1 L ivra-me, Deus meu, dos meus inimigos; protege-me daqueles que se levantam contra mim.

2 L ivra-me do que praticam a iniqüidade, e salva-me dos homens sanguinários.

Deliver me from workers of iniquity, And from men of blood save me.

3 P ois eis que armam ciladas ã minha alma; os fortes se ajuntam contra mim, não por transgressão minha nem por pecado meu, ó Senhor.

For, lo, they laid wait for my soul, Assembled against me are strong ones, Not my transgression nor my sin, O Jehovah.

4 E les correm, e se preparam, sem culpa minha; desperta para me ajudares, e olha.

Without punishment they run and prepare themselves, Stir up to meet me, and see.

5 T u, ó Senhor, Deus dos exércitos, Deus de Israel, desperta para punir todas as nações; não tenhas misericórdia de nenhum dos pérfidos que praticam a iniqüidade.

And Thou, Jehovah, God of Hosts, God of Israel, Awake to inspect all the nations. Favour not any treacherous dealers of iniquity. Selah.

6 E les voltam ã tarde, uivam como cães, e andam rodeando a cidade.

They turn back at evening, They make a noise like a dog, And go round about the city.

7 E is que eles soltam gritos; espadas estão nos seus lábios; porque (pensam eles), quem ouve?

Lo, they belch out with their mouths, Swords in their lips, for `Who heareth?'

8 M as tu, Senhor, te rirás deles; zombarás de todas as nações.

And Thou, O Jehovah dost laugh at them, Thou dost mock at all the nations.

9 E m ti, força minha, esperarei; pois Deus é o meu alto refúgio.

O my Strength, unto Thee I take heed, For God my tower -- the God of my kindness.

10 O meu Deus com a sua benignidade virá ao meu encontro; Deus me fará ver o meu desejo sobre os meus inimigos.

God doth go before me, He causeth me to look on mine enemies.

11 N ão os mates, para que meu povo não se esqueça; espalha-os pelo teu poder, e abate-os ó Senhor, escudo nosso.

Slay them not, lest my people forget, Shake them by Thy strength, And bring them down, O Lord our shield.

12 P elo pecado da sua boca e pelas palavras dos seus lábios fiquem presos na sua soberba. Pelas maldições e pelas mentiras que proferem,

The sin of their mouth a word of their lips, And they are captured in their pride, And from the curse and lying they recount.

13 c onsome-os na tua indignação; consome-os, de modo que não existem mais; para que saibam que Deus reina sobre Jacó, até os confins da terra.

Consume in fury, consume and they are not, And they know that God is ruling in Jacob, To the ends of the earth. Selah.

14 E les tornam a vir ã tarde, uivam como cães, e andam rodeando a cidade;

And they turn back at evening, They make a noise like a dog, And they go round about the city.

15 v agueiam buscando o que comer, e resmungam se não se fartarem.

They -- they wander for food, If they are not satisfied -- then they murmur.

16 E u, porém, cantarei a tua força; pela manhã louvarei com alegria a tua benignidade, porquanto tens sido para mim uma fortaleza, e refúgio no dia da minha angústia.

And I -- I sing Thy strength, And I sing at morn Thy kindness, For thou hast been a tower to me, And a refuge for me in a day of adversity.

17 A ti, ó força minha, cantarei louvores; porque Deus é a minha fortaleza, é o Deus que me mostra benignidade.

O my Strength, unto Thee I sing praise, For God my tower, the God of my kindness!
