2 D a boca das crianças e dos que mamam tu suscitaste força, por causa dos teus adversários para fazeres calar o inimigo e vingador.

From the mouths of infants and sucklings Thou hast founded strength, Because of Thine adversaries, To still an enemy and a self-avenger.

3 Q uando contemplo os teus céus, obra dos teus dedos, a lua e as estrelas que estabeleceste,

For I see Thy heavens, a work of Thy fingers, Moon and stars that Thou didst establish.

4 q ue é o homem, para que te lembres dele? e o filho do homem, para que o visites?

What man that Thou rememberest him? The son of man that Thou inspectest him?

5 C ontudo, pouco abaixo de Deus o fizeste; de glória e de honra o coroaste.

And causest him to lack a little of Godhead, And with honour and majesty compassest him.

6 D este-lhe domínio sobre as obras das tuas mãos; tudo puseste debaixo de seus pés:

Thou dost cause him to rule Over the works of Thy hands, All Thou hast placed under his feet.

7 t odas as ovelhas e bois, assim como os animais do campo,

Sheep and oxen, all of them, And also beasts of the field,

8 a s aves do céu, e os peixes do mar, tudo o que passa pelas veredas dos mares.

Bird of the heavens, and fish of the sea, Passing through the paths of the seas!
