1 П риступите, народы, слушайте и внимайте, племена! да слышит земля и всё, что наполняет ее, вселенная и всё рождающееся в ней!

Come near, ye nations, to hear, And ye peoples, give attention, Hear doth the earth and its fulness, The world, and all its productions.

2 И бо гнев Господа на все народы, и ярость Его на все воинство их. Он предал их заклятию, отдал их на заклание.

For wrath to Jehovah against all the nations, And fury against all their host, He hath devoted them to destruction, He hath given them to slaughter.

3 И убитые их будут разбросаны, и от трупов их поднимется смрад, и горы размокнут от крови их.

And their wounded are cast out, And their carcases cause their stench to ascend, And melted have been mountains from their blood.

4 И истлеет все небесное воинство; и небеса свернутся, как свиток книжный; и все воинство их падет, как спадает лист с виноградной лозы, и как увядший лист--со смоковницы.

And consumed have been all the host of the heavens, And rolled together as a book have been the heavens, And all their hosts do fade, As the fading of a leaf of a vine, And as the fading one of a fig-tree.

5 И бо упился меч Мой на небесах: вот, для суда нисходит он на Едом и на народ, преданный Мною заклятию.

For soaked in the heavens was My sword, Lo, on Edom it cometh down, On the people of My curse for judgment.

6 М еч Господа наполнится кровью, утучнеет от тука, от крови агнцев и козлов, от тука с почек овнов: ибо жертва у Господа в Восоре и большое заклание в земле Едома.

A sword to Jehovah -- it hath been full of blood, It hath been made fat with fatness, With blood of lambs and he-goats. With fat of kidneys of rams, For a sacrifice to Jehovah in Bozrah, And a great slaughter in the land of Edom.

7 И буйволы падут с ними и тельцы вместе с волами, и упьется земля их кровью, и прах их утучнеет от тука.

And come down have reems with them, And bullocks with bulls, And soaked hath been their land from blood, And their dust from fatness is made fat.

8 И бо день мщения у Господа, год возмездия за Сион.

(For a day of vengeance to Jehovah, A year of recompences for Zion's strife,)

9 И превратятся реки его в смолу, и прах его--в серу, и будет земля его горящею смолою:

And turned have been her streams to pitch, And her dust to brimstone, And her land hath become burning pitch.

10 н е будет гаснуть ни днем, ни ночью; вечно будет восходить дым ее; будет от рода в род оставаться опустелою; во веки веков никто не пройдет по ней;

By night and by day she is not quenched, To the age go up doth her smoke, From generation to generation she is waste, For ever and ever, none is passing into her.

11 и завладеют ею пеликан и еж; и филин и ворон поселятся в ней; и протянут по ней вервь разорения и отвес уничтожения.

And possess her do pelican and hedge-hog, And owl and raven dwell in her, And He hath stretched out over her A line of vacancy, and stones of emptiness.

12 Н икого не останется там из знатных ее, кого можно было бы призвать на царство, и все князья ее будут ничто.

the kingdom her freemen they call, But there are none there, And all her princes are at an end.

13 И зарастут дворцы ее колючими растениями, крапивою и репейником--твердыни ее; и будет она жилищем шакалов, пристанищем страусов.

And gone up her palaces have thorns, Nettle and bramble in her fortresses, And it hath been a habitation of dragons, A court for daughters of an ostrich.

14 И звери пустыни будут встречаться с дикими кошками, и лешие будут перекликаться один с другим; там будет отдыхать ночное привидение и находить себе покой.

And met have Ziim with Aiim, And the goat for its companion calleth, Only there rested hath the night-owl, And hath found for herself a place of rest.

15 Т ам угнездится летучий змей, будет класть яйца и выводить детей и собирать их под тень свою; там и коршуны будут собираться один к другому.

There made her nest hath the bittern, Yea, she layeth, and hath hatched, And hath gathered under her shadow, Only there gathered have been vultures, Each with its companion.

16 О тыщите в книге Господней и прочитайте; ни одно из сих не преминет придти, и одно другим не заменится. Ибо сами уста Его повелели, и сам дух Его соберет их.

Seek out of the book of Jehovah, and read, One of these hath not been lacking, None hath missed its companion, For My mouth -- it hath commanded, And His spirit -- He hath gathered them.

17 И Сам Он бросил им жребий, и Его рука разделила им ее мерою; во веки будут они владеть ею, из рода в род будут жить на ней.

And He hath cast for them a lot, And His hand hath apportioned to them by line, Unto the age they possess it, To all generations they dwell in it!
