1 К огда Исаак состарился и притупилось зрение глаз его, он призвал старшего сына своего Исава и сказал ему: сын мой! Тот сказал ему: вот я.

And it cometh to pass that Isaac aged, and his eyes are too dim for seeing, and he calleth Esau his elder son, and saith unto him, `My son;' and he saith unto him, `Here I.'

2 О н сказал: вот, я состарился; не знаю дня смерти моей;

And he saith, `Lo, I pray thee, I have become aged, I have not known the day of my death;

3 в озьми теперь орудия твои, колчан твой и лук твой, пойди в поле, и налови мне дичи,

and now, take up, I pray thee, thy instruments, thy quiver, and thy bow, and go out to the field, and hunt for me provision,

4 и приготовь мне кушанье, какое я люблю, и принеси мне есть, чтобы благословила тебя душа моя, прежде нежели я умру.

and make for me tasteful things, as I have loved, and bring in to me, and I do eat, so that my soul doth bless thee before I die.'

5 Р евекка слышала, когда Исаак говорил сыну своему Исаву. И пошел Исав в поле достать и принести дичи;

And Rebekah is hearkening while Isaac is speaking unto Esau his son; and Esau goeth to the field to hunt provision -- to bring in;

6 а Ревекка сказала сыну своему Иакову: вот, я слышала, как отец твой говорил брату твоему Исаву:

and Rebekah hath spoken unto Jacob her son, saying, `Lo, I have heard thy father speaking unto Esau thy brother, saying,

7 п ринеси мне дичи и приготовь мне кушанье; я поем и благословлю тебя пред лицем Господним, пред смертью моею.

Bring for me provision, and make for me tasteful things, and I do eat, and bless thee before Jehovah before my death.

8 Т еперь, сын мой, послушайся слов моих в том, что я прикажу тебе:

`And now, my son, hearken to my voice, to that which I am commanding thee:

9 п ойди в и возьми мне оттуда два козленка хороших, и я приготовлю из них отцу твоему кушанье, какое он любит,

Go, I pray thee, unto the flock, and take for me from thence two good kids of the goats, and I make them tasteful things for thy father, as he hath loved;

10 а ты принесешь отцу твоему, и он поест, чтобы благословить тебя пред смертью своею.

and thou hast taken in to thy father, and he hath eaten, so that his soul doth bless thee before his death.

11 И аков сказал Ревекке, матери своей: Исав, брат мой, человек косматый, а я человек гладкий;

And Jacob saith unto Rebekah his mother, `Lo, Esau my brother a hairy man, and I a smooth man,

12 м ожет статься, ощупает меня отец мой, и я буду в глазах его обманщиком и наведу на себя проклятие, а не благословение.

it may be my father doth feel me, and I have been in his eyes as a deceiver, and have brought upon me disesteem, and not a blessing;'

13 М ать его сказала ему: на мне пусть будет проклятие твое, сын мой, только послушайся слов моих и пойди, принеси мне.

and his mother saith to him, `On me thy disesteem, my son; only hearken to my voice, and go, take for me.'

14 О н пошел, и взял, и принес матери своей; и мать его сделала кушанье, какое любил отец его.

And he goeth, and taketh, and bringeth to his mother, and his mother maketh tasteful things, as his father hath loved;

15 И взяла Ревекка богатую одежду старшего сына своего Исава, бывшую у ней в доме, и одела младшего сына своего Иакова;

and Rebekah taketh the desirable garments of Esau her elder son, which with her in the house, and doth put on Jacob her younger son;

16 а руки его и гладкую шею его обложила кожею козлят;

and the skins of the kids of the goats she hath put on his hands, and on the smooth of his neck,

17 и дала кушанье и хлеб, которые она приготовила, в руки Иакову, сыну своему.

and she giveth the tasteful things, and the bread which she hath made, into the hand of Jacob her son.

18 О н вошел к отцу своему и сказал: отец мой! Тот сказал: вот я; кто ты, сын мой?

And he cometh in unto his father, and saith, `My father;' and he saith, `Here I; who thou, my son?'

19 И аков сказал отцу своему: я Исав, первенец твой; я сделал, как ты сказал мне; встань, сядь и поешь дичи моей, чтобы благословила меня душа твоя.

And Jacob saith unto his father, `I Esau thy first-born; I have done as thou hast spoken unto me; rise, I pray thee, sit, and eat of my provision, so that thy soul doth bless me.'

20 И сказал Исаак сыну своему: что так скоро нашел ты, сын мой? Он сказал: потому что Господь Бог твой послал мне навстречу.

And Isaac saith unto his son, `What this thou hast hasted to find, my son?' and he saith, `That which Jehovah thy God hath caused to come before me.'

21 И сказал Исаак Иакову: подойди, я ощупаю тебя, сын мой, ты ли сын мой Исав, или нет?

And Isaac saith unto Jacob, `Come nigh, I pray thee, and I feel thee, my son, whether thou he, my son Esau, or not.'

22 И аков подошел к Исааку, отцу своему, и он ощупал его и сказал: голос, голос Иакова; а руки, руки Исавовы.

And Jacob cometh nigh unto Isaac his father, and he feeleth him, and saith, `The voice the voice of Jacob, and the hands hands of Esau.'

23 И не узнал его, потому что руки его были, как руки Исава, брата его, косматые; и благословил его

And he hath not discerned him, for his hands have been hairy, as the hands of Esau his brother, and he blesseth him,

24 и сказал: ты ли сын мой Исав? Он отвечал: я.

and saith, `Thou art he -- my son Esau?' and he saith, `I.'

25 с казал: подай мне, я поем дичи сына моего, чтобы благословила тебя душа моя. подал ему, и он ел; принес ему и вина, и он пил.

And he saith, `Bring nigh to me, and I do eat of my son's provision, so that my soul doth bless thee;' and he bringeth nigh to him, and he eateth; and he bringeth to him wine, and he drinketh.

26 И саак, отец его, сказал ему: подойди, поцелуй меня, сын мой.

And Isaac his father saith to him, `Come nigh, I pray thee, and kiss me, my son;'

27 О н подошел и поцеловал его. И ощутил запах от одежды его и благословил его и сказал: вот, запах от сына моего, как запах от поля, которое благословил Господь;

and he cometh nigh, and kisseth him, and he smelleth the fragrance of his garments, and blesseth him, and saith, `See, the fragrance of my son as the fragrance of a field which Jehovah hath blessed;

28 д а даст тебе Бог от росы небесной и от тука земли, и множество хлеба и вина;

and God doth give to thee of the dew of heaven, and of the fatness of the earth, and abundance of corn and wine;

29 д а послужат тебе народы, и да поклонятся тебе племена; будь господином над братьями твоими, и да поклонятся тебе сыны матери твоей; проклинающие тебя--прокляты; благословляющие тебя--благословенны!

peoples serve thee, and nations bow themselves to thee, be thou mighty over thy brethren, and the sons of thy mother bow themselves to thee; those who curse thee cursed, and those who bless thee blessed.'

30 К ак скоро совершил Исаак благословение над Иаковом, и как только вышел Иаков от лица Исаака, отца своего, Исав, брат его, пришел с ловли своей.

And it cometh to pass, as Isaac hath finished blessing Jacob, and Jacob is only just going out from the presence of Isaac his father, that Esau his brother hath come in from his hunting;

31 П риготовил и он кушанье, и принес отцу своему, и сказал отцу своему: встань, отец мой, и поешь дичи сына твоего, чтобы благословила меня душа твоя.

and he also maketh tasteful things, and bringeth to his father, and saith to his father, `Let my father arise, and eat of his son's provision, so that thy soul doth bless me.'

32 И саак же, отец его, сказал ему: кто ты? Он сказал: я сын твой, первенец твой, Исав.

And Isaac his father saith to him, `Who thou?' and he saith, `I thy son, thy first-born, Esau;'

33 И вострепетал Исаак весьма великим трепетом, и сказал: кто ж это, который достал дичи и принес мне, и я ел от всего, прежде нежели ты пришел, и я благословил его? он и будет благословен.

and Isaac trembleth a very great trembling, and saith, `Who, now, he who hath provided provision, and bringeth in to me, and I eat of all before thou comest in, and I bless him? -- yea, blessed is he.'

34 И сав, выслушав слова отца своего, поднял громкий и весьма горький вопль и сказал отцу своему: отец мой! благослови и меня.

When Esau heareth the words of his father, then he crieth a very great and bitter cry, and saith to his father, `Bless me, me also, O my father;'

35 Н о он сказал: брат твой пришел с хитростью и взял благословение твое.

and he saith, `Thy brother hath come with subtilty, and taketh thy blessing.'

36 И сказал он: не потому ли дано ему имя: Иаков, что он запнул меня уже два раза? Он взял первородство мое, и вот, теперь взял благословение мое. И сказал: неужели ты не оставил мне благословения?

And he saith, `Is it because called his name Jacob that he doth take me by the heel these two times? my birthright he hath taken; and lo, now, he hath taken my blessing;' he saith also, `Hast thou not kept back a blessing for me?'

37 И саак отвечал Исаву: вот, я поставил его господином над тобою и всех братьев его отдал ему в рабы; одарил его хлебом и вином; что же я сделаю для тебя, сын мой?

And Isaac answereth and saith to Esau, `Lo, a mighty one have I set him over thee, and all his brethren have I given to him for servants, and corn and wine have I sustained him; and for thee now, what shall I do, my son?'

38 Н о Исав сказал отцу своему: неужели, отец мой, одно у тебя благословение? благослови и меня, отец мой! И возвысил Исав голос свой и заплакал.

And Esau saith unto his father, `One blessing hast thou my father? bless me, me also, O my father;' and Esau lifteth up his voice, and weepeth.

39 И отвечал Исаак, отец его, и сказал ему: вот, от тука земли будет обитание твое и от росы небесной свыше;

And Isaac his father answereth and saith unto him, `Lo, of the fatness of the earth is thy dwelling, and of the dew of the heavens from above;

40 и ты будешь жить мечом твоим и будешь служить брату твоему; будет же, когда воспротивишься и свергнешь иго его с выи твоей.

and by thy sword dost thou live, and thy brother dost thou serve; and it hath come to pass when thou rulest, that thou hast broken his yoke from off thy neck.'

41 И возненавидел Исав Иакова за благословение, которым благословил его отец его; и сказал Исав в сердце своем: приближаются дни плача по отце моем, и я убью Иакова, брата моего.

And Esau hateth Jacob, because of the blessing with which his father blessed him, and Esau saith in his heart, `The days of mourning my father draw near, and I slay Jacob my brother.'

42 И пересказаны были Ревекке слова Исава, старшего сына ее; и она послала, и призвала младшего сына своего Иакова, и сказала ему: вот, Исав, брат твой, грозит убить тебя;

And the words of Esau her elder son are declared to Rebekah, and she sendeth and calleth for Jacob her younger son, and saith unto him, `Lo, Esau thy brother is comforting himself in regard to thee -- to slay thee;

43 и теперь, сын мой, послушайся слов моих, встань, беги к Лавану, брату моему, в Харран,

and now, my son, hearken to my voice, and rise, flee for thyself unto Laban my brother, to Haran,

44 и поживи у него несколько времени, пока утолится ярость брата твоего,

and thou hast dwelt with him some days, till thy brother's fury turn back,

45 п ока утолится гнев брата твоего на тебя, и он позабудет, что ты сделал ему: тогда я пошлю и возьму тебя оттуда; для чего мне в один день лишиться обоих вас?

till thy brother's anger turn back from thee, and he hath forgotten that which thou hast done to him, and I have sent and taken thee from thence; why am I bereaved even of you both the same day?'

46 И сказала Ревекка Исааку: я жизни не рада от дочерей Хеттейских; если Иаков возьмет жену из дочерей Хеттейских, каковы эти, из дочерей этой земли, то к чему мне и жизнь?

And Rebekah saith unto Isaac, `I have been disgusted with my life because of the presence of the daughters of Heth; if Jacob take a wife of the daughters of Heth, like these -- from the daughters of the land -- why do I live?'
