea îşi necinsteşte tatăl; să fie arsă în foc.

`And a daughter of any priest when she polluteth herself by going a-whoring -- her father she is polluting; with fire she is burnt.

10 C el care a fost ales mare preot dintre fraţii săi, adică acela pe capul căruia a fost turnat untdelemnul pentru ungere, care a fost pus deoparte ca să poarte veşmintele, să nu-şi descopere capul şi să nu-şi sfâşie veşmintele în nici o împrejurare.

`And the high priest of his brethren, on whose head is poured the anointing oil, and hath consecrated his hand to put on the garments, his head doth not uncover, nor rend his garments,

11 S ă nu se apropie de nici un mort; să nu se pângărească nici chiar pentru tatăl său sau mama sa.

nor beside any dead person doth he come; for his father and for his mother he doth not defile himself;

12 S ă nu iasă din Lăcaş şi să nu profaneze Lăcaşul Dumnezeului său, căci el a fost învestit în vederea slujirii prin untdelemnul pentru ungere, care este peste el, untdelemnul Dumnezeului său. Eu sunt Domnul.

nor from the sanctuary doth he go out, nor doth he pollute the sanctuary of his God, for the separation of the anointing oil of his God on him; I Jehovah.

13 S ă se căsătorească doar cu o fecioară.

`And he taketh a wife in her virginity;

14 S ă nu se căsătorească cu o văduvă sau cu o femeie divorţată, nici cu o femeie care s-a pângărit sau cu o prostituată. Femeia pe care o va lua de soţie din poporul său, va trebui să fie fecioară,

widow, or cast out, or polluted one -- a harlot -- these he doth not take, but a virgin of his own people he doth take a wife,

15 c a astfel să nu-şi facă de ruşine urmaşii în poporul său; căci Eu sunt Domnul Care-l sfinţesc.»“

and he doth not pollute his seed among his people; for I Jehovah, sanctifying him.'

16 D omnul i-a zis din nou lui Moise:

And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,

17 „ Spune-i lui Aaron: «Nici un bărbat dintre urmaşii tăi din generaţiile viitoare care va avea o meteahnă să nu se apropie să aducă mâncarea Dumnezeului său.

`Speak unto Aaron, saying, No man of thy seed to their generations in whom there is blemish doth draw near to bring near the bread of his God,

18 N ici unul care va avea vreo meteahnă să nu se apropie, nici unul care va fi orb, şchiop, care va avea faţa mutilată sau un mădular mai lung,

for no man in whom blemish doth draw near -- a man blind, or lame or dwarfed, or enlarged,

19 n ici unul care va avea piciorul rupt sau mâna ruptă,

or a man in whom there is a breach in the foot, or a breach in the hand,

20 c are va fi cocoşat sau pitic, care va avea un defect la ochi, care va avea râie sau răni pe piele sau ale cărui boaşe nu vor fi întregi.

or hump-backed, or a dwarf, or with a mixture in his eye, or a scurvy person, or scabbed, or broken-testicled.

21 N ici unul dintre urmaşii preotului Aaron, care va avea vreo meteahnă nu va putea să se apropie ca să aducă Domnului jertfe mistuite de foc; cine are o meteahnă nu se poate apropia ca să aducă mâncarea Dumnezeului său.

`No man in whom is blemish (of the seed of Aaron the priest) doth come nigh to bring near the fire-offerings of Jehovah; blemish in him; the bread of his God he doth not come nigh to bring near.

22 E l va putea totuşi mânca din pâinea Dumnezeului său, atât din cea preasfântă, cât şi din cea sfântă.

`Bread of his God -- of the most holy things, and of the holy things -- he doth eat;

23 Î nsă nu va avea voie să se apropie de draperia despărţitoare sau de altar, fiindcă are o meteahnă; să nu-Mi profaneze locurile Mele sfinte, pentru că Eu sunt Domnul Care le sfinţesc.»“

only, unto the vail he doth not enter, and unto the altar he doth not draw nigh; for blemish in him; and he doth not pollute My sanctuaries; for I Jehovah, sanctifying them.'

24 A stfel, Moise a spus toate aceste cuvinte lui Aaron, fiilor acestuia şi tuturor israeliţilor.

And Moses speaketh unto Aaron, and unto his sons, and unto all the sons of Israel.
