1 J ehová dijo a Moisés: «Habla a los sacerdotes, hijos de Aarón, y diles que no se contaminen por un muerto en sus pueblos,

And Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Speak unto the priests, sons of Aaron, and thou hast said unto them, For person is not defiled among his people,

2 a no ser por un pariente cercano, por su madre o por su padre, o por su hijo o por su hermano,

except for his relation who near unto him -- for his mother, and for his father, and for his son, and for his daughter, and for his brother.

3 o por su hermana virgen, a él cercana, la cual no haya tenido marido; por ella puede contaminarse.

and for his sister, the virgin, who is near unto him, who hath not been to a man; for her he is defiled.

4 N o se contaminará como cualquier hombre de su pueblo, haciéndose impuro.

`A master doth not defile himself among his people -- to pollute himself;

5 » No harán tonsura en su cabeza, ni raerán la punta de su barba, ni en su carne harán incisiones.

they do not make baldness on their head, and the corner of their beard they do not shave, and in their flesh they do not make a cutting;

6 S antos serán para su Dios, y no profanarán el nombre de su Dios, porque ofrecen las ofrendas quemadas para Jehová y el pan de su Dios; por tanto, serán santos.

they are holy to their God, and they pollute not the name of their God, for the fire-offerings of Jehovah, bread of their God, they are bringing near, and have been holy.

7 » Con una mujer ramera o infame no se casarán, ni con una mujer repudiada por su marido, porque el sacerdote está consagrado a su Dios.

`A woman, a harlot, or polluted, they do not take, and a woman cast out from her husband they do not take, for he holy to his God;

8 P or tanto, lo santificarás, pues el pan de tu Dios ofrece; santo será para ti, porque santo soy yo, Jehová, el que os santifico.

and thou hast sanctified him, for the bread of thy God he is bringing near; he is holy to thee; for holy I, Jehovah, sanctifying you.

9 » La hija del sacerdote, si comienza a prostituirse, a su padre deshonra; quemada será al fuego.

`And a daughter of any priest when she polluteth herself by going a-whoring -- her father she is polluting; with fire she is burnt.

10 » El sumo sacerdote entre sus hermanos, sobre cuya cabeza fue derramado el aceite de la unción, y que fue consagrado para llevar las vestiduras, no descubrirá su cabeza ni rasgará sus vestidos

`And the high priest of his brethren, on whose head is poured the anointing oil, and hath consecrated his hand to put on the garments, his head doth not uncover, nor rend his garments,

11 n i entrará donde haya alguna persona muerta; ni por su padre ni por su madre se contaminará.

nor beside any dead person doth he come; for his father and for his mother he doth not defile himself;

12 N o saldrá del santuario ni profanará el santuario de su Dios, porque tiene sobre él la consagración del aceite de la unción de su Dios. Yo, Jehová.

nor from the sanctuary doth he go out, nor doth he pollute the sanctuary of his God, for the separation of the anointing oil of his God on him; I Jehovah.

13 » Tomará por esposa a una mujer virgen.

`And he taketh a wife in her virginity;

14 N o tomará viuda, ni repudiada, ni infame ni ramera, sino que tomará de su pueblo una virgen por mujer,

widow, or cast out, or polluted one -- a harlot -- these he doth not take, but a virgin of his own people he doth take a wife,

15 p ara que no profane su descendencia entre su pueblo, porque yo, Jehová, soy el que los santifico.»

and he doth not pollute his seed among his people; for I Jehovah, sanctifying him.'

16 J ehová habló a Moisés y le dijo:

And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying,

17 « Habla a Aarón y dile: Ninguno de tus descendientes que tenga algún defecto se acercará, a lo largo de las generaciones, para ofrecer el pan de su Dios.

`Speak unto Aaron, saying, No man of thy seed to their generations in whom there is blemish doth draw near to bring near the bread of his God,

18 N ingún hombre en el cual haya defecto se acercará: sea ciego o cojo, mutilado o deforme;

for no man in whom blemish doth draw near -- a man blind, or lame or dwarfed, or enlarged,

19 q ue tenga quebradura de pie o rotura de mano,

or a man in whom there is a breach in the foot, or a breach in the hand,

20 q ue sea jorobado o enano, o tenga una nube en el ojo, o sarna o erupción o testículo magullado.

or hump-backed, or a dwarf, or with a mixture in his eye, or a scurvy person, or scabbed, or broken-testicled.

21 N ingún hombre de la descendencia del sacerdote Aarón, en el cual haya defecto, se acercará para ofrecer las ofrendas quemadas para Jehová. Hay defecto en él; no se acercará a ofrecer el pan de su Dios.

`No man in whom is blemish (of the seed of Aaron the priest) doth come nigh to bring near the fire-offerings of Jehovah; blemish in him; the bread of his God he doth not come nigh to bring near.

22 D el pan de su Dios, de lo muy santo y de las cosas santificadas podrá comer.

`Bread of his God -- of the most holy things, and of the holy things -- he doth eat;

23 P ero no se acercará tras el velo, ni se acercará al altar, por cuanto hay defecto en él; para que no profane mi santuario, porque yo, Jehová, soy el que los santifico.»

only, unto the vail he doth not enter, and unto the altar he doth not draw nigh; for blemish in him; and he doth not pollute My sanctuaries; for I Jehovah, sanctifying them.'

24 A sí habló Moisés a Aarón y a sus hijos, y a todos los hijos de Israel.

And Moses speaketh unto Aaron, and unto his sons, and unto all the sons of Israel.
