1 C uando Salomón acabó la obra de la casa de Jehová, la casa real y todo lo que quiso hacer,

And it cometh to pass, at Solomon's finishing to build the house of Jehovah, and the house of the king, and all the desire of Solomon that he delighted to do,

2 J ehová se le apareció a Salomón por segunda vez, como se le había aparecido en Gabaón,

that Jehovah appeareth unto Solomon a second time, as He appeared unto him in Gibeon,

3 y le dijo: «He oído tu oración y el ruego que has hecho en mi presencia. He santificado esta casa que tú has edificado, para poner mi nombre en ella para siempre; en ella estarán mis ojos y mi corazón todos los días.

and Jehovah saith unto him, `I have heard thy prayer and thy supplication with which thou hast made supplication before Me; I have hallowed this house that thou hast built to put My name there -- unto the age, and Mine eyes and My heart have been there all the days.

4 Y si tú andas delante de mí como anduvo David, tu padre, en integridad de corazón y en equidad, haciendo todas las cosas que yo te he mandado y guardando mis estatutos y mis decretos,

`And thou -- if thou dost walk before Me as David thy father walked, in simplicity of heart, and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded thee -- My statutes and My judgments thou dost keep --

5 y o afirmaré el trono de tu reino sobre Israel para siempre, como le prometí a tu padre David, cuando dije: “Nunca faltará un descendiente tuyo en el trono de Israel.”

then I have established the throne of thy kingdom over Israel -- to the age, as I spake unto David thy father, saying, There is not cut off to thee a man from on the throne of Israel.

6 P ero si obstinadamente os apartáis de mí vosotros y vuestros hijos y no guardáis los mandamientos y estatutos que yo he puesto delante de vosotros, sino que vais y servís a dioses ajenos, y los adoráis,

`If ye at all turn back -- you and your sons -- from after Me, and keep not My commands -- My statutes, that I have set before you, and ye have gone and served other gods, and bowed yourselves to them,

7 y o eliminaré a Israel de sobre la faz de la tierra que les he entregado. Y esta casa que he santificado a mi nombre, la echaré de delante de mí, e Israel será motivo de burla y escarnio entre todos los pueblos.

then I have cut off Israel from the face of the ground that I have given to them, and the house that I have hallowed for My name I send away from My presence, and Israel hath been for a simile and for a byword among all the peoples;

8 C ualquiera que pase por esta casa, antes sublime, se asombrará y se burlará. Y se preguntará: “¿Por qué ha hecho así Jehová a esta tierra y a esta casa?”

as to this house, is high, every one passing by it is astonished, and hath hissed, and they have said, Wherefore hath Jehovah done thus to this land and to this house?

9 Y le dirán: “Por cuanto abandonaron a Jehová, su Dios, que había sacado a sus padres de la tierra de Egipto, y echaron mano a dioses ajenos, los adoraron y los sirvieron; por eso ha traído Jehová sobre ellos todo este mal.”» Actividades diversas de Salomón

and they have said, Because that they have forsaken Jehovah their God, who brought out their fathers from the land of Egypt, and they lay hold on other gods, and bow themselves to them, and serve them; therefore hath Jehovah brought in upon them all this evil.'

10 A conteció al cabo de veinte años, cuando Salomón ya había edificado las dos casas, la casa de Jehová y la casa real,

And it cometh to pass, at the end of twenty years, that Solomon hath built the two houses, the house of Jehovah, and the house of the king.

11 p ara las cuales Hiram, rey de Tiro, le había traído madera de cedro y de ciprés y cuanto oro quiso, que el rey Salomón dio a Hiram veinte ciudades en tierra de Galilea.

Hiram king of Tyre hath assisted Solomon with cedar-trees, and with fir-trees, and with gold, according to all his desire; then doth king Solomon give to Hiram twenty cities in the land of Galilee.

12 H iram salió de Tiro para ver las ciudades que Salomón le había dado, y no le gustaron.

And Hiram cometh out from Tyre to see the cities that Solomon hath given to him, and they have not been right in his eyes,

13 E ntonces dijo: «¿Qué ciudades son éstas que me has dado, hermano?» Y las llamó «Tierra de Cabul», nombre que tiene hasta hoy.

and he saith, `What these cities that thou hast given to me, my brother?' and one calleth them the land of Cabul unto this day.

14 H iram había enviado al rey ciento veinte talentos de oro.

And Hiram sendeth to the king a hundred and twenty talents of gold.

15 É sta es la razón de la leva que el rey Salomón impuso para edificar la casa de Jehová y su propia casa, Milo y el muro de Jerusalén, Hazor, Meguido y Gezer:

And this the matter of the tribute that king Solomon hath lifted up, to build the house of Jehovah, and his own house, and Millo, and the wall of Jerusalem, and Hazor, and Megiddo, and Gezer,

16 E l faraón, rey de Egipto, había subido y tomado a Gezer; después la quemó, dio muerte a los cananeos que habitaban en la ciudad y la dio en dote a su hija, la mujer de Salomón.

(Pharaoh king of Egypt hath gone up and doth capture Gezer, and doth burn it with fire, and the Canaanite who is dwelling in the city he hath slain, and giveth it presents to his daughter, wife of Solomon.)

17 R estauró, pues, Salomón a Gezer y a Bet-horón de abajo,

And Solomon buildeth Gezer, and Beth-Horon the lower,

18 a Baalat y a Tadmor en tierra del desierto;

and Baalath, and Tadmor in the wilderness, in the land;

19 a simismo todas las ciudades donde Salomón tenía provisiones, las ciudades de los carros, las ciudades de la gente de a caballo y todo lo que Salomón quiso edificar en Jerusalén, en el Líbano y en toda la tierra de su señorío.

and all the cities of stores that king Solomon hath, and the cities of the chariots, and the cities of the horsemen, and the desire of Solomon that he desired to build in Jerusalem, and in Lebanon, and in all the land of his dominion.

20 A todos los pueblos que quedaron de los amorreos, heteos, ferezeos, heveos y jebuseos, que no eran de los hijos de Israel,

The whole of the people that is left of the Amorite, the Hittite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite, who not of the sons of Israel --

21 y a sus descendientes, los que quedaron en la tierra después de ellos y que los hijos de Israel no pudieron acabar, Salomón los sometió a trabajos forzados, hasta hoy.

their sons who are left behind them in the land, whom the sons of Israel have not been able to devote -- he hath even lifted up them a tribute of service unto this day.

22 P ero a ninguno de los hijos de Israel impuso Salomón servicio, sino que eran hombres de guerra, sus criados, sus príncipes, sus capitanes, los comandantes de sus carros, o su gente de a caballo.

And out of the sons of Israel Solomon hath not appointed a servant, for they the men of war, and his servants, and his heads, and his captains, and the heads of his chariots, and his horsemen.

23 L os que Salomón había hecho jefes y vigilantes sobre las obras eran quinientos cincuenta hombres, quienes dirigían a la gente que trabajaba en aquella obra.

These the heads of the officers who over the work of Solomon, fifty and five hundred, those ruling among the people who are labouring in the work.

24 C uando subió la hija del faraón de la ciudad de David a la casa que Salomón le había edificado, entonces él edificó Milo.

Only, the daughter of Pharaoh went up out of the city of David unto her house that built for her; then he built Millo.

25 S alomón ofrecía tres veces cada año holocaustos y sacrificios de paz sobre el altar que él edificó a Jehová, y quemaba incienso sobre el que estaba delante de Jehová, después que la Casa estuvo terminada.

And Solomon caused to ascend, three times in a year, burnt-offerings and peace-offerings on the altar that he built to Jehovah, and he perfumed it with that which before Jehovah, and finished the house.

26 H izo también el rey Salomón naves en Ezión-geber, que está junto a Elot en la ribera del Mar Rojo, en la tierra de Edom.

And a navy hath king Solomon made in Ezion-Geber, that is beside Eloth, on the edge of the Sea of Suph, in the land of Edom.

27 H iram envió en ellas a sus siervos, marineros y diestros en el mar, con los siervos de Salomón,

And Hiram sendeth in the navy his servants, shipmen knowing the sea, with servants of Solomon,

28 l os cuales fueron a Ofir y tomaron de allí oro, cuatrocientos veinte talentos, y lo trajeron al rey Salomón.

and they come in to Ophir and take thence gold, four hundred and twenty talents, and bring in unto king Solomon.
