1 И пришли те два Ангела в Содом вечером, когда Лот сидел у ворот Содома. Лот увидел, и встал, чтобы встретить их, и поклонился лицем до земли

And two of the messengers come towards Sodom at even, and Lot is sitting at the gate of Sodom, and Lot seeth, and riseth to meet them, and boweth himself -- face to the earth,

2 и сказал: государи мои! зайдите в дом раба вашего и ночуйте, и умойте ноги ваши, и встаньте поутру и пойдете в путь свой. Но они сказали: нет, мы ночуем на улице.

and he saith, `Lo, I pray you, my lords, turn aside, I pray you, unto the house of your servant, and lodge, and wash your feet -- then ye have risen early and gone on your way;' and they say, `Nay, but in the broad place we do lodge.'

3 О н же сильно упрашивал их; и они пошли к нему и пришли в дом его. Он сделал им угощение и испек пресные хлебы, и они ели.

And he presseth on them greatly, and they turn aside unto him, and come in unto his house; and he maketh for them a banquet, and hath baked unleavened things; and they do eat.

4 Е ще не легли они спать, как городские жители, Содомляне, от молодого до старого, весь народ со концов, окружили дом

Before they lie down, the men of the city -- men of Sodom -- have come round about against the house, from young even unto aged, all the people from the extremity;

5 и вызвали Лота и говорили ему: где люди, пришедшие к тебе на ночь? выведи их к нам; мы познаем их.

and they call unto Lot and say to him, `Where the men who have come in unto thee to-night? bring them out unto us, and we know them.'

6 Л от вышел к ним ко входу, и запер за собою дверь,

And Lot goeth out unto them, to the opening, and the door hath shut behind him,

7 и сказал: братья мои, не делайте зла;

and saith, `Do not, I pray you, my brethren, do evil;

8 в от у меня две дочери, которые не познали мужа; лучше я выведу их к вам, делайте с ними, что вам угодно, только людям сим не делайте ничего, так как они пришли под кров дома моего.

lo, I pray you, I have two daughters, who have not known any one; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do to them as good in your eyes; only to these men do not anything, for therefore have they come in within the shadow of my roof.'

9 Н о они сказали: пойди сюда. И сказали: вот пришлец, и хочет судить? теперь мы хуже поступим с тобою, нежели с ними. И очень приступали к человеку сему, к Лоту, и подошли, чтобы выломать дверь.

And they say, `Come nigh hither;' they say also, `This one hath come in to sojourn, and he certainly judgeth! now, we do evil to thee more than them;' and they press against the man, against Lot greatly, and come nigh to break the door.

10 Т огда мужи те простерли руки свои и ввели Лота к себе в дом, и дверь заперли;

And the men put forth their hand, and bring in Lot unto them, into the house, and have shut the door;

11 а людей, бывших при входе в дом, поразили слепотою, от малого до большого, так что они измучились, искав входа.

and the men who at the opening of the house they have smitten with blindness, from small even unto great, and they weary themselves to find the opening.

12 С казали мужи те Лоту: кто у тебя есть еще здесь? зять ли, сыновья ли твои, дочери ли твои, и кто бы ни был у тебя в городе, всех выведи из сего места,

And the men say unto Lot, `Whom hast thou here still? son-in-law, thy sons also, and thy daughters, and all whom thou hast in the city, bring out from this place;

13 и бо мы истребим сие место, потому что велик вопль на жителей его к Господу, и Господь послал нас истребить его.

for we are destroying this place, for their cry hath been great the face of Jehovah, and Jehovah doth send us to destroy it.'

14 И вышел Лот, и говорил с зятьями своими, которые брали за себя дочерей его, и сказал: встаньте, выйдите из сего места, ибо Господь истребит сей город. Но зятьям его показалось, что он шутит.

And Lot goeth out, and speaketh unto his sons-in-law, those taking his daughters, and saith, `Rise, go out from this place, for Jehovah is destroying the city;' and he is as mocking in the eyes of his sons-in-law.

15 К огда взошла заря, Ангелы начали торопить Лота, говоря: встань, возьми жену твою и двух дочерей твоих, которые у тебя, чтобы не погибнуть тебе за беззакония города.

And when the dawn hath ascended, then the messengers press upon Lot, saying, `Rise, take thy wife, and thy two daughters who are found present, lest thou be consumed in the iniquity of the city.'

16 И как он медлил, то мужи те, по милости к нему Господней, взяли за руку его и жену его, и двух дочерей его, и вывели его и поставили его вне города.

And he lingereth, and the men lay hold on his hand, and on the hand of his wife, and on the hand of his two daughters, through the mercy of Jehovah unto him, and they bring him out, and cause him to rest without the city.

17 К огда же вывели их вон, сказал: спасай душу свою; не оглядывайся назад и нигде не останавливайся в окрестности сей; спасайся на гору, чтобы тебе не погибнуть.

And it cometh to pass when he hath brought them out without, that he saith, `Escape for thy life; look not expectingly behind thee, nor stand thou in all the circuit; to the mountain escape, lest thou be consumed.'

18 Н о Лот сказал им: нет, Владыка!

And Lot saith unto them, `Not, I pray thee, my lord;

19 в от, раб Твой обрел благоволение пред очами Твоими, и велика милость Твоя, которую Ты сделал со мною, что спас жизнь мою; но я не могу спасаться на гору, чтоб не застигла меня беда и мне не умереть;

lo, I pray thee, thy servant hath found grace in thine eyes, and thou dost make great thy kindness which thou hast done with me by saving my life, and I am unable to escape to the mountain, lest the evil cleave me, and I have died;

20 в от, ближе бежать в сей город, он же мал; побегу я туда, --он же мал; и сохранится жизнь моя.

lo, I pray thee, this city near to flee thither, and it little; let me escape, I pray thee, thither, (is it not little?) and my soul doth live.'

21 И сказал ему: вот, в угодность тебе Я сделаю и это: не ниспровергну города, о котором ты говоришь;

And he saith unto him, `Lo, I have accepted thy face also for this thing, without overthrowing the city which thou hast spoken;

22 п оспешай, спасайся туда, ибо Я не могу сделать дела, доколе ты не придешь туда. Потому и назван город сей: Сигор.

haste, escape thither, for I am not able to do anything till thine entering thither;' therefore hath he calleth the name of the city Zoar.

23 С олнце взошло над землею, и Лот пришел в Сигор.

The sun hath gone out on the earth, and Lot hath entered into Zoar,

24 И пролил Господь на Содом и Гоморру дождем серу и огонь от Господа с неба,

and Jehovah hath rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from Jehovah, from the heavens;

25 и ниспроверг города сии, и всю окрестность сию, и всех жителей городов сих, и произрастания земли.

and He overthroweth these cities, and all the circuit, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which is shooting up from the ground.

26 Ж ена же оглянулась позади его, и стала соляным столпом.

And his wife looketh expectingly from behind him, and she is -- a pillar of salt!

27 И встал Авраам рано утром и на место, где стоял пред лицем Господа,

And Abraham riseth early in the morning, unto the place where he hath stood the face of Jehovah;

28 и посмотрел к Содому и Гоморре и на все пространство окрестности и увидел: вот, дым поднимается с земли, как дым из печи.

and he looketh on the face of Sodom and Gomorrah, and on all the face of the land of the circuit, and seeth, and lo, the smoke of the land went up as smoke of the furnace.

29 И было, когда Бог истреблял города окрестности сей, вспомнил Бог об Аврааме и выслал Лота из среды истребления, когда ниспровергал города, в которых жил Лот.

And it cometh to pass, in God's destroying the cities of the circuit, that God remembereth Abraham, and sendeth Lot out of the midst of the overthrow in the overthrowing of the cities in which Lot dwelt.

30 И вышел Лот из Сигора и стал жить в горе, и с ним две дочери его, ибо он боялся жить в Сигоре. И жил в пещере, и с ним две дочери его.

And Lot goeth up out of Zoar, and dwelleth in the mountain, and his two daughters with him, for he hath been afraid of dwelling in Zoar, and he dwelleth in a cave, he and his two daughters.

31 И сказала старшая младшей: отец наш стар, и нет человека на земле, который вошел бы к нам по обычаю всей земли;

And the first-born saith unto the younger, `Our father old, and a man there is not in the earth to come in unto us, as the way of all the earth;

32 и так напоим отца нашего вином, и переспим с ним, и восставим от отца нашего племя.

come, we cause our father to drink wine, and lie with him, and preserve from our father -- a seed.'

33 И напоили отца своего вином в ту ночь; и вошла старшая и спала с отцом своим: а он не знал, когда она легла и когда встала.

And they cause their father to drink wine on that night; and the first-born goeth in, and lieth with her father, and he hath not known in her lying down, or in her rising up.

34 Н а другой день старшая сказала младшей: вот, я спала вчера с отцом моим; напоим его вином и в эту ночь; и ты войди, спи с ним, и восставим от отца нашего племя.

And it cometh to pass, on the morrow, that the first-born saith unto the younger, `Lo, I have lain yesterday-night with my father: we cause him to drink wine also to-night, and go thou in, lie with him, and we preserve from our father -- a seed.'

35 И напоили отца своего вином и в эту ночь; и вошла младшая и спала с ним; и он не знал, когда она легла и когда встала.

And they cause their father to drink wine on that night also, and the younger riseth and lieth with him, and he hath not known in her lying down, or in her rising up.

36 И сделались обе дочери Лотовы беременными от отца своего,

And the two daughters of Lot conceive from their father,

37 и родила старшая сына, и нарекла ему имя: Моав. Он отец Моавитян доныне.

and the first-born beareth a son, and calleth his name Moab; he father of Moab unto this day;

38 И младшая также родила сына, и нарекла ему имя: Бен-Амми. Он отец Аммонитян доныне.

as to the younger, she also hath born a son, and calleth his name Ben-Ammi: he father of the Beni-Ammon unto this day.
