1 ^ ^Начальнику хора. На Гефском. Псалом Давида.^^ (8-2) Господи, Боже наш! как величественно имя Твое по всей земле! Слава Твоя простирается превыше небес!

To the Overseer, `On the Gittith.' A Psalm of David. Jehovah, our Lord, How honourable Thy name in all the earth! Who settest thine honour on the heavens.

2 ( 8-3) Из уст младенцев и грудных детей Ты устроил хвалу, ради врагов Твоих, дабы сделать безмолвным врага и мстителя.

From the mouths of infants and sucklings Thou hast founded strength, Because of Thine adversaries, To still an enemy and a self-avenger.

3 ( 8-4) Когда взираю я на небеса Твои--дело Твоих перстов, на луну и звезды, которые Ты поставил,

For I see Thy heavens, a work of Thy fingers, Moon and stars that Thou didst establish.

4 ( 8-5) то что человек, что Ты помнишь его, и сын человеческий, что Ты посещаешь его?

What man that Thou rememberest him? The son of man that Thou inspectest him?

5 ( 8-6) Не много Ты умалил его пред Ангелами: славою и честью увенчал его;

And causest him to lack a little of Godhead, And with honour and majesty compassest him.

6 ( 8-7) поставил его владыкою над делами рук Твоих; всё положил под ноги его:

Thou dost cause him to rule Over the works of Thy hands, All Thou hast placed under his feet.

7 ( 8-8) овец и волов всех, и также полевых зверей,

Sheep and oxen, all of them, And also beasts of the field,

8 ( 8-9) птиц небесных и рыб морских, все, преходящее морскими стезями.

Bird of the heavens, and fish of the sea, Passing through the paths of the seas!

9 ( 8-10) Господи, Боже наш! Как величественно имя Твое по всей земле!

Jehovah, our Lord, How honourable Thy name in all the earth!
