A Song of the Ascents, by David. Save Jehovah -- who hath been for us, (Pray, let Israel say),

2 ( 123-2) если бы не Господь был с нами, когда восстали на нас люди,

Save Jehovah -- who hath been for us, In the rising up of man against us,

3 ( 123-3) то живых они поглотили бы нас, когда возгорелась ярость их на нас;

Then alive they had swallowed us up, In the burning of their anger against us,

4 ( 123-4) воды потопили бы нас, поток прошел бы над душею нашею;

Then the waters had overflowed us, The stream passed over our soul,

5 ( 123-5) прошли бы над душею нашею воды бурные.

Then passed over our soul had the proud waters.

6 ( 123-6) Благословен Господь, Который не дал нас в добычу зубам их!

Blessed Jehovah who hath not given us, A prey to their teeth.

7 ( 123-7) Душа наша избавилась, как птица, из сети ловящих: сеть расторгнута, и мы избавились.

Our soul as a bird hath escaped from a snare of fowlers, The snare was broken, and we have escaped.

8 ( 123-8) Помощь наша--в имени Господа, сотворившего небо и землю.

Our help in the name of Jehovah, Maker of the heavens and earth!
