1 H avia um homem da região montanhosa de Efraim, cujo nome era Mica.

And there is a man of the hill-country of Ephraim, and his name Micah,

2 D isse este a sua mãe: As mil e cem moedas de prata que te foram tiradas, por cuja causa lançaste maldições, e acerca das quais também me falaste, eis que esse dinheiro está comigo, eu o tomei. Então disse sua mãe: Bendito do Senhor seja meu filho!

and he saith to his mother, `The eleven hundred silverlings which have been taken of thine, and thou hast sworn, and also spoken in mine ears; lo, the silver with me, I have taken it;' and his mother saith, `Blessed my son of Jehovah.'

3 E ele restituiu as mil e cem moedas de prata a sua mãe; porém ela disse: Da minha mão dedico solenemente este dinheiro ao Senhor a favor de meu filho, para fazer uma imagem esculpida e uma de fundição; de sorte que agora to tornarei a dar.

And he giveth back the eleven hundred silverlings to his mother, and his mother saith, `I had certainly sanctified the silver to Jehovah, from my hand, for my son, to make a graven image, and a molten image; and now, I give it back to thee.'

4 Q uando ele restituiu o dinheiro a sua mãe, ela tomou duzentas moedas de prata, e as deu ao ourives, o qual fez delas uma imagem esculpida e uma de fundição, as quais ficaram em casa de Mica.

And he giveth back the money to his mother, and his mother taketh two hundred silverlings, and giveth them to a refiner, and he maketh them a graven image, and a molten image, and it is in the house of Micah.

5 O ra, tinha este homem, Mica, uma casa de deuses; e fez um éfode e terafins, e consagrou um de seus filhos, que lhe serviu de sacerdote.

As to the man Micah, he hath a house of gods, and he maketh an ephod, and teraphim, and consecrateth the hand of one of his sons, and he is to him for a priest;

6 N aquelas dias não havia rei em Israel; cada qual fazia o que parecia bem aos seus olhos.

in those days there is no king in Israel, each that which is right in his own eyes doth.

7 E havia um mancebo de Belém de Judá, da família de Judá, que era levita, e peregrinava ali.

And there is a young man of Beth-Lehem-Judah, of the family of Judah, and he a Levite, and he a sojourner there.

8 E ste homem partiu da cidade de Belém de Judá para peregrinar onde quer que achasse conveniente. Seguindo ele o seu caminho, chegou ã região montanhosa de Efraim, ã casa de Mica,

And the man goeth out of the city, out of Beth-Lehem-Judah, to sojourn where he doth find, and cometh to the hill-country of Ephraim, unto the house of Micah, to work his way.

9 o qual lhe perguntou: Donde vens? E ele lhe respondeu: Sou levita de Belém de Judá, e vou peregrinar onde achar conveniente.

And Micah saith to him, `Whence comest thou?' and he saith unto him, `A Levite I, of Beth-Lehem-Judah, and I am going to sojourn where I do find.'

10 E ntão lhe disse Mica: Fica comigo, e sê-me por pai e sacerdote; e cada ano te darei dez moedas de prata, o vestuário e o sustento. E o levita entrou.

And Micah saith to him, `Dwell with me, and be to me for a father and for a priest, and I give to thee ten silverlings for the days, and a suit of garments, and thy sustenance;' and the Levite goeth.

11 C onsentiu, pois, o levita em ficar com aquele homem, e lhe foi como um de seus filhos.

And the Levite is willing to dwell with the man, and the young man is to him as one of his sons.

12 E Mica consagrou o levita, e o mancebo lhe serviu de sacerdote, e ficou em sua casa.

And Micah consecrateth the hand of the Levite, and the young man is to him for a priest, and he is in the house of Micah,

13 E ntão disse Mica: Agora sei que o Senhor me fará bem, porquanto tenho um levita por sacerdote.

and Micah saith, `Now I have known that Jehovah doth good to me, for the Levite hath been to me for a priest.'
