1 S ucedera pois que, tendo Salomão acabado de edificar a casa do Senhor, e a casa do rei, e tudo quanto lhe aprouve fazer,

And it cometh to pass, at Solomon's finishing to build the house of Jehovah, and the house of the king, and all the desire of Solomon that he delighted to do,

2 a pareceu-lhe o Senhor segunda vez, como lhe tinha aparecido em Gibeão.

that Jehovah appeareth unto Solomon a second time, as He appeared unto him in Gibeon,

3 E o Senhor lhe disse: Ouvi a tua oração e a tua súplica, que fizeste perante mim; santifiquei esta casa que edificaste, a fim de pôr ali o meu nome para sempre; e os meus olhos e o meu coração estarão ali todos os dias.

and Jehovah saith unto him, `I have heard thy prayer and thy supplication with which thou hast made supplication before Me; I have hallowed this house that thou hast built to put My name there -- unto the age, and Mine eyes and My heart have been there all the days.

4 O ra, se tu andares perante mim como andou Davi, teu pai, com inteireza de coração e com eqüidade, fazendo conforme tudo o que te ordenei, e guardando os meus estatutos e as minhas ordenanças,

`And thou -- if thou dost walk before Me as David thy father walked, in simplicity of heart, and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded thee -- My statutes and My judgments thou dost keep --

5 e ntão confirmarei o trono de teu reino sobre Israel para sempre, como prometi a teu pai Davi, dizendo: Não te faltará varão sobre o trono de Israel.

then I have established the throne of thy kingdom over Israel -- to the age, as I spake unto David thy father, saying, There is not cut off to thee a man from on the throne of Israel.

6 S e, porém, vós e vossos filhos de qualquer maneira vos desviardes e nao me seguirdes, nem guadardardes os meus mandamentos e os meus estatutos, que vos tenho proposto, mas fordes, e servirdes a outros deuses, curvando-vos perante eles,

`If ye at all turn back -- you and your sons -- from after Me, and keep not My commands -- My statutes, that I have set before you, and ye have gone and served other gods, and bowed yourselves to them,

7 e ntão exterminarei a Israel da terra que lhe dei; e a esta casa, que santifiquei a meu nome, lançarei longe da minha presença, e Israel será por provérbio e motejo entre todos os povos.

then I have cut off Israel from the face of the ground that I have given to them, and the house that I have hallowed for My name I send away from My presence, and Israel hath been for a simile and for a byword among all the peoples;

8 E desta casa, que é tão exaltada, todo aquele que por ela passar pasmará e assobiará, e dirá: Por que fez o Senhor assim a esta terra e a esta casa?

as to this house, is high, every one passing by it is astonished, and hath hissed, and they have said, Wherefore hath Jehovah done thus to this land and to this house?

9 E lhe responderão: E porque deixaram ao Senhor seu Deus, que tirou da terra do Egito a seus pais, e se apegaram a deuses alheios, e perante eles se encurvaram, e os serviram; por isso o Senhor trouxe sobre eles todo este mal.

and they have said, Because that they have forsaken Jehovah their God, who brought out their fathers from the land of Egypt, and they lay hold on other gods, and bow themselves to them, and serve them; therefore hath Jehovah brought in upon them all this evil.'

10 A o fim dos vinte anos em que Salomão edificara as duas casas, a casa do Senhor e a casa do rei,

And it cometh to pass, at the end of twenty years, that Solomon hath built the two houses, the house of Jehovah, and the house of the king.

11 c omo Hirão, rei de Tiro, trouxera a Salomão madeira de cedro e de cipreste, e ouro segundo todo o seu desejo, deu o rei Salomão a Hirão vinte cidades na terra da Galiléia.

Hiram king of Tyre hath assisted Solomon with cedar-trees, and with fir-trees, and with gold, according to all his desire; then doth king Solomon give to Hiram twenty cities in the land of Galilee.

12 H irão, pois, saiu de Tiro para ver as cidades que Salomão lhe dera; porém não lhe agradaram.

And Hiram cometh out from Tyre to see the cities that Solomon hath given to him, and they have not been right in his eyes,

13 P elo que disse: Que cidades são estas que me deste, irmão meu? De sorte que são chamadas até hoje terra de Cabul.

and he saith, `What these cities that thou hast given to me, my brother?' and one calleth them the land of Cabul unto this day.

14 H irão enviara ao rei cento e vinte talentos de ouro.

And Hiram sendeth to the king a hundred and twenty talents of gold.

15 A razão da leva de gente para trabalho forçado que o rei Salomão fez é esta: edificar a casa do Senhor e a sua própria casa, e Milo, e o muro de Jerusalém, como também Hazor, e Megido, e Gezer.

And this the matter of the tribute that king Solomon hath lifted up, to build the house of Jehovah, and his own house, and Millo, and the wall of Jerusalem, and Hazor, and Megiddo, and Gezer,

16 P ois Faraó, rei do Egito, tendo subido, tomara a Gezer e a queimara a fogo, e matando os cananeus que moravam na cidade, dera-a em dote a sua filha, mulher de Salomão.

(Pharaoh king of Egypt hath gone up and doth capture Gezer, and doth burn it with fire, and the Canaanite who is dwelling in the city he hath slain, and giveth it presents to his daughter, wife of Solomon.)

17 S alomão edificou Gezer, Bete-Horom a baixa,

And Solomon buildeth Gezer, and Beth-Horon the lower,

18 B aalate, Tamar no deserto daquela terra,

and Baalath, and Tadmor in the wilderness, in the land;

19 c omo também todas as cidades-armazéns que Salomão tinha, as cidades dos carros as cidades dos cavaleiros, e tudo o que Salomão quis edificar em Jerusalém, no Líbano, e em toda a terra de seu domínio.

and all the cities of stores that king Solomon hath, and the cities of the chariots, and the cities of the horsemen, and the desire of Solomon that he desired to build in Jerusalem, and in Lebanon, and in all the land of his dominion.

20 Q uanto a todo o povo que restou dos amorreus, dos heteus, dos perizeus, dos heveus e dos jebuseus, que não eram dos filhos de Israel,

The whole of the people that is left of the Amorite, the Hittite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite, who not of the sons of Israel --

21 a seus filhos, que restaram depois deles na terra, os quais os filhos de Israel não puderam destruir totalmente, Salomão lhes impôs tributo de trabalho forçado, até hoje.

their sons who are left behind them in the land, whom the sons of Israel have not been able to devote -- he hath even lifted up them a tribute of service unto this day.

22 M as dos filhos de Israel não fez Salomão escravo algum; porém eram homens de guerra, e seus servos, e seus príncipes, e seus capitães, e chefes dos seus carros e dos seus cavaleiros.

And out of the sons of Israel Solomon hath not appointed a servant, for they the men of war, and his servants, and his heads, and his captains, and the heads of his chariots, and his horsemen.

23 E stes eram os chefes dos oficiais que estavam sobre a obra de Salomão, quinhentos e cinqüenta, que davam ordens ao povo que trabalhava na obra.

These the heads of the officers who over the work of Solomon, fifty and five hundred, those ruling among the people who are labouring in the work.

24 S ubiu, porém, a filha de Faraó da cidade de Davi ã sua casa, que Salomão lhe edificara; então ele edificou Milo.

Only, the daughter of Pharaoh went up out of the city of David unto her house that built for her; then he built Millo.

25 E Salomão oferecia três vezes por ano holocaustos e ofertas pacíficas sobre a altar que edificara ao Senhor, queimando com eles incenso sobre o altar que estava perante o Senhor, depois que acabou de edificar a casa.

And Solomon caused to ascend, three times in a year, burnt-offerings and peace-offerings on the altar that he built to Jehovah, and he perfumed it with that which before Jehovah, and finished the house.

26 T ambém o rei Salomão fez uma frota em Eziom-Geber, que está junto a Elote, na praia do Mar Vermelho, na terra de Edom.

And a navy hath king Solomon made in Ezion-Geber, that is beside Eloth, on the edge of the Sea of Suph, in the land of Edom.

27 H irão mandou com aquela frota, em companhia dos servos de Salomão, os seus próprios servos, marinheiros que conheciam o mar;

And Hiram sendeth in the navy his servants, shipmen knowing the sea, with servants of Solomon,

28 o s quais foram a Ofir, e tomaram de lá quatrocentos e vinte talentos de ouro, que trouxeram ao rei Salomão.

and they come in to Ophir and take thence gold, four hundred and twenty talents, and bring in unto king Solomon.
