1 P or que se amotinam as nações, e os povos tramam em vão?

Why have nations tumultuously assembled? And do peoples meditate vanity?

2 O s reis da terra se levantam, e os príncipes juntos conspiram contra o Senhor e contra o seu ungido, dizendo:

Station themselves do kings of the earth, And princes have been united together, Against Jehovah, and against His Messiah:

3 R ompamos as suas ataduras, e sacudamos de nós as suas cordas.

`Let us draw off Their cords, And cast from us Their thick bands.'

4 A quele que está sentado nos céus se rirá; o Senhor zombará deles.

He who is sitting in the heavens doth laugh, The Lord doth mock at them.

5 E ntão lhes falará na sua ira, e no seu furor os confundirá, dizendo:

Then doth He speak unto them in His anger, And in His wrath He doth trouble them:

6 E u tenho estabelecido o meu Rei sobre Sião, meu santo monte.

`And I -- I have anointed My King, Upon Zion -- My holy hill.'

7 F alarei do decreto do Senhor; ele me disse: Tu és meu Filho, hoje te gerei.

I declare concerning a statute: Jehovah said unto me, `My Son Thou, I to-day have brought thee forth.

8 P ede-me, e eu te darei as nações por herança, e as extremidades da terra por possessão.

Ask of Me and I give nations -- thy inheritance, And thy possession -- the ends of earth.

9 T u os quebrarás com uma vara de ferro; tu os despedaçarás como a um vaso de oleiro.

Thou dost rule them with a sceptre of iron, As a vessel of a potter Thou dost crush them.'

10 A gora, pois, ó reis, sede prudentes; deixai-vos instruir, juízes da terra.

And now, O kings, act wisely, Be instructed, O judges of earth,

11 S ervi ao Senhor com temor, e regozijai-vos com tremor.

Serve ye Jehovah with fear, And rejoice with trembling.

12 B eijai o Filho, para que não se ire, e pereçais no caminho; porque em breve se inflamará a sua ira. Bem-aventurados todos aqueles que nele confiam.

Kiss the Chosen One, lest He be angry, And ye lose the way, When His anger burneth but a little, O the happiness of all trusting in Him!
